Welcome back, Ailie. I missed you. I’m sorry to hear that your chronic conditions persist. I hope that your making brings you joy and distracts you from your illnesses. I look forward to seeing your future projects.
Lovely. I had taken a bit of a break from watching RUclips and did not realize that you had taken a wee break. My daughter and I both deal with chronic health issues and for both of us, wooly yarn and creative pursuits work better than anything else. In August, I traveled through Scotland and came back to the US with a fair amount of yarn. Thank you for your thoughtful and gentle spirit. Sending peaceful and healing thoughts your way.
Thanks for your lovely comment, and huge apologies for the delayed reply! I’m so glad you were able to visit Scotland and take some woolly souvenirs home with you. I hope you’ve been enjoying working those yarns over the past few months ❤️
So glad to see you again. I love your quiet, thoughtful style. As some-one who has suffered migraines in the past I am sorry to hear that your health has not improved.
Great to see you back Ailie! Sorry to hear you're struggling with health issues 🤗. I've just heard Ruth mention your MAL, and, as I've literally just cast on the Soirée Sweater from Emily Foden's book Knits for Winter, I'll definitely be taking part. Take care 🥰.
So good to see you back on RUclips Ailie. So pleased to see you again. Sorry that your health problems have been pretty rubbish but good to hear you have been able to craft. I'm knitting on our advent knit with Helen whilst watching you. So it's like 3 of us Ulla n retreaters knitting together😀 xx
So lovely to see you back. I do hope that having craft to enjoy brings some comfort when the days are crappy. Love the Christmas jumper. Hugs in yarn 🧶
Hi Ailie! It's so nice to see you again! I am sorry to hear that you have been feeling poorly. I really enjoyed seeing all your beautiful knitting and am excited for the Coorie in MAL :)
Welcome back!! So good to see you and grateful you are ok, if not yet healed completely. Hope things improve for you soon and thank you for sharing your knitting practice with us. I look forward to the coorie in mal!!
Lovely to see you back and sharing your crafty adventures. I had assumed your health issues had ramped up and I’m sorry to hear that. Wishing you a new and effective treatment 🙏 suggestion for the felted “masterpiece”. How about turning it into a laptop/tablet or teapot cover. It would take pride of place. For the “arms” come steering wheel cover. Cut to size to wrap around the wheel. Make/punch holes along the edge and then weave in place. I made a crochet cover for my granddaughters steering wheel and it was sown in place that way. Looking forward to seeing you again xox
Aha! This is the solution!!! Thank you SO much 💗💗💗 I knew there would be a clever soul who had tackled this before. Holes and lacing is the perfect solution 🎉 Thanks for sharing your wisdom and kind words ☺️
I’m so happy to see you back! Your knits are beautiful and I’m glad you can keep knitting throughout your health problems. Wishing you much improvement in the coming new year!
My 14 year old and I were just talking the other day about fun words that we don’t see enough. We’re in the US, so Coorie is definitely one of them! I think I started watching around this time last year, so I was able to teach them this concept from last year’s videos. I’m not on Instagram so I won’t be officially participating, but I’ll be knitting away and tuning in whenever you’re around. Great to see you again!
Aw, I love that our Scottish words are travelling around the world 🥰 It’ll be lovely to have you knitting away with us. Feel free to email me photos if you’d like to enter, plenty people do that 💕
i was happy to see you pop up again. i figured that you were still working on feeling better, and i knew you’d be back one day 😉. the hat that you made is so pretty - the colors/yarns that you chose made it especially nice. i hope you find some significant success in the new year - i’ve got my fingers crossed for you🤞🏼☀️.
Hi Ailie, lovely to see you back. Always love your updates no matter how often you podcast are. Feel for you struggling with your health. Take care and see you next time!
Hi Ailie! Great to catch up. So nice to see you! I am loving your My Dear sweater. I had great plans to knit a Christmas jumper and yet it seems time has snuck up on me and here I am 31 days away from Christmas and haven't cast on. Maybe for next year! I will Coorie In with you indeed. :) See you next time!! WIshing health and joy to you.
I enjoy working with my hands to benefit my mental health as well. As a full time, live-in dementia companion, I have a lot of time that needs filled with something other than "my work." Winters here are long and I am sort of dreading this one. The Coorie In MKal sounds delightful! As a fellow migraine sufferer, I am sorry things are not working out as hoped so far. Mine have improved a little recently by reducing my own particular triggers. Eggs?! Who knew?! Hang in there. Sunshine is coming!
Great to see your back love your knits past and future. Hope your health improves for you in the fourth coming months. Knitting is very therapeutic good for the soul. Look forward to seeing your xmas knits. I've never joined a KAL might have a go. Take care. Thank you for your time.
Ailie - I’m so happy to see you back, you’ve been missed. My husband and I both look forward to your videos, I for the knitting and both of us for your lovely accent and gentle demeanor. I am sorry to hear you’ve been unwell and hope the Coorie in MAL doesn’t wear you out. I’ve been meaning to make the dunyvaig hap by Kate Davies and this MAL is the incentive to get me going. Please take care of yourself, your fans wish all the best for you.
Oh it's so nice to see you again, and thank you for the lovely episode. I'm sorry that you have to go through health challenges as such, hope the coming year will bring improvement.
That's a good idea! Might be a bit fiddly though? Another viewer has suggested punching holes along the edges of my felted pieces and weaving them together, which I think I’ll probably do. Thanks for the great suggestion and kind comment 💕
Lovely to see you again Ailie! We have been thinking about you, especially when we hear Louise's (Caithness Craft) audio podcast. Hope the medics managecto find something that helps you, soon. Best wishes from the husband and i ❤
Ailie Hi I know you didn’t want advice but I just had to mention this. My husband suffered all his life with Migraines. Would get them every other weekend, make him sick, flashing eyes and he would lock himself in a dark room then he would have a severe headache the following week until. He was recommend by a fellow sufferer to use Sumatriptan 50mg tablets. An absolute game changer. Please discuss with your Doctor of course. Now at first sign of a migraine he takes one of these pills 10 mins later gone may at worst have a slight headache. He never goes anywhere without them. Please speak to you Dr. It has changed our whole lives. Kindest regards from Sharon in Dorset.
Thanks Sharon 💕 I’m afraid my migraines are waaaaaay beyond that point. I’m under Neurology, so hopefully (in time) we’ll find something that makes them more manageable. I’m glad the triptans made such a difference to your husband…migraines are no fun!
Good to know! It’s impossible to tell on my device, as it sounds really loud regardless of the settings, but it seems to be very noticeable for some folks. And nobody wants to be adjusting their volume every time they watch a new video. I always want these to be as accessible as possible 😊
Hey girl! So I've been doing some reading about the effects of wheat and gluten in the diet. I have near allergic reactions-no diagnosis has been found, but in my readings, there has been mention that wheat and gluten are contributors, if not the causation of headaches and migraines. Maybe it's something worth looking into for you!
Oh my goodness, that sounds scary for you 😕 Thanks for thinking of me. I cut out gluten and dairy from my diet 3 years ago so gluten can’t be a factor in my case, but it’s interesting to know that it can affect others that way.
I’m not sure if I have enough fabric to do that, but somebody has suggested punching holes along each edge and weaving the side of the fabric together, which I reckon should work 👍 Thanks for the great suggestion though 💕
I've missed you and your very attractive accent. I love what you have been making. I feel for you in your health issues Migraines:- in New Zealand I use Rizatriptan - a wafer that is pain relief and takes away the nausea billious attack, caused by migraine. My migraine was 2 weekly hormonal pattern. But since the hysterectomy I had in '95 I have been getting them more often. Must get and mark calendar again to give me more idea.
🥰 Thanks Lois! And hi to you all the way over in NZ 👋 Sorry to hear you’re a migraine sufferer too, but glad that the triptans help. Marking the calendar definitely helps you to get a clearer idea of the situation (plus, a migraine diary is the first thing that docs ask you to do when you need further treatment). 💗
Nice to see you back online. I was going to reach out to you and have you join me at Andrew Clark’s Albanach Knitter knitting retreat in September. I brought along some of his gansey patterns to work on! Take care!
Aw, did you make it to a Sannox Stitches retreat?! How lovely! Arran is quite a trek from where I live, but I hope to be well enough to make it to one at some point🤞
@@TheThoughtfulKnitter I did. It was a lovely time. Aaran is beautiful and the company was wonderful. So much sea glass! Loved it. Have a lovely afternoon!
Hello Ailie, it's so nice to see you! I really enjoy your podcast and I am looking forward to seeing your sweaters for the little ones. You are such a talented knitter. Susannah
