Hi Shannon, I too have genetic high cholesterol. My heart doctor said rolled oats every morning, salt and butter only on Sundays, and veggies, veggies, veggies. Whole wheat toasted tomato sandwiches with low fat cheese, etc. A great book is, “Oh She Glows”. You will enjoy it! 🌸
Love all the things. Always love your Vlogmas. I felt the same way about the sock kits. I actually did the sock with spincycle two years ago? It got holes so fast- just disintegrated. It looked beautiful but I wouldn't knit another sock without nylon. So pretty though! I had the Olann advent before she took a break too and was surprised to see her back. I do hope all is better for her! Nice chat and beautiful view! - Kimberly
Thanks for sharing about Spincycle in socks! I wondered about the lack of strengthening fiber. It's a lot of work and cost for them to fall apart! ❤️❤️❤️
Fluoro morganite in everything! I love that color and have some plans for it in an upcoming knit. I want it with medium neutrals, with olive green, with creamy ivory! Big hugs! Happy Thanksgiving my friend 🙏🏼💕🦃🧶
Hey Shannon, I hear your struggles. Try the Minimalist Baker, her recipes are great and may check some of your boxes. I have made quite a few for my vegan, diabetic, dairy free and gluten free family. Your sweater is beatiful and just love your podcast - thanks - it's always nice to knit with you! - Jenn
Hi Shannon: I love your finished projects! Is the Rumble Raglan a brioche sweater? I was trying to find out from the pattern description, but did not see that. I love your colors. Thanks so much for sharing! ❤
I love the oat milk butter if you want to try that as a substitute to butter….its no cholesterol sooooo…..I lowered my numbers by 40 points 😮 eating vegan but the processed foods were a concern to me too. I’m kinda off the wagon nov & dec but maybe I’ll be ok December. It’s tough this time of year for sure. Your pink sweater is to die for!!!
Ahh, I'll try to share more. There may be a video from the summer when I first moved to this apartment that shows more of it. I was fairly thorough showing all the work I did here! ❤️❤️❤️
Healthy nutrition is important, but mostly the cholesterol problem is a problem thst runs in the family which you cannot solve by dieting. Unfortunately not, but there is good medication available.
@@whiskyandwool but medication is healthier than having stuffed arteries. Don’t be afraid of the meds, be afraid of what might happen if you don’t take them.
yup. i went through the same problem, unfortunately +cholesterol runs in my family and cutting certain foods out just didn't work. i found meds plus going easy on the dairy and eggs really helps keep things under control. and hey, i love that handspun can't wait to see the finished product.
@sabinebauerle7655 She is trying to get healthy and you are shilling for big pharma. Their goal is to poison us with additive and chemical filled foods so that they can "prescribe" drugs that they get bonuses from pharma. Why are you here shilling for pharma and their poisin
Shannon, I hope that you are able to find a new doctor who understands the importance of organic whole food. There is no benefit for your current doctor to heal you when they get financial benefits from the drug companies.
So true!! Although, my doctor is fairly conventional, I also think she's willing to chat about alternatives to medication. I will push back on medications more so because there is zero history of heart disease in my family, even if we do trend higher in the cholesterol area. Thanks for chiming in!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Shannon! I admire your determined efforts to creatively use your stash for new projects - you keep coming up with beautiful garments!
Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️
I loove how vibrant and fun all your yarns are!❤ gorgeous
lol! Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️
Your Rumble Raglan is fantastic! So pretty.
Oh thank you!! I'm enjoying it! ❤️❤️❤️
Your makes are beautiful! Those moth hand warmers are on my TO DO list!
Yay! Thank you!! They knit up fast once I settled into it! ❤️❤️❤️
Love your episodes. Your rumble raglan is much prettier than the pattern model’s!! Yay! So lovely!! ❤
Thank you! 😊❤️❤️

It's color work! two by two stitches through out. It's kinda genius in its simplicity! Thanks so much!! ❤️❤️❤️
Great, thanks so much for the heads up! ☺️

That’s so interesting. It makes sense though because I was thinking what the heck else can I cut?! I’m trying to avoid another medication 😅 ❤️❤️❤️

Hey Shannon, try adding to your diet, rather than removing. Add oats, chia seeds, etc. A good health food shop should be able to advise. Good luck.
Thanks for the advice!! I'm trying all the things! ❤️❤️❤️
