I discovered a good use for this. In my workshop I use a number of cases that store building hardware - nuts bolts etc. I have basic labels on them “ Nuts & Bolt”, “Screws”, “Hooks & Hinges” but often forget exactly is in them and have to open to take a look. Taking a photo of the contents of each and using a QR code is the perfect solution. Thank you again Andy. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺
Such a creative application of QR codes. Love your video/presentation style: clear, concise, and interesting!
Thanks SteffunyC!
Such a good idea! solves my problem of being the only family member who knows where to look for various info,
Glad the video helped. Thanks for watching May-ann!
It does, although if the information is very important, it's probably a good idea to print a sheet of the qr codes along with the text that's in the qr code.
I want for home door & video call out side door
OMG TYSM I've had this idea for years but could NOT find the way to do this without trying to make this idea a reality myself. I greatly appreciate you because this EVERYTHING I've been needing in one vid! 🥰🥰🥰
Great video Andy! Initially I thought about business uses but it was in the fall and I was thinking about pulling out holiday decor (and getting it put away after the season) back when QR codes became popular. I loved the tips on how to add it to Evernote since I use it. Perfect timing to come across your channel.
Most excellent video. your content was delivered clearly, precisely and the visual demonstrations and examples were really helpful. Well done and thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for going step by step on how to create QR codes. Also Thank you for providing additional options on using a QR code I didn't think about around my home.
I saw this title and thought you have to be kidding. But your straight face told another story. However, you say you are only sharing a few of the ways these codes can be used! Well, that's a few more than I know. I've watched two of your videos and I like your presentations enough to subscribe. Hoping your channel does well.
Excellent, very useful video! Thank you.
Wow! Thanks for sharing this information. Now I can organize my storage room/she-shed that is full of heavy boxes every time I’m looking for something the mess I make is bad. I will be subscribing
Great video Andy. It was very informative and you came up with some great uses for QR codes! Thanks!
GREAT VIDEO..informative and useful. really saved my day with all the information covering every aspect for the whole task to get completed in a single go
Love this, Andy! Inspiring! Thanks!
Thanks Jim. Please feel free to share how you end up using QR codes in your home.
We have a major home office reorganisation going on and I used this approach with Bankers Box and other containers. My system is based on OneNote because I find it easy to update pictures from my phone and the pages are easily searchable if I use key words on the pages so I have two ways of looking for things. The other thing that I have found is that if I use parcel labels - the 8 to an A4 page type - I can generate the QR code for the OneNote page directly using a Word add in, QR4Office. Although the QRcode for the OneNote page link is more complex than a bitly for example, the label is big enough for a smartphone camera to handle with ease. It means I can do the whole thing without going outside Office 365 and I am not dependent on third-party software.
Brilliant! Good luck with your office organization Malcolm!
Thanks for the tutorials and ideas!!
Fantastic. Thank you, Mr. Park.
Thank you Kevin!
Great video, thank so much for taking time for making those (all your) great videos.
Yes. Mail merge for QR helps. Good videos..!!
Thank you so much! That’s exactly what I needed in my life!
Brilliant! Thank you.
So helpful!!! Just what I needed.
Thank you for the complete walkthrough
Such great ideas! Thanks
Great tip for going back to how to instructions...thnx
Great! AtHomeWithNikki has a video where she uses QR codes for household chores, I want to do this but I didn’t know how so thanks for the tips.
Your video is clear and concise. I am trying to pack up a house and move half way round the world. I want to be abe to share the packing lists with any officials that want to check the boxes and thought QR Codes would be the way forward. I will just create a Folder in Dropbox for each Box, add photos and an Excel list to it to give full info
Fantastic!! Thank you
This video is awesome! Thank you!
nice job explaining.. Will save me lots of time. Thanks
This would be great to use for a pantry inventory list or your stockpile list
Yes, it's a great way to keep things organized. Thanks for watching Cindy!
Wow good job! Thanks for the tips
Great idea!
Excellent video!
I visited a business that had a coaster on the conference room table with a QR code to get the guest WiFi credentials it made it very easy to connect. I've used them in the church center app to register for an event or join a group...
Thanks awesome ideas for using qr codes
Awesome!
Brilliant tips!
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching!
Just found you! Thanks so much!!
Thanks for this! I''m moving soon and will definitely use this keep organized. This is also a great way to organize collections and another way to use OneNote and Evernote.
Glad you found the tip helpful David. Good luck with your move!
That’s awesome!
Thanks Vicki!
This is fantastic 👌🏽
Thanks Nicole!
I'd love to see a video on mail merge!
Very useful
Great vid! I saw this amazon ad for these QR codes. It's just something I noticed, though.
In the ad, it was mentioned that you can also search for a specific item through their app so that you no longer have to scan each and every bin just to look for 1 specific item.
I wonder if you also have that trick or if it is an exclusive function found only in their app (they didn't reveal the name of the app)
Very interesting. I'm going to buy stickers right now...
Great video... so clear and understandable. I'm trying to wrap my head around this technology because I have an application that I want to make work, but can't figure it out yet. Not sure if you have a video for this issue: Recipes of actual treats at church picnic. I want to create a QR code for each recipe so the attendees could click on the QR code and be able to pull up the individual recipe and then print it for their use. Do you have any videos on this subject??
That is a great way to use QR codes! But I think your question is already mentioned in this video: If you make you recipes available on any platform you choose like Google Notes or Evernote, you can then use the (public) URL to those pages and make several QR codes.
After moving I can never find things, this might help!
You deserve more views.
I know, right? 😁 Thanks for watching, and for the nice comment.
It will be most helpful for my mom
Because everytime we need to find sth. It will take days to completely open every box and then repack
Using this in my business warehouse for those random boxes.
Hello from New York City! Want to try this myself but there are technical problems with my label printer which can only print 12mm (0.5 inch) inches wide labels. Just wondering how to make super small QR codes that would fit on a Dymo LabelManager PNP label printer that can only print 12mm wide labels. The minimum QR size is a 1cm square. By any chance, do you know how many characters or how much data a 1cm square QR code can store? How short would a URL have to be to fit on the 1cm square QR code? Your inventory management idea described in this video is very impressive. Thank you for informative video. Have a good day.
My husband plays the piano and he is getting older. I have thought of video recording him playing so future generations can enjoy his music. I wanted to add that video to a QR code and share it on his FamilySearch page. You just showed me how I can do that. Thank you!
That is very nice Christine. Both your husband and your family are lucky that you're doing this and leaving a legacy.
Hi Andy, This was extremely helpful for me. What if I want multiple QR codes on one page? The QR reader is very sensitive to codes close to one another. Is there spacing or settings function I should select. Thank you
I would print them on separate sides of the label and use my hand to cover the other one.
Hi Andy! Great video!! I'm wanting to use QR codes to track inventory for my small "soccer mom" home business, but I'm struggling with understanding how to make it work. I can generate QR codes (or barcodes) in the DYMO software, but what do I link it to if I'm wanting to track inventory? For example, I have a tshirt stock... different sizes, different colors, and some different brands. These are all already in an Excel spreadsheet, it just doesn't get accessed when I'm in a hurry. I think having QR codes on each shirt would really help to quickly update my inventory information. But again... I just can't quite wrap my head around how to make it work. Any thoughts?? Or, am I trying to make a bicycle fly with what I'm wanting? LOL
Hi Cathy - I'm not an expert in the filed of inventory management, but I would think in your case a normal UPC or EAN barcode would better than QR code. 😀
Future Reference app? 2:42 in the video
I did this years ago. Just found a person who think like me 😄
- I’ve heard some QR code generators will expire your links after a certain amount of time. Do you know of any free services that won’t expire your codes?
- Are there things to look for in choosing a reliable QR code generator service?
- What are some ways to add a layer of security? i.e. password protection
