Rather than taking 3 minutes to describe a 3x3 box inside a 7x7 border pattern ... why not just say "we have this box pattern ... and we put it in these 3 corners ... and the reason is ...."
Sorry I didn't learn any math on how QR codes works. I'm assuming over a billion people could be assigned a code and they would all be different.... looking for that kind of math

Format information, has a BCH code for error correction. The data bytes block have Reed Solomon codes for error correction. And that is the main math in the QR codes. There is other too.
