Hey dude I suggest you to check the EP Fallen, it definitely won't disappoint you. This album introduced me to Evanescence when I was a teenager. For me it was the discover of metal music. Now I'm a gothic metal addicted.

Hell, I grew up on Zeppelin, so I was close to 50 when Evanescence came out. Loved 'Bring Me to Life', but never heard any of the other songs because it was my daughter who listened to current rock, not me. I'm so glad that I stumbled across people reviewing music on RUclips because now I get to hear the songs I never did. Love at least a dozen Evanescence songs now. On the same 2011 album as 'What You Want' is 'Made of Stone' and 'My Heart is Broken'. I believe that you'll dig 'em.

Agree with you this is full of underworld vibes!!! Evanescence actually did a theme song for Underworld Awakening (fourth movie), the song called "Made of Stone". Also Amy was supposed to lend her vocals to several songs on the fisrt Underworld movie soundtrack, but her vocals were taken out at the last minute for legal reasons.
Since you like it heavy you will definitely love " the game is over " by them.

Cool reaction. And I can see where you’re coming from about the sound of Evanescence if you don’t really follow their material. But there are lesser known songs that are as “heavy” or “dark” (if not more) than this one. If you can, check out Lose Control, Cloud Nine, Whisper, Made of Stone, Never Go Back, they are darker than What You Want. And of course, you can check out their most recent single The Game is Over, which is one of the heaviest stuff they’ve released in a while!

This was also the introduction to the new band lineup, which is also the reason for the different sound. The sound from the album this comes from (it is self titled) is entirely different from their older sound partially for that reason. I think it is an underrated album, honestly.
The new song that just came out “The Game Is Over” I honestly love more than “Wasted On You” (I love both, though). It offers a much heavier sound.

I'm not a big fan of theirs either, a little mainstream for my tastes. This one was pretty good though. There are a small handful of their songs that i do like and there is no denying that Amy Lee is a hella singer for sure.
