So I was following this until the plugging in of the new stick as mine only has that 5 pin wire harness on one side, was it supposed to have 2? Do I need to buy one?
yes, you need to buy harness with both ends 5pin-terminal. Please check it from www.mayflash.com/product/SANWA_JLF_TP_8YT_Joystick_Gray_Original.html Sanwa joystick with both-ends 5pin terminal.
Any plans for an F700 Elite using Sanwa joystick and buttons? I own the F500 Elite and love it! 2nd player will definitely be the F700 if an Elite model is produced. 👍
1. I can't detach the wires from the buttons; they're clamped down ridicously tight. Any recommendations? 2. I'm moving my F300 Elite stick and buttons to an F500V2 body; can I use the F300's five pin wire harness?
@@juanospitia There is a 5-pin slot space on F500V2 PCB board. This slot is for SANWA TP-8YT Joystick 5pin cable. Please be sure that the SANWA Joystick you bought has this 5pins cable.

I've done the steps in the video, i got myself another sanwa stick to replace the original one, but when i plug it it only detects "Up" and "Diagonal right Up" Inputs, what could it be? I've already updated the firmware and switched between LS, DP and RS, they only detect those 2 inputs. Thanks for the tutorial also
1. Please try to assemble back MAYFLASH original stick, does it work well? All inputs can be detected. 2. If original is ok. Please check with the 5 PIN harness from Sanwa , Maybe you need to change a new harness to check.
Hello ,you've to buy the 5-pin cable (female to female)separately if Sanwa didn't offer the both side clips cable . Link here for your reference :www.amazon.com/Hikig-Joystick-Encoder-Mayflash-Adapter/dp/B07BK12QBG/ref=sr_1_1?crid=24XT8WCJEIH1S&keywords=Sanwa+jlf+cable&qid=1687830768&sprefix=sanwa+jlf+cable+%2Caps%2C443&sr=8-1
Thanks for the video tutorial! The truth is that I have no skill in these things and without very detailed instructions I would not dare to do it. Now maybe I'll be encouraged to change the buttons and stick. As for the lever, I'm clear that I would choose SANWA JLF-TP-8Y but I have doubts about the buttons. Although it is not a very orthodox combination, is it possible to put Sanwa and Seimitsu buttons at the same time? I've seen the range of translucent buttons from both brands and I'm looking forward to putting buttons from both. I had thought about putting 5 Seimitsu and 3 Sanwa... does it make sense? would i need additional wiring? Is the Mayflash F500 V2 compatible with the Seimitsu PS-14-KN 30mm and PS-14-K 30mm buttons? If so, my idea is to combine Seimitsu PS-14-K 30mm with Sanwa OBSC-30-C Snap In. Sorry for so many questions. I'm a total newbie to arcade buttons because until recently I've only played with gamepads.
Question, I bought the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT Joystick and it came with the same connector as in this video, white connector with 5 colored wires, but the other end of the cable does not have one of those white connector and just ends in the wires. I have no idea how to connect those to the Mayflash F500 board. Anyone have experience with this type or is it not compatible?
1. It seems you need to solidering the wires on MAYFLASH joystick. 2. @@mayflashm7044 Thanks for your reply. I actually found references to this type of cable and looking into it. Although, soldering and getting experience doing that might also be okay. :)
I prefer the bigger Seimitsu lever in the F500 since the top panel has screw holes for it. I just have to remove the mounting plate and screw the lever directly to the panel.
Top panel is not screwed . It is 6pcs magnets on top panel. F500 supports korean Sumducksa lever(Crwon CWL-309). It quires the user do soldering cable on levers.
Why is my f500 turns off every 5-6 minutes while using on ps 4 or 5 ?? Does anyone know? Done the updates and used the magic s pro2 same still turns off every 6 mins..
If you want to play at PS4, please contact official PLAYSTATION 4 controller into USB Slot of F500; If you want to play game at PS5, please contact MAYFLASH'S Magic-s ultimate adapter into USB Slot of F500.
There is no true up or down. "Up" is determined by which ground is oriented in this setup. If you have it wrong (up=down, is the only other outcome possible here), just flip the cable connection at the base of the joystick.
Thanks a ton! Quick and to the point with clear visuals - exactly what I'm after.
Thank you ~~
