Fun fact: When the game was shown at 2001, the game ran at a higher frame rate. It ran at 60fps. The final game runs at 30fps.

Bananafries then why does the demo run at a higher frame rate? If that was supposed to happen then all the trailers would’ve run at 30fps and the final game would run at 60 FPS.
Those piranha heads are still there, on bianco hills episode 1, the polluted piranha will roll chocolate-goop balls at you, if you spray them clean, they reveal the piranha heads underneath the goop.

Cameron Wydra ? Do you mean play Sunshine on the Wii? If so, I have one of the first Wiis that came with the compatability for GameCube games so I can plug in the controllers and memory cards, and I have a GameCube, complete with the add-on to play GBA games on it.

Most areas having a train station for progression would've been so cool! Or even better, have only the graffiti portals and pipes at first, but then, when you clean up the train stations and make them functional again, you could then use them as a fast travel system!

I agree completely. Seeing the spaceworld footage made it look more like so different from the Mario sunshine we know and kinda scary with a huge,weird creature that doesn't resemble anything we know walking through the supposedly safe town where your protected from danger.

The Spaceworld Theme IS actually used in game! If you stay still on the Title Screen, a demo of the game will play and you will hear the song.
From what I saw (idk if it real) in E3 2002, instead of the text "Juice" under the Yoshi's juice meter, it said "Hungry"
I noticed that in the instruction manual as well. I remember checking out the instruction manual as a kid and seeing that a screenshot of Mario riding Yoshi said "Hungry" instead of "Fruit" when Yoshi's juice meter was empty.
In the beta you could play green Yoshi.

The spaceworld theme actually was used in the game. If you sit on the title screen for a few minutes, it'll play a demo video of the gameplay and that song is what plays in the background.

What I think is interesting is the light house island can be seen in Delfino Plaza, I always wanted to try to glitch out of bounds and go over there, fun fact, it didn't work. Also note: in the begging, you were able to go to the lighthouse, through a train or Subway, but was cut for some reason, along with a few other islands and shine sprites.

For those who don't know, corona means "crown" in Latin. Henceforth, the mountain is called "Crown Mountain". Coronavirus means "crown virus", and was named as such because of its crown shape. And also, masks save lives.

The sun glasses he mentioned ARE used in the final game. Outside of pinna park a Pianta will offer you glasses if you talk to him and will take them off if you talk to him again. The Pianta acts as a toggle on/off. However the glasses will disappear when you leave pinna park.
This picture at 9:24 is so old that you can see Spaceworld 2001 Delfino Plaza in the top left. I can't believe how much this game has changed within a year

I wish Sunshine had those human characters or just any sort of tourists from outside the island. It could've made the game feel even more brimming since Isle Delfino is seemingly a popular vacation spot. I'm glad they sorta went back to this idea in Odyssey with the tourists from other kingdoms appearing in the post-game. Letting parts of your world freely intersect does so much to make your world feel more alive.
This was the very first beta64 video I ever watched, and it was an advertisement.

My interpretation of Mario sunshine is a very experimental game. They tried many many new things with this one that shook the formula. I have played the game many time and honestly not all of it works, but the atmosphere, moveset, and mechanics were pretty fun.
I wish Nintendo would make a sequel or something set in within the Mario sunshine world for the WiiU.

Robert Colton What he said is that the Sunglasses were originally going to be a special mode where you play the game with reduced brightness as it's the main function, but made it into an item ( which becomes available to you after defeating Bowser). You get the Shine Sprite shirt once you collect all 120 Shine Sprites.

Actually you can get the Sunglasses after collecting 30 shines, you get the shirt after beating Bowser, you don't need all 120 shines because I've gotten the shirt before 100 shines. Getting 120 shines gets you a different picture at the end of the credits. Yes you spend all that hard work just to get a different picture at the end of the long credits, not a cool feature or anything. A picture.
