But, going back to that "fire monster" bit.. Maybe they're coming at this wrong, it's not that fire monsters are their similarity (lol Gandalf). Te fFti is earth and fire, Else is air and ice(water). There are times when she generates cold winds, if I recall correctly. Basically, she represents cold in all its forms, and cold in general is often viewed as being a mix of air and water when it comes to classical elements.
I wasn't confused about who was calling to her. The first time I saw it, I assumed Elsa's mom called to the four spirits when she was young (i.e. specifically the wind spirit, Gale) and in that moment she actually became the "fifth spirit"...kinda. she stepped into that role bc she was intervening between man and nature with her action, but she didn't have innate magic and didn't know enough to fulfill the role until too late, but she passed that destiny on to Elsa (and Anna, the other half of the bridge) and that's why the spirit of Iduna calls to her (with the same voice as when she was young and stepped into the role, creating this destiny) to help Elsa take on the mantle of her powers and her role.
@@dudetheman3 I think Elsa's mom is calling to her. She believed it's the fifth spirit calling to her, but it's Elsa who is the fifth spirit and her mom was just calling her to her destiny. It seems to be technically the voice of her when she was young, but its definitely still her, or rather her spirit. At least that's what I always thought.
An important character from Anna and the Snow Queen that was omitted from Frozen was the queen of summer who naturally had powers of life and warmth in contrast to Elsa's cold and death -- although interestingly the main theme surrounding her wasn't actually ice but bees; she was a queen bee who presided over a hive. This carries a kind of femme fatal subtext to it given that the queen is one of the few and most dominant female bees in a given hive, or perhaps the cruel cannibalistic aspect of nature; the mother who eats her own children. This contrasts very sharply with the themes of Frozen given that both Anna and Elsa's parents die early in the story so they are never coddled by them, although their isolation is allegorical more than anything. This would lead us to assume that the role of the summer queen would be the positive aspect of the mother image that supports children in their efforts to find independence, which brings us a little closer to Frozens themes concerning the individual spirit. I can't think off the top of my head how best to incorporate her into the story, but she's already semi-cannon, having cameod and been mentioned in sumo supplementary material, if I recall.

I'd say it's debatable. Traditionally, when someone is classified as a demigod they are usually the result of one divine parent and one human parent (think characters like Percy Jackson), whereas the way this theory is worded, it sounds more or less like he's trying to say that Elsa is the goddess or Spirit of the goddess taken physical form (think characters like Zelda from Skyward Sword), though I have heard of some cases where divinity "becomes human" and is classified as demigod, though those circumstances are few and far between and usually tend to involve a loss of powers and/or divinity, neither of which seem to apply to Elsa.
I think that since the fifth spirit saw that someone of Arendelle and someone of Northuldra would one day fall in love, it selected them to be the parents of the fifth spirit that will one day untite the two waring peoples, and bring balance to everything.
Isn't Elsa's "bad version" her as a child? Her being locked away in her room? Just like Te Fiti, once she has her heart back she is her true self, once Elsa has her freedom back she is her best self. I feel as though Elsa's childhood is her worse side, the time in which she could not express herself and not be able to show who she is? But after Let it go and Show yourself she becomes her true form.

Unless Moana IS Tifiti, because then it would be equal. When Tifiti was without her heart, she covered everything with heat. Love is represented by a heart, and love thaws. Elsa covered everything with ice when she didn’t feel love the love to thaw. So when she and Elsa didn’t feel love, bad things happened.
I don’t know if anyone else has pointed it out, but in the lullaby All Is Found, it calls Ahtohollan a “mother full of memory” and Te Fiti seems like a mother goddess. Seems to fit.
If you're talking about the first movie then i think i can help Anna and kristoff were wearing coats. The soldiers who came to get her were wearing military uniforms and presumably had to climb to get to the castle so they were already warm when they got there

Idk if this means anything but Elsa also doesn't fall in love with anyone. She's very independent. Even with her family she's distant. I mean obviously the whole thing in the beginning of Frozen 1 was her keeping her powers a secret from everyone including her sister. Of course she still loves her sister and cares for her friends and her kingdon, but like notice how she can keep her "heart" distanced from others.
This is so crazy! I was literally re-watching Moana last night, and when they said the bit about Te Fiti being able to create life my mind went straight to Elsa creating Olaf! I think Elsa's heart is her love. Kinda the point of the whole first movie. Her fear makes her lose control and become a monster (deadly, like te ka), while her love is what frees her.

This video made me think about how Moana and Frozen’s magic system fit together in their shared universe, and by extension how all of the magic systems in all Disney animated films fit together. To me, a lot of them seem both very similar and very different, albeit very soft (undefined). I’d be interested in you guys pulling together all that we know about magic from the Disney Animated movies to try to understand and define rules for the Disney magic system.
I got Express VPN because of you guys and I love it! I read the title and expected Hercules because of gods and goddesses but I LOVE the Moana connection! I think the Moana koru is designed that way to also look like a wave (like the Water Nation symbol in ATLA).
Just after I finished Frozen 2, I was super confused as to why or how does Ice relate to the "fifth" spirit stuff, but then it occurred to me that, she is the spirit of ice because that is the predominant element where she is located and in there, it is almost always winter, so I started to theorize that maybe in Frozen 3 we will get to see the other 3 Gods or spirits or wardens or something, why 3? well, since Elsa has ice powers, she would be a perfect fit for the Winter role, and as such, there would be more people to represent the other 3 elements! and thanks to this theory, Moana or Te fiti (which I believe are the same) can be the Summer aspect. also, I believe that Frozen 3 will tackle Global warming themes somehow, in the second movie, there are some references to the rapid development of technology and some consequences; very minor stuff but it felt very out of place. I believe Olaf makes those references

The winters shown in the movies may be unseasonal, but you can probably expect there to be plenty of snow in the region when it is properly winter. Personally, I think that's probably the main distinction here, if the connection between Elsa and Te Fiti is an actual thing. They're both essentially spirits of the land, but Elsa is the spirit of a near-arctic region and therefore her powers mostly manifest as cold. Te Fiti, on the other hand, is the spirit of a region of tropical or subtropical islands, many of which are probably volcanic, and her powers manifest accordingly. That said, for this reason, I don't think the outward-pointing diamonds are pointing towards Te Fiti. Instead, if anything is present where those lines converge, it'd be a southern cold spirit... or perhaps Elsa is also linked to the antarctic regions as well. Another possibility is that there are three other Te Fitis spread across the world - perhaps the fire diamond (her ability to rejuvenate plant life could be linked to the Avatar theme of fire representing "energy and life" - noting that, like fire, life is primarily fueled by oxidation reactions) or earth diamond points to Te Fiti, and the other diamonds all point to similar deities.
It’s like Yue from ATLA. She has part of the Moon spirit within her when she was born, and then she later becomes one with the Moon spirit. Elsa has part of the fifth spirit in her because of her father being saved by the fifth spirit, and the rest of the spirit is left at Ahtohallan, which eventually calls to her so that Elsa can become one with the spirit.
I was actually thinking more along the lines of Iduna's (Elsa's mom) song being a call to all spirits, not just one. The wind spirit is the one that responds and helps them (I think the wind spirit is quite friendly to Iduna since she was playing with it when she met Elsa's dad). The reason the voice of the one calling to Elsa is her mom is because her mom is the last person to call on the spirits with the song (the Northaldra (sp?) people either don't know the song (it was prob taught to Iduna by the wind spirit) or they didn't have a need to (they didn't realize they've been trapped for years)) The one who sent out the spirit call to Elsa is Atohallan itself either because Elsa has finally learned to control her powers and has come to her magical maturity (thus making her powerful enough to take her proper place as the fifth spirit) or because it has been nearly fifty years since the forest was closed off (Iduna and her husband were kids, teenagers at best when it happened and their kids were in their late teens when they left/died) and there had been a fifty year deadline for the Arendelle people to come and appease the spirits (it would explain why their parents left when they did, they could've gone before Elsa was born or after Elsa was old enough to take over as queen in their absence)
This could also open up the possibility of having other elemental princesses. Maybe in villains or even in even suddle ways, but I bet that in the next Disney princess movies we're going to be having a few new elemental princess movies, leading up to a elemental princess get together! WHICH could support the theory on having the disney crossover which could make Rapunzual somehow involved in all this princess stuff. Maybe she is one of the elements! But magical healing hair doesn't seem very likely. So she'll probablly have some even more important role when they have a big crossover, (Because seriously, how could they NOT do that.) Unless of course the crossover was supposed to be reck-it-ralph... Defintally not it. But they still probablly are going to have a movie dedicated to some sort of elemental crossover. I do also believe that Moana is going to have some sort of descendant. (Ah descendants, looks like that's what's up.) Which will have some similar powers to Elsa. Because I think that Elsa is a descendant of an ICE GOD and Moana IS the WATER GOD, and sense Moana takes place a whole lot before Frozen, there's sometime for her and some person to get married have kids, and after a few generations, one of them has slightly less god like water powers and so on so on till the times of Frozen. Oh and this generation is defintally going to be called the magical era. And this is a whole lot isn't this? x> But I truley do think this is some what gonna happen.
Based on this theory, I want to propose that Elsa and Tefiti are yin-yang and I have proof: The yin yang balance often refers to heaven and earth, like having the power to make space ice vs the power to create land masses with plant life. The two also embody the ideas of being passive vs active, such as passively standing by as your heart is returned vs actively going out to restore your heart. Also there’s the idea of heat and cold, which can be seen not only by the island locations but also plants need sunlight (heat) to thrive whereas ice needs to be cold. There’s the idea of hard vs soft which is seen in the “heart logo” of both. There’s big and small, which can be interpreted through the physical size of the two. I’m sure there’s plenty more I can come up with but this is good enough for now
Wasn't Elsa's mom calling out to Gale, though? 🤔 After all, we see she seems to be close to the wind spirit when we see her play with it, and Gale's the one to ultimately help Elsa's parents. Aside from that, I totally agree with the rest of the theory!

I think the next theory you guys should use as the main topic of a future video is "Why Were the Five Spirits Created" ( which could also be an idea for Frozen 3 )? Personally I think that their kinda tied with the lore of Tangled what with that franchise having objects that represent the sun and the moon. Maybe the forces who created those objects created the spirits as a way for those forces to inplement into the spirits so that they can control the world. However, they fought over who should own the spirits and the battle ends with the spirits leaving leaving with their creators only the sun drop and moon stone.

Maybe I'm weird. I always interpreted it that Elsa's mother wasn't calling the fifth spirit. Because the 5th spirt hadn't been created yet. She was calling Gail (wind spirit) to come and help her carry the prince to the wagon to hide. And when Elsa hears the call, its her mother calling her and when she gets to the island her mother showed her the memories and was finally able to speak (sing) to her. And then Elsa was able to finally be the fifth spirit and except her powers when she understood who and what she was.
I always saw it as Ahtohallan being the place where you find the truth out, and because water holds memories (something they mention loads) it kept the memories of her mother? And that was what was calling her? The memory of her mother? But then how was her mother singing to her? That can’t be a memory surely... now I’m confused again lol

Another point towards the video: we know from Moana’s Grandma that Te Fiti is a goddess of Earth and Fire (or at least Te Ka is, but land is created by cool magma so her powers fit Earth and Fire). In many cultures was seemed as a product of the Water and Air elements (air cools the water, bada bing bada boom!). So Elsa and Te Fiti are antipodes with their power set and the elements they inhabit!

A lot of us girls in our families receive them as a coming of age totem alongside a pounamu, but it depends on which tribe you descend from.

This is my theory and breakdown of Frozen II - basically I think that when Elsa goes to that ice cave place thing (I forgot what it's called 😅) and she finds the compass and steps in the middle, I don't think it means _she_ (or ice) is the fifth spirit, I think it means the people are, more specifically, not just people, but the bridge between the forest people and the kingdom people, (once again I forgot what they're called) which in my opinion, that bridge is Elsa, she brings together forest people and kingdom people, in multiple ways, for one, when she is born, her mom is from the forest and her dad is from the kingdom, meaning she is kind of both, so as bringing them together, she also brings them together at the end of Frozen II, making it possible for them to communicate again, and get along, so my point is that Elsa isn't the fifth spirit, she represents the fifth spirit, which is the people and their friendship. I feel accomplished now 😄

I wasn't confused about who was calling to her. The first time I saw it, I assumed Elsa's mom called to the four spirits when she was young (i.e. specifically the wind spirit, Gale) and in that moment she actually became the "fifth spirit"...kinda. she stepped into that role bc she was intervening between man and nature with her action, but she didn't have innate magic and didn't know enough to fulfill the role until too late, but she passed that destiny on to Elsa (and Anna, the other half of the bridge) and that's why the spirit of Iduna calls to her (with the same voice as when she was young and stepped into the role, creating this destiny) to help Elsa take on the mantle of her powers and her role.

@@dudetheman3 I think Elsa's mom is calling to her. She believed it's the fifth spirit calling to her, but it's Elsa who is the fifth spirit and her mom was just calling her to her destiny. It seems to be technically the voice of her when she was young, but its definitely still her, or rather her spirit. At least that's what I always thought.

An important character from Anna and the Snow Queen that was omitted from Frozen was the queen of summer who naturally had powers of life and warmth in contrast to Elsa's cold and death -- although interestingly the main theme surrounding her wasn't actually ice but bees; she was a queen bee who presided over a hive. This carries a kind of femme fatal subtext to it given that the queen is one of the few and most dominant female bees in a given hive, or perhaps the cruel cannibalistic aspect of nature; the mother who eats her own children.
This contrasts very sharply with the themes of Frozen given that both Anna and Elsa's parents die early in the story so they are never coddled by them, although their isolation is allegorical more than anything.
This would lead us to assume that the role of the summer queen would be the positive aspect of the mother image that supports children in their efforts to find independence, which brings us a little closer to Frozens themes concerning the individual spirit.
I can't think off the top of my head how best to incorporate her into the story, but she's already semi-cannon, having cameod and been mentioned in sumo supplementary material, if I recall.

I'd say it's debatable. Traditionally, when someone is classified as a demigod they are usually the result of one divine parent and one human parent (think characters like Percy Jackson), whereas the way this theory is worded, it sounds more or less like he's trying to say that Elsa is the goddess or Spirit of the goddess taken physical form (think characters like Zelda from Skyward Sword), though I have heard of some cases where divinity "becomes human" and is classified as demigod, though those circumstances are few and far between and usually tend to involve a loss of powers and/or divinity, neither of which seem to apply to Elsa.

I think that since the fifth spirit saw that someone of Arendelle and someone of Northuldra would one day fall in love, it selected them to be the parents of the fifth spirit that will one day untite the two waring peoples, and bring balance to everything.
Isn't Elsa's "bad version" her as a child? Her being locked away in her room? Just like Te Fiti, once she has her heart back she is her true self, once Elsa has her freedom back she is her best self. I feel as though Elsa's childhood is her worse side, the time in which she could not express herself and not be able to show who she is? But after Let it go and Show yourself she becomes her true form.
Though to herself that was not the worst. In the second movie she didn't want Anna in harm's way which means she probably feels that when she hurt her sister is her worst because can you imagine being the reason your sister died

Idk if this means anything but Elsa also doesn't fall in love with anyone. She's very independent. Even with her family she's distant. I mean obviously the whole thing in the beginning of Frozen 1 was her keeping her powers a secret from everyone including her sister. Of course she still loves her sister and cares for her friends and her kingdon, but like notice how she can keep her "heart" distanced from others.
The explanation for why Elas is the heart is similar to why Repanzel in Tangled is the flower after it heals her mother.

Hey they were right about the rock giants in Frozen II, and even got their message as far as Disney who put it in the next trailer, so I think we should listen.
I think Elsa's heart is her love. Kinda the point of the whole first movie. Her fear makes her lose control and become a monster (deadly, like te ka), while her love is what frees her.
for sure she is a Divine Being, I have hopes that the future Frozen films deal with the reality of that and what it means to her being and mortality, she could literally have evolved into an immortal - I mean, it could be AMAZING, but really sad, but AMAZING
This video made me think about how Moana and Frozen’s magic system fit together in their shared universe, and by extension how all of the magic systems in all Disney animated films fit together. To me, a lot of them seem both very similar and very different, albeit very soft (undefined). I’d be interested in you guys pulling together all that we know about magic from the Disney Animated movies to try to understand and define rules for the Disney magic system.

Just after I finished Frozen 2, I was super confused as to why or how does Ice relate to the "fifth" spirit stuff, but then it occurred to me that, she is the spirit of ice because that is the predominant element where she is located and in there, it is almost always winter, so I started to theorize that maybe in Frozen 3 we will get to see the other 3 Gods or spirits or wardens or something, why 3? well, since Elsa has ice powers, she would be a perfect fit for the Winter role, and as such, there would be more people to represent the other 3 elements! and thanks to this theory, Moana or Te fiti (which I believe are the same) can be the Summer aspect.
also, I believe that Frozen 3 will tackle Global warming themes somehow, in the second movie, there are some references to the rapid development of technology and some consequences; very minor stuff but it felt very out of place. I believe Olaf makes those references

@@imaginefun13 Arendelle's still in a cold climate, though. The winters shown in the movies may be unseasonal, but you can probably expect there to be plenty of snow in the region when it is properly winter.
Personally, I think that's probably the main distinction here, if the connection between Elsa and Te Fiti is an actual thing. They're both essentially spirits of the land, but Elsa is the spirit of a near-arctic region and therefore her powers mostly manifest as cold. Te Fiti, on the other hand, is the spirit of a region of tropical or subtropical islands, many of which are probably volcanic, and her powers manifest accordingly.
That said, for this reason, I don't think the outward-pointing diamonds are pointing towards Te Fiti. Instead, if anything is present where those lines converge, it'd be a southern cold spirit... or perhaps Elsa is also linked to the antarctic regions as well. Another possibility is that there are three other Te Fitis spread across the world - perhaps the fire diamond (her ability to rejuvenate plant life could be linked to the Avatar theme of fire representing "energy and life" - noting that, like fire, life is primarily fueled by oxidation reactions) or earth diamond points to Te Fiti, and the other diamonds all point to similar deities.
It’s like Yue from ATLA. She has part of the Moon spirit within her when she was born, and then she later becomes one with the Moon spirit. Elsa has part of the fifth spirit in her because of her father being saved by the fifth spirit, and the rest of the spirit is left at Ahtohallan, which eventually calls to her so that Elsa can become one with the spirit.
They’re also similar because both of those “returning the heart” songs make me cry THANKS JAY!!!! 😭😭😭
I thought this was more or less explicitly canon in the second movie.
I was actually thinking more along the lines of Iduna's (Elsa's mom) song being a call to all spirits, not just one. The wind spirit is the one that responds and helps them (I think the wind spirit is quite friendly to Iduna since she was playing with it when she met Elsa's dad). The reason the voice of the one calling to Elsa is her mom is because her mom is the last person to call on the spirits with the song (the Northaldra (sp?) people either don't know the song (it was prob taught to Iduna by the wind spirit) or they didn't have a need to (they didn't realize they've been trapped for years)) The one who sent out the spirit call to Elsa is Atohallan itself either because Elsa has finally learned to control her powers and has come to her magical maturity (thus making her powerful enough to take her proper place as the fifth spirit) or because it has been nearly fifty years since the forest was closed off (Iduna and her husband were kids, teenagers at best when it happened and their kids were in their late teens when they left/died) and there had been a fifty year deadline for the Arendelle people to come and appease the spirits (it would explain why their parents left when they did, they could've gone before Elsa was born or after Elsa was old enough to take over as queen in their absence)
This could also open up the possibility of having other elemental princesses. Maybe in villains or even in even suddle ways, but I bet that in the next Disney princess movies we're going to be having a few new elemental princess movies, leading up to a elemental princess get together! WHICH could support the theory on having the disney crossover which could make Rapunzual somehow involved in all this princess stuff. Maybe she is one of the elements! But magical healing hair doesn't seem very likely. So she'll probablly have some even more important role when they have a big crossover, (Because seriously, how could they NOT do that.) Unless of course the crossover was supposed to be reck-it-ralph... Defintally not it. But they still probablly are going to have a movie dedicated to some sort of elemental crossover.
I do also believe that Moana is going to have some sort of descendant. (Ah descendants, looks like that's what's up.) Which will have some similar powers to Elsa. Because I think that Elsa is a descendant of an ICE GOD and Moana IS the WATER GOD, and sense Moana takes place a whole lot before Frozen, there's sometime for her and some person to get married have kids, and after a few generations, one of them has slightly less god like water powers and so on so on till the times of Frozen.
Oh and this generation is defintally going to be called the magical era.

Based on this theory, I want to propose that Elsa and Tefiti are yin-yang and I have proof:
The yin yang balance often refers to heaven and earth, like having the power to make space ice vs the power to create land masses with plant life.
The two also embody the ideas of being passive vs active, such as passively standing by as your heart is returned vs actively going out to restore your heart.
Also there’s the idea of heat and cold, which can be seen not only by the island locations but also plants need sunlight (heat) to thrive whereas ice needs to be cold.
There’s the idea of hard vs soft which is seen in the “heart logo” of both.
There’s big and small, which can be interpreted through the physical size of the two.
I’m sure there’s plenty more I can come up with but this is good enough for now

I think the next theory you guys should use as the main topic of a future video is "Why Were the Five Spirits Created" ( which could also be an idea for Frozen 3 )? Personally I think that their kinda tied with the lore of Tangled what with that franchise having objects that represent the sun and the moon. Maybe the forces who created those objects created the spirits as a way for those forces to inplement into the spirits so that they can control the world. However, they fought over who should own the spirits and the battle ends with the spirits leaving leaving with their creators only the sun drop and moon stone.

Maybe I'm weird. I always interpreted it that Elsa's mother wasn't calling the fifth spirit. Because the 5th spirt hadn't been created yet. She was calling Gail (wind spirit) to come and help her carry the prince to the wagon to hide. And when Elsa hears the call, its her mother calling her and when she gets to the island her mother showed her the memories and was finally able to speak (sing) to her. And then Elsa was able to finally be the fifth spirit and except her powers when she understood who and what she was.
I always saw it as Ahtohallan being the place where you find the truth out, and because water holds memories (something they mention loads) it kept the memories of her mother? And that was what was calling her? The memory of her mother? But then how was her mother singing to her? That can’t be a memory surely... now I’m confused again lol

Another point towards the video: we know from Moana’s Grandma that Te Fiti is a goddess of Earth and Fire (or at least Te Ka is, but land is created by cool magma so her powers fit Earth and Fire). In many cultures was seemed as a product of the Water and Air elements (air cools the water, bada bing bada boom!). So Elsa and Te Fiti are antipodes with their power set and the elements they inhabit!

So in my culture (I am Māori/Polynesian) the Koru is typically a symbol of fresh or new beginnings, which is why we gift them in the forms of jewellery, carvings or sculptures to new mothers. A lot of us girls in our families receive them as a coming of age totem alongside a pounamu, but it depends on which tribe you descend from.
This is more of a fact than a theory if you catch my drift ;)

This is my theory and breakdown of Frozen II - basically I think that when Elsa goes to that ice cave place thing (I forgot what it's called 😅) and she finds the compass and steps in the middle, I don't think it means _she_ (or ice) is the fifth spirit, I think it means the people are, more specifically, not just people, but the bridge between the forest people and the kingdom people, (once again I forgot what they're called) which in my opinion, that bridge is Elsa, she brings together forest people and kingdom people, in multiple ways, for one, when she is born, her mom is from the forest and her dad is from the kingdom, meaning she is kind of both, so as bringing them together, she also brings them together at the end of Frozen II, making it possible for them to communicate again, and get along, so my point is that Elsa isn't the fifth spirit, she represents the fifth spirit, which is the people and their friendship. I feel accomplished now 😄

Tifitie->element = earth -> goddess Gaia
? ->element = fire ->god Hephaestus/goddess Hestia
? ->element = air -> goddess HERA
? ->element = water -> goddess Amphitrite/god Poseidon
Now we need to find out what disney princess will take the form of water,air,and fire. Or is elsa consider a water goddess sense she is ice?
