I feel old after remembering the time when Frozen came out on theaters.
Same. 2013 feels like a century
@@chasehedges6775 ITS BEEN THAT LONG?!!!?!?????!
Same. It’s crazy it’s almost been 10 years
Holy crap sameeeeee
I was 8 when Frozen came out. I will be graduating high school next year.
Extra sin: there was a better confrontation song between the sisters in an earlier draft of the movie but when they changed some plot points they took out the song. The song is called life’s too short and includes some really good dialogue about how they each perceive their own and the other’s actions. It gives us better character development for both of the sisters while sound like an argument sisters would actually have.
I just went to find this and wow. This was such a good song and would have loved it in the movie. They actually sound like siblings here and I like that they struggle to understand each other and look at things from each other's perspective. Leaving this in would have made the ending a lot more satisfying.
Yes!! „Life’s too short“ is a THOUSAND times better then „For the first time in forever reprise“!!
I like the song, but it’s too happy and upbeat for that particular moment.
I LOVE THAT SONG
The movie could've been good if they made it years prior.
Once you realise the entire point of this movie is that love can suppress her powers, it makes a whole lot more sense that the only reason she had these outbursts of freezing is that all her sources of love were stripped from her.
If her parents hadn’t locked her away, there would be no movie, so yeah.
That's stupid. If her powers were that out of control how could she stop the ice from impaling that Weaselton guy? It stopped RIGHT before murking him. She has control of her powers, she didn't know how to unfreeze something.
@tanandalynch9441
Dude she accidentally caused an eternal winter and froze her sisters heart. That was bc of her panic. Her fear made her lose control of her powers, that is quite literally the main issue of the film
For the ice breaking the sword bit, you can literally see the blade freeze over where it touches Anna before it shatters. Frozen metal, especially thin like a blade, is pretty damn brittle.
When Anna freezes, her clothes and stuff she touches freezes as well. Hans's sword was near her hand, causing it to freeze and break, with the aftereffect knocking Hans out
Does this mean Pokemon is lying to us?
He's questioning what kind of ice breaks a sword? The answer is that Anna freezing caused the sword to freeze and break.
So metal breaks every winter - got it.
@@favoritemustard3542 Metal breaks whenever it's exposed to something very cold 🥶, such as Anna freezing here. Thankfully true love is what caused this in the first place, otherwise Elsa would have been dead and her power would die with her(Anna included).
The sequel really did paint their parents as even worse parents than they already were
Wait how so?? I dont rly remember
Think about it dog. Here it seems they didn't know better and trusted the trolls above their own trust in their parenting abilities. Dicks, but understandable. But in the sequel they KNEW about the magic and Elsa's gift and just said fuck it keep the child in isolation.
Yup they should have copied the whole storyline from Once upon a time for the second and not just the outline
Yeah, they really are terrible even though the movie WANTED to convince us that they weren't terrible because they sang a lullaby and told a bedtime story
Plenty of bad parents have done that
yeah, it went from them being somewhat clueless and negligent to outright terrible and dumber then a box of rocks
granted the fact no one correlated the dam being built in the second movie to the start of things going seriously weird and wrong in the magic forest makes all the adults and old folk look seriously stupid regardless
Also: The trolls abducted Kristoff.
they are shown to be able to change memmories in the movie, and one of the trolls litterally states "I'm goning to keep you" (or something like that haven't seen the movie in quite a while). Meanwhile Kristoff before was seen with the ice workers as a kid, and they state how hard it is to mend ice, making it unlikely that they'd just accept an sudden kid into their ranks, UNLESS they were one of their childeren.
so yeah, the trolls are definetly evil. DING
Hahah I love the “DING”
Also you are right tho, and it’s the trolls fault Elsa was isolated and not trained and the King just went along with it
Nah, a father would pay at least some attention to his kid. They probably let an orphan tag along, knowing he'd just starve to death otherwise.
I like the idea that the trolls mess with Hans (that smile under the boat is not a smile of "I'm going to use her to take over this kingdom) so that their guy gets into the palace.
The lore of trolls is that they kidnap “pretty blond children”, so, it sounds accurate!
Absolutely!
4:52 the consecutive “she will not”s killed me
4:51
In 2013 I was enamored just by the animation of Elsa’s powers.
In 2019 I was freaking out about the individual stitches being visible in clothing, the water animation that was so realistic it had to be toned down so that it fit the rest of the world, and the incredible visuals of making ice magic look like flames.
Happy Sinaversary, guys! I can't believe that you've been sinning movies for a full decade now!
Their content is always entertaining
Sorry I misread I thought u mean they been shitting on movies for a decade 🤣
Shoot longer than that. Frozen was at the peak of cinema sins one they had the format down. Damn near 2 decades.
I remember seeing his video on Krampus and ever since then I’ve loved it lol
Sinaversary.
* Ding *
6:49 "Not the singer in this movie that would be defying gravity"
That pun was wicked
i agree
came looking for this comment
YES WICKED
i love wicked musical and that song
This better be popular
17:23 After watching the Lock Picking Lawyer's channel, if that lock is made by Master Lock, I am absolutely convinced that the lock in that door could indeed be opened with a carrot.
I absolutely love the idea of going back and re-sinning the old videos that are only 3-5 minutes. I'm positive there's so much more to say in those videos. Happy Sinaversary.
It’s crazy to think that the original frozen is nearly a decade old!
Same. 2013 seems so long ago.
Disney should've let Tetsuya Nomura do what he needed to for Arendelle in Kingdom Hearts 3.
Yet from where I live, kids still show up to parks in Frozen stuff, totally unaware the fact that the movie that they're fangirling on is older than them.
Chew on this: This year ET turned 40, next year Return of the Jedi turns 40 & Jurassic Park turns 30, and 2 years after that Toy Story turns 30 and Jaws turns 50. And I was around to see it all.
the series wont fucking die yet
I remember watching the original video and one of the sins that really got me was the fact that when Anna and Hans were dancing on the lighthouse balcony, their shadows were visible on the ship sail in the next shot, but not the railing or the light house, was kind of disappointed that sin didn’t reappear in this video, but this is still a great video. Here’s to another 10 years, CinemaSins!
Don't reply to that, it's spam
@@Widdekuu91, yeah I know that. Thank you for the warning though.
@@bat-max Okay good, because someone I warned before, was about to reply to a (seemingly celebrity-)guy on FB and she was already confused why he was asking her to 'put webcam on to confirm it was the winner.'
Luckily she didn't do it, but it was sad to me, seeing someone use one of my favorite celebrities as a mask to lure girls to turn the webcam on.
The lighthouse light is shining on them so there wouldn't be any shadows on the lighthouse
@Attinger Brock Haha, sometimes they do too, but in this case, they try to get you to send pictures.
If I were a celebrity, I would be so upset if that happened under my name.
11:21 in his defense, I was more upset about totaling my car than I was happy to be unhurt when I got in a really bad wreck a month after I'd gotten my first car.
16:30 MatPat has a theory about Hans being possessed by the trolls
Happy 10 years CinemaSins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey I love your work
Been watching you since 2007
Remember it so we don’t have to.
I can't believe it's been 10 years!! Grats!!
😲
You missed one. Anna her sister been locked away for over a decade with their parents death. Meaning that other people have been running this country over that time and rather than putting them back in charge she gave power over to her people to a guy she met that day. How much did Anna hate the old caretaker
6:44 is funny when you realise the painting (‘The Happy Accidents of the Swing’ by Jean-Honoré Fragonard) Anna is posing as has a meaning behind it, the girl on the swing is the only one in the painting that knows everything happening in the scene, meanwhile in a juxtaposition, Anna is the the only one that doesn’t know what’s happening for most of the movie,
Just think it’s an interesting parallel (probably not intentionally tho lmao)
19:17 ikr the real ones know that steel is super effective against ice
lol
Ice skates mark up ice extremely effectively and quickly.. never seen the ice do that back to the skate blades
The thing that always got me was that a water mage/bender/elementalist/godess would make the kingdom the most badass place ever. Elsa's powers were on such a level that even untrained she could control the environment within 100ish kilometers. and that's bloody nuts.
She knew "the force" ?
Not to mention the giant snow monster she creates which turns itself into an even deadlier form, and the walls of spiked ice, the skates she makes for Anna imply she could make blades, the clothing she makes must tend towards some for of protection if not armor, and she technically wouldn't need a standing army with armor or weapons as she could create one out of thin air.
@@damienknapp1667 So basically, this movie was one step away from being a "Empress Elsa uses her powers over Ice to rebel against King Mickey, and take over the Kingdom"?
Goddess
@@princessazulaofthefirenati5870 No, he didn't misspell "Goddess," he was clearly speaking of the "Love Godess," of which a single bite, leaves you with a feeling of "amaizment & instantly falls in love," and "...grows from the tree of love..." found in the "mystical gardens of pradeeze."
Citation: Urban Dictionary
Spelling errors don't exist on the internet, and correcting someone's grammar is seen as "bullying," by RUclips, Twitter, and Facebook.
Though I'm still trying to figure out what "amaizment &" and "pradeeze" are.
Even CinemaSins can't avoid remakes anymore, what has this world come to?!?!
I mean doing remakes just to do remakes is one thing, but they're doing it for the 10th year anniversary, so it's not really that big of a deal if they do it once lol. Remakes themselves aren't bad (e.g. remaking old DOOM game to new DOOM), just a lot of companies over do it now by releasing something and then waiting a few years to remake the exact same, or usually worse, thing.

4:22 This is clearly a dude in armor who was just standing there in case of the likely event that this happened. The sin _should_ be for his creepiness.
12:37 Indeed, plus keeping a secret from another will only cause more chaos than before, with 1. Being betrayed by his friends and 2. Itll cause stress. COUGH COUGH- Elsa's parents

@Tanman230 that's wrong, it hasn't hit December 11th yet.
@@SuperBoop look at the description on the vid
0:40
I always thought this shot was Beautiful.
The ice and the orangey-pinkish light shining through it was spectacular.
18:36 counteract sin / sin removal: thats because its an ice slope where its hard to walk on, wheras in this scenario, its a flat surface, which makes it a bit easier to walk (if you have spiked shoes that helps you get a grip on the icy surface) or slide through.
(And yes, you can slide through an ice slope, but the speed of how you slide is more faster than a regular slide given that its an icy surface, and theres is a chance that you might not be able to stop yourself from sliding even further, (since the ice surface has no friction unlike regular slides) which could, as a result, injure yourself if you slid into a hard surface)
17:00 Does Hans have any idea how treason works? What he’s doing is closer to the definition of treason than anything Elsa’s done.
18:52 still my favorite part of the movie. I’ve always loved how they handle the “act of true love”
yeah I didn't like this movie very much because Disney music does nothing for me and aside from that it doesn't do anything very well. But that bit at the ending was really nice, was the only thing in this movie that wasn't painfully predictable.
I would like this movie so much more if Elsa was the villain and it all being about how bottling up your emotions is a bad thing and makes evil people. It actually seems like they wanted that to be the case but some producer heard Let It Go with a symphony of “cha-ching” in the background and realized they could make so much more money otherwise
Yeah I kind of agree. Imagine her and Anna were friends until Elsa became the villain that everyone made her out to be, Anna starts believing that she’s a villain too, until at the end Anna learns that Elsa wasn’t the villain she was made out to be.
69th like
I don't think it even needed a villain at all. They could have had Hans kiss Anna, and to his dismay it doesn't cure her. He runs off with Anna to find Kristoff, assuming Kristoff must be Anna's true love. Kristoff has gone to tell Elsa what's happening to her sister. Something happens - maybe Elsa's magic flies completely out of control in grief. In the chaos, Anna sacrifices herself to save Elsa, and the spell is broken. The 'villain' in this instance is circumstance, similar to how a lot of Ghibli movies work, and the movie would be so much richer for it.
How does bottling up your emotions make you a villain? You don't need to bring in money as the same reason the story wasn't that good. Who could've known what plot the movie should have to be "very successful" to earn "much more" money?
@@toukendanshiwarrior2846 plot that makes sense obviously 👴
12:14 grass is also a weed and we don't shun it as much as we do dandelions.

hey you are first
14 hours ago when the video was upload 10 min ago? 🤔
4:45 I mean... the point IS that Elsa and Anna had terrible parents whose bad decisions pretty much broke both of their daughters, even before the Northuldra thing came out. Elsa's a dangerously repressed bundle of guilt and anger, while Anna's so desperate for affection that she falls for the first guy who's nice to her. They're some of the only Disney parents whose deaths don't seem particularly tragic.
14:31 the snow above Christoff is completely untouched, as if he never fell there.
7:26 Maybe it is something like in the British monarchy, where queen Elizabeth II was seen holding the regalia with bare hands during her coronation, but servants carrying them wearing gloves during her funeral?
No sin for Kristoff acting super concerned when Sven falls into the water. Reindeer are extremely great swimmers and somebody that has spend their entire life around one should know that.
It’s also freezing cold water so hypothermia is probably a concern
Plus thts his friend fallin into frozen water
As far as we know Kristoff has never been in a situation where he had to witness Sven swimming, so your point is mute
How about a sin for Elsa's power ballad about the "cold never bothering her anways" when she spent her whole life terrified of her powers and rejecting every attempt from her parents to overcome that fear only accepting advice and actions that would allow her to double down on that fear?
Because her statement doesn't contradict her fears? She wasn't afraid of the ice... she was afraid of hurting her sister, and those she loved.
hold on, what exactly did her parents do to help her overcome her fear besides tell her to bottle it up?
@@KaylaTheKindOne Of course, it's because they took her to some trolls, had Anna's mind wiped, isolated Anna from Elsa, got themselves killed for a cure despite it not being a curse from a Witch, and then didn't rewrite the rules to allow Elsa to wear gloves while getting crowned?
You know, the normal stuff Disney parents do when they aren't being killed off.... earlier.
@@wolfrainexxx yeahhh they really fucked up. not sure what movies the original commenter watched lmao
@@KaylaTheKindOne Don't worry, OP and the 65 people that like his comments are going to blame the Mandela effect rather their own shoddy memories for why Frozen never shows the parents do any parenting.

Sven returned the nose back "Because Disney doesn't trust the audience to handle permadeath, so opts instead direct small children with f*cked up examples of love"
16:25 this entire rant about Hans being a jerk is so fricking hilarious!
6:54 at first I thought you were going to acknowledge about the fact Rapunzel is there
In choir, everyone was freaking out about Rapunzel. That was a year after it came out.
I never even noticed that and I’ve watched Frozen twice 😮🤩
17:37 *That sin needed no explanation* 😂🤌
To answer the question as to how Olaf knows what he does about heat, summer and unicorns: the answer exists in the spinoff short "Once Upon a Snowman". Basically, Olaf sees a few slides in a Viewfinder. Also, the "water has memory" theme of Frozen 2 (which makes you wonder if homeopathy is the medicinal practice of choice in Arendelle).
Source: parent of a 3 year old who has seen all of the Frozen content on Disney+ multiple times.
Okay but if you have to go to a different source to get information, then the sun holds as it wasn't explained in what was being sinned.
7:58 What's worse is you think the Moon will collide with the Earth but the reality is MUCH worse. Anyone want to be boiled alive by the atmosphere?
It's hard to believe this movie came out almost 10 years ago. I feel old.
To me it’s not hard to believe. I was a couple months away from being 25 when this movie came out. If you think 10 years is a long time then I’m guessing you’re in your early twenties or younger
You think that's something? It's hard to believe that even that amount of time later, it's STILL being overmerchandised to death, even having a STAGE MUSICAL and partly appearing in a DISNEY ON-ICE SHOW! Can you believe that?!
If this movie gets a Disney On-Ice show, then where's WALL-E's? Where's The Lion King's? Where's Aladdin's? Where's Lilo and Stitch's?
7:47 seems like a clear case of a movie adding extra sounds that make no sense or are unnecessary.
9:18 This is where the movie completely lost me. Arendelle doesn't have a Council? Or a Regent? Or ANYBODY to be in charge of the kingdom while the ONLY remaining member of the royal family goes off to search for her sister? I mean, three years elapsed between the death of the king and queen and Elsa's coronation - who was running the kingdom during those three years? They should have still been around. And why would anyone be OK with a foreign prince being in charge?
11:56 Rooooll credits!
I love this little siniversary!
More of these for older 5-10m vids would be awesome! :)
Siniversary: that’s excellent!
Man, going from 96 sins to 143 sins sure makes a difference.
But he did remove sins in this vid :D
@@KALIMAindiawell I mean when you have Let It Go in the movie, that’s an automatic “take a sin off”. I’m kinda uneven on Frozen, but that song and sequence is absolutely incredible
Sin #28 -- not just children's tears! I was watching this the 1st time on TV while cooking dinner, humming along to the songs and then this scene and I was like "what?!?" then Anna comes in with the different rendition and bam! Disney got me, right in the heart
Additional sin: Also, does anyone know where the heck Anna is at 6:22 during "For the First Time in Forever"? This forest can't be within Arendelle's gates. Look at the castle at the end of the movie and you will see there is no way for that big garden to fit in that little courtyard. Either she sneaked out while no one was looking or was free and didn't know it. I still can't figure it out.
Nice, this was the first ever EWW video that I ever saw and I've been hooked ever since! This channel has saved me from a lot of bad movies, and has even made me notice new things about movies I love.
That's pretty cool. I honestly don't remember how I got introduced to cinemasins.

The CinemaSins writers consistently say on their own podcast that you should not take what they say as a review and not use these videos as a determination of whether or not you should watch a movie. The whole idea of CinemaSins is supposed to be tongue in cheek not legit criticism
Mine too!
NEVER use this channel as a real review (please). They are not critics, this is just comedy. And you shouldn't purposefully spoil the entire movie before you watch that's just fucking stupid.

I'll give props for the sauna pronunciation tho, greetings from Finland
12:28 thats actually explained in Frozen 2, since they say water has memory, and Olaf is made from ice (tecnically water), that means he knows all that stuff bcs he tecnically was there.. wait, does that also mean he saw Anna's and Elsa's parents die?!?!?!
Hans says he's gonna kill Elsa as part of his evil plan, but he had plenty of opportunity before and just didn't take it. Like he literally *saved her life* from that guy shooting her with an arrow

7:20 Well like you said; he‘s wearing new clothes so of course he’s dry. And he changed them to mirror Anna’s clothes.
8:27 Elsa can have ice come from her feet wich are in shoes but not from her gloved hand because she BELIVES that the gloves keep her from doing magic. Her powers are linked to her emotions so if she BELIEVES in something she CAN do it. The gloves don’t actually stop her powers, it’s just the placebo-effect.
8:39 Yes, Elsa had perfect control of her powers until the trolls showed her that vision & that’s what made her fear her powers & herself.
