I’m sure it wasn’t 3 days. Mother Gothel was still on her way out when she saw the horse. At the start of the movie, Rapunzel sings “TOMORROW night, the lights will appear, just like they do on my birthday each year”.
1 sin for not following the timeline of the movie.
It definitely wasn't 3 days. She comes across the horse (Max) almost immediately after leaving. By the time she makes her way back to the tower Rapunzel is gone but not far. That's how Mother Gothel could get to the Snuggly Duckling and see Rapunzel there. She was basically right behind her.
Definitely 1 sin for not following the timeline of the movie. And 1 sin for giving a false sin.

I feel like the tear is to represent the “single drop” that fell from the sun, because the single tear drops when rapunzel finishes singing the healing incantation and the symbol of the flower appears on his skin before soaking in.

I mean it's good that they did that, but they should have just not created them in the first place :') The magic is so inconsistent. That said, I don't think any of the points made in this vid actually put me off. It's still a good story with great characters. Disney just need to get beta readers for their scripts. I don't understand why authors do this but movies don't.

I feel like it’d make more sense for the song not to be necessary. Her mother consumed the Sundrop Flower, and was healed. Rapunzel basically is the Sundrop Flower. So Rapunzels powers should constantly be healing & rejuvenating her. Explaining how she has so much relative strength. Rendering her immortal.

Another sin: Rapunzel has no brothers or sisters. REALLY, the king and queen lose their one true heir, and just go "ah, fuck it, no more kids, bloodline is lost". All in hope that Rapunzel one day comes back, when in any situation, she's dead in 24 hours. The king and queen suck at being king and queen.
Either they were too devastated to have more kids or the queen has trouble with pregnancy and, because Rapunzel could heal, the first pregnancy was able to turn out okay.
Even if the king and queen die without Rapunzel returning, the bloodline won't die because then the crown will probably go to a brother of the king or queen.
It seems like in a lot of fairy tales, the queen always has difficulty having children, so that might be why they don't have any more children. Oh, and it shows in this movie that she was sick while having Rapunzel, so that proves my theory.

Actually no, I remember seeing a movie theory about her hair and it would be possible because the human neck can support a ton of weight, it would just be super painful. And her hair normally wouldn't grow that fast and be that long at her age but that can just be attributed to the magic.
But, if it's been that long for years surely her neck muscles must have gotten used to it? Sure, she has it down most of the time but I suppose it's possible.
If it's 1/5 of a pound per foot, and there are about 200 feet of it, that would be a very manageable 40 pounds. She had better make sure to keep it dry, though.

Disney's biggest sin is not respecting source material to begin with. Examples: Ariel is supposed to die at end of Little Mermaid, Rapunzel is a woodcutters daughter who marries a knight, not a thief. Snow Queen (on which Frozen is based) doesn't have one event, one character in common with Frozen!

The anti-aging properties of the flower actually make sense. If I remember correctly, the reason u age is b/c each time ur cells replicate their DNA is slightly damaged. So that means that the flower heals her DNA.

Tangled was my favorite movie when I was younger. I thought it was pretty funny seeing you sin it, but you guys also used two audios from Princess Bride at the end which is freaking awesome.
Rapunzal's hair changes length throughout the story.
In the scene where she's singing at the beginning it's insanely long, going around the room multiple times.
Then, when she's tying up Flynn to throw him in the wardrobe, it's much shorter.
Then there's the time where her hair gets twice as long while she drops from the tower, it was barely long enough to pull Mother Gothal up, and now she's doubling it up and there's enough length?
Despite all of these sins, I still think that Tangled is one of the best 3D animated Disney movies, right alongside Bolt (but not Frozen).

Maximus didn't have 3 days. At the beginning song, Rapunzel said her birthday was the next day. They're in the city on her birthday. Maximus had a few hours at best, and caught Mother Gothel on her way out towards the place where the shells could be found.

It's mentioned in the movie that Rapunzel is 18 years old. According to the animators for Tangled, Flynn Rider is supposed to be 26 years old.

The tear thing is actually legit cool. The original ORIGINAL Rapunzel fairy tail has the prince get his eyes gouged out by thorns that the witch made. Rapunzel cried when she found him and her tears cleared his eyes and healed then so they did a cool job of tying the "tear heals the lover" into the movie

Flynn was supposed to be a prince and Rapunzel was the daughter of a VERY poor cabbage farmer who stole from a witches vegetable patch. Yup. Rapunzel says "tomorrow's my birthday [and I want to see the floating lights]", so it can't have been three days, otherwise they would have missed the lantern show.
However, why did it take her so long to go so short of a distance? Maximus was hunting for Flynn (horribly might I add) not too long before he encountered her, which meant he was still in the immediate area of the secret passage to the tower where Mother Gothel had just left. So.... did that whole thing about Rapunzel's deal with Flynn, her singing triumphantly about leaving the tower, then arguing with herself about it, AND leaving for the snuggly duckling happen in like... 2 minutes or was she temporarily deaf for an hour? Damn Mother Gothel! Guess you needed that magic hair more than we thought :-/....

Why would mother Gothel tell Rapunzel about birthdays to begin with? If she doesn't tell her about the concept of birthdays Rapunzel would never think that a birthday is a special thing to begin with, so no birthday presents and the floating lights would just be some other odd day

Her hair is blonde because Disney Magic. By that I mean she absorbed the magic in the flower and it for some reason only affected her hair.

I think the point of mother gothel rapidly aging at the end is because the magic is gone completely and the spell in reversed or something. Every other time Rapunzels hair is cut, only the cut piece turns brown, but when Flynn cuts the majority off, even the hair on her head turns brown. I think that was meant to show the magic disappearing. They could’ve explained it better though
