That's how Mother Gothel could get to the Snuggly Duckling and see Rapunzel there. She was basically right behind her. Definitely 1 sin for not following the timeline of the movie. And 1 sin for giving a false sin.
Imagine if Rapunzel as a teenager decided that her hair was too much of a nuisance and decided to just cut it? Mother Gothel would come home and Rapunzel was like "Mother, Mother! I cut my hair, it's short now! Do you like it?"

Her hair isn't blond at the roots. Her parents both have brown hair, so it only makes sense that Rapunzel's natural hair color is brown. You can think about the golden magic like an overlay effect. If the golden hair is cut off, the hair gets back to normal.

The tear thing is actually legit cool. The original ORIGINAL Rapunzel fairy tail has the prince get his eyes gouged out by thorns that the witch made. Rapunzel cried when she found him and her tears cleared his eyes and healed then so they did a cool job of tying the "tear heals the lover" into the movie

Flynn was supposed to be a prince and Rapunzel was the daughter of a VERY poor cabbage farmer who stole from a witches vegetable patch. Another sin: Rapunzel has no brothers or sisters. REALLY, the king and queen lose their one true heir, and just go "ah, fuck it, no more kids, bloodline is lost". All in hope that Rapunzel one day comes back, when in any situation, she's dead in 24 hours. The king and queen suck at being king and queen.
Either they were too devastated to have more kids or the queen has trouble with pregnancy and, because Rapunzel could heal, the first pregnancy was able to turn out okay.
Even if the king and queen die without Rapunzel returning, the bloodline won't die because then the crown will probably go to a brother of the king or queen.
It seems like in a lot of fairy tales, the queen always has difficulty having children, so that might be why they don't have any more children. Oh, and it shows in this movie that she was sick while having Rapunzel, so that proves my theory.

Maximus didn't have 3 days. At the beginning song, Rapunzel said her birthday was the next day. They're in the city on her birthday. Maximus had a few hours at best, and caught Mother Gothel on her way out towards the place where the shells could be found. 2 sins for every time you failed to realize that.

Why doesn't mother Gothel create a new normal identity for her and Rapunzel in another far off kingdom after the heat die's down and on the off chance anyone asks she can say her daughter simply 'looks' like the princess. This can't be the only kingdom. And she's had 18 years to get as far away as possible.
I never thought about that but she could have. With frozen we know she could get to arendel pretty easily because repunzel makes an appearance in that movie so the witch could have just gone there
I think mother gothel wanted to keep repunzel locked up because she wanted the power of her hair to only be her and she didn't want anyone else to know about it because she probably thought other people would want try to kidnap her

You missed a big one, buddy. During the "Mother knows best" song, in the scene where rapunzel lights a candle, she clearly lights it with a match, which were not invented during the time period this movie takes place.

Eh, it's not necessary for teenagerdom ;) I never snuck out once and I still felt that my teenage years were pretty fulfilling (then again, my mom and I had a pretty mutual sense of respect for one another, and she tried to be fairly accommodating while making it pretty clear why certain situations ended outright with a "No, that's not happening". I consider myself fairly lucky in those regards).
Yup. Rapunzel says "tomorrow's my birthday [and I want to see the floating lights]", so it can't have been three days, otherwise they would have missed the lantern show.
However, why did it take her so long to go so short of a distance? Maximus was hunting for Flynn (horribly might I add) not too long before he encountered her, which meant he was still in the immediate area of the secret passage to the tower where Mother Gothel had just left. So.... did that whole thing about Rapunzel's deal with Flynn, her singing triumphantly about leaving the tower, then arguing with herself about it, AND leaving for the snuggly duckling happen in like... 2 minutes or was she temporarily deaf for an hour? Actually no, I remember seeing a movie theory about her hair and it would be possible because the human neck can support a ton of weight, it would just be super painful. And her hair normally wouldn't grow that fast and be that long at her age but that can just be attributed to the magic.
But, if it's been that long for years surely her neck muscles must have gotten used to it? Sure, she has it down most of the time but I suppose it's possible.

Rapunzal's hair changes length throughout the story. In the scene where she's singing at the beginning it's insanely long, going around the room multiple times. Then, when she's tying up Flynn to throw him in the wardrobe, it's much shorter. Then there's the time where her hair gets twice as long while she drops from the tower, it was barely long enough to pull Mother Gothal up, and now she's doubling it up and there's enough length?
The tear healing him actually makes sense if you know the story of Rapunzel where the prince got blinded and she healed his eyes with her tears

Rapunzel cried when she found him and her tears cleared his eyes and healed then so they did a cool job of tying the "tear heals the lover" into the movie

Another sin: Rapunzel has no brothers or sisters. REALLY, the king and queen lose their one true heir, and just go "ah, fuck it, no more kids, bloodline is lost". All in hope that Rapunzel one day comes back, when in any situation, she's dead in 24 hours. The king and queen suck at being king and queen.
Either they were too devastated to have more kids or the queen has trouble with pregnancy and, because Rapunzel could heal, the first pregnancy was able to turn out okay.
Even if the king and queen die without Rapunzel returning, the bloodline won't die because then the crown will probably go to a brother of the king or queen.
It seems like in a lot of fairy tales, the queen always has difficulty having children, so that might be why they don't have any more children. Oh, and it shows in this movie that she was sick while having Rapunzel, so that proves my theory.

Maximus didn't have 3 days. At the beginning song, Rapunzel said her birthday was the next day. They're in the city on her birthday. Maximus had a few hours at best, and caught Mother Gothel on her way out towards the place where the shells could be found.

However, why did it take her so long to go so short of a distance? Maximus was hunting for Flynn (horribly might I add) not too long before he encountered her, which meant he was still in the immediate area of the secret passage to the tower where Mother Gothel had just left. So.... did that whole thing about Rapunzel's deal with Flynn, her singing triumphantly about leaving the tower, then arguing with herself about it, AND leaving for the snuggly duckling happen in like... 2 minutes or was she temporarily deaf for an hour? Damn Mother Gothel! Guess you needed that magic hair more than we thought :-/....

Actually no, I remember seeing a movie theory about her hair and it would be possible because the human neck can support a ton of weight, it would just be super painful. And her hair normally wouldn't grow that fast and be that long at her age but that can just be attributed to the magic.
But, if it's been that long for years surely her neck muscles must have gotten used to it? Sure, she has it down most of the time but I suppose it's possible.
If it's 1/5 of a pound per foot, and there are about 200 feet of it, that would be a very manageable 40 pounds. She had better make sure to keep it dry, though.

Then there's the time where her hair gets twice as long while she drops from the tower, it was barely long enough to pull Mother Gothal up, and now she's doubling it up and there's enough length?
