When I was a kid, me and all the other kids in school used to love this guy, and used to imitate him, but for some reason all the grown-ups we knew HATED him! I'm 51 now, though, and I still miss those commercials.
Unfortunately that’s not his voice, it’s Blake Clark’s voice. Him and Jim Varney were best friends while Jim did acting, Blake did comedy. They met at the Comedy Store. Sorry to break the news to ya.
There are many fictional characters with the name "Vern" or "Verne" that help me remember my neighbor's name, whose name is spelled "Verne". Ernest P. Worrell's unseen friend Vern, and Verne the turtle from the comic strip/2006 Dreamworks Animation film Over the Hedge...oh and yeah, the late actor Verne Troyer who was known for playing Mini Me in Austin Powers.
Haha, I didn't realize there are so many fictional Vern(e)s! And it's so cool that your neighbor's name is Verne. My name is also Verne, and a lot of people I meet are surprised by that for whatever reason. They tend to mispronounce it, too, so I always tell them, "like Jules Verne."
As a kid growing up in the 80’s watching Ernest, this man made my childhood so memorable and fun.😀
I miss him too
R.I.P. 🪦Jim Varney

I'm 64, and I've always been a fan.
I remember when I first saw these hey Vern commercials was around 1984 when I was in 4th grade
China is reportedly on all US military bases being trained by our treasonous whoever
THINK GOD
I miss this guy ...
That’s awesome ! I’m jelly ! Where did you meet him?
Do you know what me too I think about him lot more information on his website own character than most more
I love this guy ❤
Slinky lost his marbles those days
Ernest P. Worrell as himself
"Ya knew what I mean?"
Ok but why does the HBO/Cinemax rap music @1:01 sound like the beginning of “Sunflower” by Post Malone?!
I didn’t see it at first… but after he started waving his hands, I swear I saw Ernest. John Cena looks like Jim Varney! ❤
Hey Vern know what I mean?
Kinda. imgur.com/a/dQxo0Fw
He's the voice of slinky dog from all 4 toy story movies but they reused his voice for toy story 3 and 4

@@JM_Friends it's cool they both sound the same
@@cherrybledsoe3638 I know it’s so tearjerking. Blake wanted to honor Jim and try to talk like Slinky exactly how Jim did so.
and now we know
@@oom-1497 yeah dosent he know the he died in 2000
My personal favorite "Ernest" commercial: ruclips.net/video/AdajdLhWDy4/видео.html

Can someone explain to a guy outside the US why he keeps saying "Vern" all the time? lol
That's just his "friend" who we never meet.
@@eurekayess I see thanks :)
