- A trip to Zurich, a mink coat, a Broyhill bedroom, and a Datsun B-210 Hatchback are among the prizes offered on this edtion of The Hollywood Squares, featuring Bernadette Peters, Wayland & Madame, Earl Holliman, Isabel Sanford, George Gobel, Demond Wilson, Susan George, David Birney, and Paul Lynde.
A Datsun, a fur coat, and a Zippo lighter, about as 1970's as it gets.
Peter Marshall in this role is as good as casting gets.
Especially considering how much more relaxed the atmosphere was compared to the later versions that he wouldn't find appropriate, especially since the audience would just go rowdy simply everytime a stars' name was called, making it feel more like a pep rally.
im 49 this year and was very young watching hollywood squares (you didn't get some of the jokes when a child). LOVE these chances to relive childhood

I agree. Some of the jokes went over my head as a child. Now I get them :)
Paul Lynde's little wink to his orientation with his, "I don't even have a bluff" answer😁
Love Paul Lynde s remarks on the show
Eisenhower was quite the egomaniac, getting your pjs outfitted with your medals&stars
Classic Hollywood Squares with Louise "WEEZY"Jefferson(Isabel Sanford)& Lamont Sanford(Demond Wilson) on the same show!!--& THEY WERE BOTH SECRET SQUARES in the 2nd & 3rd rounds!!
The Hollywood Squares was really fun and enjoyable!
Hollywood Squares is a TV Educational game of Knowledge Of Questions and Answers
Knowledge & bluffing 😁
Except when the answers were untrue.
How the mighty fall! 1968, they're giving away Pontiac Firebirds. 1969, an AMC Javelin. 1973, a Chevy Vega. 1976, a fucking Datsun.
Ha, ha, ha!
Love Susan George and Bernadette Peters... 😆
Every chance I get!
I had a B-210 Hatchback that color!
With “nylon carpeting and vinyl upholstery”? Nice
You gotta love Madam!
Kenny Williams = Best Announcer Ever.
Those Maytag washers were extremely well built in the 70's. My mom kept hers for 30 years. The eustachian tube is in the ear not the nose. Peter muffed that one.
he said "the nose. or in other words the head" and the contestant agreed so he still got the square as he should
@@revinevan87 You took the words out of my mouth!
Connects ear canal and pharynx says former student of anatomy (esp female anatomy) 😍
Panelists:
1. Isabel Sanford
2. George Gobel
3. Demond Wilson
4. Earl Halloman
5. Suzanne George
6. David Birney
7. Bernadette Peters
8. Wayland and Madame
9. Paul Lynde
The guy won a Datsun B210.
That:s like winning a Pinto with a target painted on the gas tank.
Love the campy musiv
Demond Wilson is super-knowledgeable. Too bad she assumed otherwise.
The fact that he took so long to answer, and had previously said it was not what turned out to be the correct answer, probably made her think he was just guessing.
How do you know he's 'super-knowledgeable' or that 'she assumed otherwise'?
@yankee2666 I know he's super -knowledgeable because I know a little something about his personal life. And if she were armed with that knowledge, she might not have made every other selection of personality in the squares instead of making an obvious choice, and then she would have trusted his answer.
Peter Marshall screwed up at about 19 minutes - Paul Lynde gave the right answer but he was joking so they let him continue and he then gave an incorrect answer - Marshall should have told him the answer was correct as soon as Lynde said it - it's not "who wants to be a millionaire" - there's no final answer condition on the squares.
I never realize that they knew the answers.
The stars were briefed before the show on the subject matter, but they were hearing the questions for the first time on the show.
Wow Susan George also in Dirty Mary crazy Larry and Venom
susan george wow....
Bill Silva ruled the dry look
Well, for the British viewers, I guess we found David Dickinson's symbiotic twin....
When I was a kid back in the '70s we went to a barber who called his shop 'The Dry Look'... no greasy kids stuff in the '70s! lol
Those Datsun's were good cars you rarely see them today as they were driven to death. I did see one restored not long ago it was gorgeous. Probably get's better mileage than all the ugly plastic Challengers and Camaros with V8's these days
'Scusé? You see Datsuns all over the place today--and you always have. They just changed the brand name to NISSAN about 30 years ago. (There are actually people who still don't know this? Wow. Wonder if they know that Hitler's brother-in-law is gonna be POTUS for at least 3 more years...)
@@davidfritz1331 How did you get that from what he wrote? He wrote: "you rarely see them today as they were driven to death" How did you get: "You see Datsuns all over the place today" from that? lol.
Nice
I was -4 when this aired 😃
I was 31.
a mink coat...oh my
I like Wayland flowers and Madam she was so funny and Hollywood squares
She was a he but I know what you mean😊
Madam said the nose the bartender said he disagreed Peter Marshall God love him generalized it as the entirety of the head between the ears and the throat which technically includes the nose area Circle should have had another question because X was wrong Peter Marshall enhanced the possibility Peter Marshall should have been buzzed wrong.
20:16
Was that Colin Mochrie in the _Friend or Foe_ bumper?!
15:25 Wakanda Forever! :D
he didn't say the head he said the nose
Bernadette Peters smoking before it was banned..
Hot = Susan George in Straw Dogs
Susan George had just done a Mexican "Jaws" rip-off called "Tintorera".
I was wondering. I actually wiki-ed.
Demond Wilson is still living but I think he retired from acting.
Bernadette Peters is still doing very well on Broadway.
I don't know about Susan George.
Peter Marshall is still going- he's got to be in his 90's now.
The rest have all since died.
My gay men's chorus has performed with Bernadette Peters.
HAHAHAHAH THE BEST JOKE IN THE LOT RIGHT BEFORE 21:23
Demond had terrible grammar
That madam dude was flame
No secret.
