Glad I watched this game show when new, for years. I always liked Paul Lynde's humor. When you watch old game show eps from the 1960s and 1970s now days, and you had watched them back then, the prizes are historical and will cause you to remember them from having lived back then. I always liked John Byner. He was a talented impersonator.

I'm surprised that Peter Marshall is still alive at age 96. He's the second oldest living longtime game show host. Bob Barker is a couple of years older than Marshall. Peter Marshall's son was an MLB baseball player too

@@JasonA.Routhier-vw1wdAnd he would also make several appearances on Tom Bergeron’s version during “Game Show Week,” not as a panelist but in a few backstage segments, one of them was where he spotted Tom Bergeron’s prank where Tom changed the sign from “The Bob Barker Studio” to “The Tom Bergeron Studio” to which Bob replied “As Iffffff!”
Another segment was on the Thursday episode of “Game Show Week,” the same episode where Tom Bergeron and Peter Marshall traded places for most of that episode and Bob told Tom that “Peter Marshall was brilliant on Hollywood Squares! I wonder who’s hosting now?” and Tom replied with a blank stare and look on his face.

FIRST OF THE ORIGINAL SQUARES HAD THE "TACKY BUZZER" that was not a horn-- not on Peter Marshall.s show but on John Davidson,s Squares THEY HAD AN ACTUAL CAR HORN THAT SOUNDED WHEN TIME WAS UP!! that I liked along with Peter Marshall.s tacky buzzer. Finally on Tom Bergeron,s Squares THEY HAD A SOUND THAT SOUNDED LIKE A HIGH PITCHED KAZOO!! I.admit I was not crazy about the Bergeron era,s TIME,S UP cue!! Peter Marshall,s tacky buzzer & John Davidson,s car horn were BOTH essential to the first 2 versions of The Hollywood Squares &The New Hollywood Squares!!
