Back in the 1970s it was common to ask this question: "Would you rather get shot in the foot, or sleep with Marty Allen?" Most women said 'Shot in the foot!'
No, not to my 69 year old eyes. F.F. has more glamour, but if you want to say they resemble each other, fine. There's a little difference, and I can see it. July 31, 2021
Actually, Hollywood Squares helped Burt out early in his career, when things weren't going so well. He never forgot that. When his career took off, he still would come back occasionally, as a thank you for the help they gave him. Shows the kind of man he is.
It would have been nice if they had most of the cast of The Electric Company on The Hollywood Squares as well as regulars Rose Marie Paul Lynde and George Gobel or when they did their STORYBOOK SQUARES bit--THEY SHOULD HAVE DID "THE ELECTRIC COMPANY SQUARES".
It would have been extra nice if Geoff Edwards from The New Treasure Hunt & Jack Barry from The Jokers Wild would have appeared on The Hollywood Squares with Peter Marshall!!
Panelists: 1. Earl Holloman 2. Karen Valentine 3. Jonathan Winters 4. Bonnie Franklin 5. Burt Reynolds 6. Rose Marie 7. Marty Allen 8. Ed McMahon 9. Paul Lynde
What was that odd bird screech Peter Marshall abruptly made... Weird... maybe it was that very funny but subtle one liner straight faced answer Karen Valentine made.
Peter Marshall had to be one of the most friendly , congenial and fun hosts ever to be on a game show!
Great episode!!
Love the classics
I sat next to Karen Valentine at a convention in the 90's and she still looked young and lovely, and was very poised.
Karen Valentine was so adorable, and still is!
agree completely and what about the lady contestant, not bad either.
Loved this day time night time show back in the 70s 80s and 60s !
Karen Valentine's quip at 15:48 flew completely under the radar, at least with Peter.
15:40 legend!!!!

It's pretty 😎 to watch these shows derived from an old VHS recording, a second chance at life if you will
Agreed I was about 8 when room 222 come on in 68 what a cutie she's like 74 now
Fun fact: Cis went on to be an actress on shows like Matt Houston.
I have not been to London before
This was a different time. Look at those prizes.
Yep.
Ed and Marty giving Karen Valentine the business was funny.
The woman contestant looks like actress Farrah Fawcett!
She actually became a double for Cheryl Ladd.

Panel: Burt Reynolds, Rose Marie, Marty Allen, Ed McMahon, Paul Lynde (center square), Bonnie Franklin, Jonathan Winters, Karen Valentine & Earl Holliman.
I like Karen Valentine should be best known as the character on room 222 is my favorite show
Always thought Burt lost a poker game, and this was his payback.

Cis Rundle was the name of Hugh Hefner's secretary, maybe ,not her, but, she is definitely pretty enough.
@@MichaelSimmons. Not just that, but he ends up producing a few game shows as well, with Bert Convy.

Nice tribute on Ann Sheridan question.

2024!! Hollywood Squares now 58 year anniversary!!
I think true.
This was Taped in Spring 1976.
This is actually from 1976, not 1977.
What was that odd bird screech Peter Marshall abruptly made... Weird... maybe it was that very funny but subtle one liner straight faced answer Karen Valentine made.
I don't know but Peter Marshall looks like someone who's just had about 4 gin and tonics....
LOL, I agree...Listen to his speech.
Heater-Quigley kept booze around and wine with catered meals. Kept the talent loose, so to speak.
Women in the 70s did weird things
