I've had two concussions, ever. One in ice hockey, one in boxing. The one in ice hockey was particularly notable because I couldn't even stand up on my skates without falling in 2-3 seconds, the whole ground seemed on waves. Boxing was similar, got smashed, literally saw batman-like star bursts, and then next thing I know I'm laying on the other side of the mat, my feet like 1-2 meters back from where I remember being and everyone watching with a "Holy f***!" expression on their faces. Note, it was at heavyweight, but I was closer to 95kg, while my opponent was around 110, mostly muscle, around the same height as me (about 195). They're not fun, I can only imagine the damage having 25+ of them.

I absolutely love what he's saying about guys being adults.
What happened with Benoit was very sad. What he did was absolutely horrible. Did the state of his brain have anything to do with it? I 100% believe that.
That being said, these guys chose this profession. It's a profession full of tough bastards. You choose that life and you choose to keep on going when you're hurt.
A lot of it is about pride and commitment to your cause. I was a paratrooper in the Army. To this day, that's probably what I am most proud of in my entire life. I have a massive number of injuries and conditions caused by doing that job. Most of them built up over a large stretch of time. I didn't go to sickcall very often to get looked at because the boys depended on me, and I depended on them too. I didn't want to be seen as a shitbag and cause them to suffer more because I couldn't be there. Now, would that have helped me in the long run. Yes. It would have for sure. But I chose not to go get checked out. I'm responsible for the choices that I made. I chose that life. I chose to take pain killers and drink copious amounts of whiskey to deal with the pain. I'm no longer doing that since I got out thank God, but that's the choice I made...I'm glad I stopped doing that, but at the time, that got me through to the next day to be there for my guys.
I'm really glad he's making the point that these are grown men making their own life choices. It isn't up to an organization to police your life choices. It's up to you. Personal responsibility...It goes hand in hand with what makes men free. If you want freedom, you have to have personal responsibility. If you have one but not the other, you're either a leech or a slave.

When Marrow was doing the Jonny B Bad gimmick, I was very entertained by that character, after getting to the WWE he lost my interests. It’s almost like he was one of the WCW guys that Vince buried, seems like some guys Vince pushed and gave tv time and let do their thing, other guys like Marrow just got the shaft and faded away. I wonder if he made these decisions upon hiring them or waited to see the crowd reaction. It sure seemed like he targeted people the moment he hired them or before in some cases. There are a few exceptions Austin, Calaway, Helmsley, Roads. Then there are the other guys that just never got the time to impress the crowd. Guys like Vader, Morris, Regal. Some of them refused to fade away and got over organically anyway.
