It's funny because you look at Blackman in his prime and he looks like the vision of health. Bristling with muscles and alert as can be. And then you hear about him having to sleep 18 hours a day for 3 years and it really drives home how precious and delicate health is. Just a reminder for me to never take it for granted.
What’s amazing to me is that he’s so calm down to earth and polite yet he’s one of the legit toughest guys in wrestling. Haku is like that too… just a very kind and calm guy.

Bret Hart has talked about it, Ken Shamrock, and a couple others on Wrestling Shoot Interviews (WSI)… ALL regard him as one of the biggest legit badasses in the business. Some rank him up there just behind Haku, Barbarian, and with the Steiner’s due to his legit martial arts pedigree. Vader, JBL, the Nasty Boys, and a couple others have said they wanted NOTHING to do with him after ribbing him, and realizing it was NOT taken well.
