Hi there. Finally got around to trying out this face mask and my machine (SWD) does not do the trace stitch. I put it on M|M and while it stops at every step, it does not do the initial outline for me to put the fabric down. I have to flow back to step one to tack the fabric down. The trace stitch does not stitch actual stitches, but only does a slow motion trace stitch to ensure that the needle will not hit the hoop. What can I change to do the trace stitch before I stitch the fabric down?
You need to do a quick trace first, and then it will open up a slow trace option, press that and press the start button as instructed in the video to do the trace stitch
Hi, I have 2 questions: 1) what size hoop did you use for this? 2) where did you get the stabilizer? The stabilizer I bought will not fit my hoop for my TC-1501.

I have an MT-1501 but I want to embroider a mask that is already made that has the two fabric layers for the filter but I'm not how if is possible or how to do it.
Do you Ricoma, have any other embroidery machine patterns to sew a mask? I'm not a fan of the point on top of nose . It doesn't sit down on the nose correctly. I even bought the bendable strips to go in it to hold it in place. It just doesn't fit correctly. I've made several using your RUclips video. They all are the same.
I downloaded the Medium file. It stitched the placement stitch, placed my fabric down and it went straight in to stitching the tack down stitches for the straps. It completely skipped the run stitch for the entire mask. After the corner stitches for the straps, it did the run stitch for the entire mask and then went straight in to doing the second stitch for the final outline of the mask. There was no stop for me to put the second layer of fabric down. I am definitely a medium mask, but the 11" for the straps was not long enough for the top portion of my head. I think 15" would be enough. Since these are washable/reusable, I don't know that I would leave the cut edges for the filter opening exposed. The material will likely fray when it's washed. This could be avoided if you folded the two "pocket" pieces of fabric, stitched those first and added a run stitch along both edges, stitch your strap corners and then place a solid piece of fabric on top for the final stitch... just a thought!
Hey there. It seems that you might have skipped the first step which is running a trace stitch first. This is an option on the machines screen. After you do a regular trace.
@@ricomatv the stitch trace button on my EM-1010 doesn't do anything but beep and flash a message on screen that disappears so fast I can't read it. Yes, I'm locked in embroidery mode and have already run the trace.
I just want to add , maybe someone already this, but to personalized , and cut the step to get off from the mask and look for the other logo and than go back to the mask, i just add the logo on my software, so i move the logo to the top, so the machine will start with the design that i'm using to personalized, than the mask, so this way don't need to stop looking for the logo and than go back.

Does the inside pocket fabric fray since it is unfinished?
nope! we haven't experienced any fraying!

how did you do the design on chroma plus am trying to do the face masks but I just want to know how you did the design in chroma
Thanks for the recommendation, we will look into making a digitizing video on masks!
hey willie i dont have a big enough tear away sheet to fit that hoop can i use a trash bag instead
You can use a smaller hoop and a smaller tear away backing

With multiple washings, won't the edges of the pocket fray?
Seems to me that you would need to hem the edges of the pocket before you tack it down
You can trim the edges to be safe!
Just found your site. Do you have design in JEF format? I have Janome.
Hi there, thanks so much for watching. Our machines read DST files.
i have the tc1501, can i use that machine as well?
Yes you can create this mask on any Ricoma model!
Can you do a design with 2 face masks and use the larger hoop? That is a lot of wasted fabric and stabilizer?
You sure can just just hoop a larger garment and complete all the steps twice for both before removing the hoop.
Another Great Job Guys! Thank you so much!
Our pleasure!
Thank you so much!!!
You're welcome! Thank YOU for watching
It's my friend Willie....thank ou again for flying out to Oklahoma to fix my machine
You bet
good job
Thanks
good job willy!!!!!!!! :)
Thank you!
My Friend Willie. A plesure to seen you. Great Job.

Many thanks
what kind of straps are you using and is there a tutorial for those who use elastic?
Any type of elastic string should work.
Would this design work for brother PE800 ( PES ) ?
This design is a .DST

Hi Terri, this is the only one we have at the moment
What size hoop is that?
Its the D hoop on the ME-1010 which is 310x210 mm!
I wanted to embroider my mask but different ones on RUclips says it’s not safe to do it.(fiber separation). Don’t know what to believe.
No matter what. Something is better than nothing. Also our mask has a space for a filter
I bought filters.
Do you have a design for brother machines ?? Mine is PES
No sorry. Only DST
Thank you!
You're welcome!
What type of fabric is the lace?
Any type of elastic straps or string should work.
I can't open the design why is that
Make sure your design is in .DST format. If it isn't our machine will not read it.
I'm not finding the download link...

That’s a LOT of wasted fabric and stabilizer
Can't put a price on staying safe. Also its a lot easier to find fabric and stabilizer these days than these masks.
