Poor hubby. I forget that there are people out there who have NO IDEA what to do with makeup. This is EXACTLY what I needed to see before my friends start asking me how to do their Halloween looks. Then I send them an “easy” 54 step make up routine with footnotes, video clips and a curated Ulta shopping cart… and they look at me with ultimate FEAR n their eyes. Babe - just come over to mine. I’ll do it for you.
That would be me😂 I watch, and will wear some basics (eye stuff, lip stuff) maaaaaybe a bit of light powder & blush once in a blue moon. I don't like feeling like my pores are blocked w liquid makeup, and also even that aside I'm scared to follow tutorials bc most of the time, in the middle they be lookin Ca-RAY-Zee, & I'm always like "Uh oh, what if I get to That step, where I look nutty af, and then bc of my lack of my skills not be able to fix it from there to the completed end look that actually looks good?!"🙀) Iykwim. (I guess I could just wipe it all off, but the thought of doing all that just to possibly F it up & wipe it off is like, No. I'm not super patient, that would def p me off!!😂💯)
I am not a make-up. I LOVE watching make-up tutorials but I have only ever applied lipstick in all of my 34yrs, and even that is for special occasions. I like the idea of make up, not the actual thing 🤷🤷

Casey did a solid job for having never applied makeup to this degree before and for not being experienced in the vast range of products. He gets the general purpose of each product and its placement. I was proud of the creative descriptions, which were correct. All in all, Casey did a damn fine job. I've seen far worse from so-called pros who get paid to do this. Bravo Casey! Well done! 🙂🍾👏🌟

As a woman who never really learned how to do makeup (my mom wasn't into it and I leaned HARD into the idea that liking makeup = wanting to be objectified -- clearly I know better now, but still never really learned makeup), one of the reasons I love your channel, Johnny, is that you make makeup feel less daunting. I commiserate with not always knowing what all these products are and how they ought to be applied and layered! I have mad respect for makeup artists -- you are wizards of the craft! Fun to see your husband come to realize just how amazing your skill set is!

Well, this was just hilarious. I was laughing the whole way through. I guess I never really thought about Casey not knowing much at all about makeup. It just goes to show that, like most things, it takes a lot of practice to become proficient.
You have no idea how much this made my day. I've been having a really horrible week so far, and I laughed SO hard while watching this. You two are absolutely adorable, and watching how you relate to one another just melted my hair. Baby Face Casey did great for his first attempt at putting makeup on someone else (It's just not as easy to do as it looks), and Johnny, you were so wonderfully patient. I have altered my products, routine, and makeup application based on your (and Kevin's) thorough breakdown of what does(n't) work and why, and feel so much more confident for it.

I haven't been watching makeup videos for quite a while. But when I got the notification that your husband was doing your makeup, I had to watch. He did a great job. Honestly, it's how I feel my makeup started looking every time I've done it since entering my 40's. I definitely want to see you do his now. 😊
Your expressions through the process were hilarious! Casey did a good job for his first time... minus the large black dots in the outer corners of your eyes. How fun was that? And what a great experience for someone who doesn't wear make-up to understand why it takes so much time to do it and get it looking right... or should I say, getting the look you're going for.

Oh my gosh! Thanks for the laughs! I am wiping the tears of laughter as I type! Johnny you are such a great sport because I have seen this type of video from others but they didn’t seem as willing to sit there and show the reality of the true look. You didn’t even see what was going on until the end. I asked Wynne Wright Casey’s determination to do it all by himself without any help. I also loved how he applied as much logic as he could. But when he blew in your face and your reaction, I about died. Also, your reference to looking like tan mom, priceless! I have to give props when they’re due and Casey your application of eyelashes for the first time, I thought was pretty flawless. Way better than my first attempt on my aunt for her daughters wedding. I enjoyed the video very much mostly because it was hilarious and I am becoming a super fan of Johnny’s and therefore I enjoy seeing Casey also. And Casey seems very comfortable for the camera so that’s wonderful.
