I have just one thing to add, it's probably pretty obvious, but, when everything is decluttered, you can keep the dust under control, which makes your environment cleaner and therefore your health better
"Time spent decluttering is never time wasted!" Truth!!! Haha ugh the struggle is real though 🤣 it does feel sooooooo nice to get the clutter out though
Yes this is me i am a recovering shopaholic and hoarder. my husband and i started decluttering in 2020 after we got married and we found i have 10 tweezers and many more doubles of things we are still decluttering in 2023 however we are to the point where we can start being more relaxed about things and we have more money since changing spending habits and finding a home for everything
I am with you on regards of spending money in the past on items I buy, then 3/4 years later I find I don't like or even need the item. My shopping habits have improved a lot, but I want to do even better. I cancelled a monthly membership yesterday because the item just became a clutter magnet. My home is very clean, neat and well maintained and organized. But I feel I even want less now that I am a senior.
I wear a fitbit, and my resting heard rate has significantly come down since decluttering and simplifying my bedroom. I have not experienced any negatives from decluttering, that is what makes it really motivating to continue.
Decluttering is allowing me to setup new routines that improve daily living. I'm giving myself time and grace as for I am very busy but I can feel the stress rolling off my back.
Yes!And my take away moment - “being the stuff manager is exhausting”- I so feel that. Thank you for your insight and expertise- love your sense of humor ❤
I am just starting to declutter. I have brought I don’t know how many bags to Goodwill. I enjoy decluttering now. Why I waited so long, I don’t know. I don’t know if I am going for being a minimalism train. I am enjoying being able to sit down reading a book. Reading the Bible. It is wonderful. Trying to have my husband get on the declutter train too.
I found 6 paint keys, why? Because we couldn’t find one. I have decluttered our painting supply bin and condensed it…donated an additional 6! Paint rollers-again-why? Couldn’t find one…NOW we have a manageable amount of paint supplies and we know what we have and where it’s at!!!! It took 10 minutes. I estimate that’s at least $60 spent in purchasing doubles because we didn’t know where or what we had. Decluttering is time well invested!!!!
I’m confused. If you’re paying a certain amount for your house, and you remove the item, you’re still paying that seems cost per square foot. In California, that’s pretty expensive. I’ve done a lot of Decluttering, but my cost per square foot is still the same. After decluttering, i mo longer need tp have someone come in and clean my home. I don’t have all that stuff on surfaces that need dusting or polishing
I suffer from depression and anxiety, some days it's hard to get out of bed. But, I take out the dirty cat litter and trash, do laundry, and wash dishes. Because my mom hoarded papers and trash, I must declutter every day. A first cousin died in his massive hoard. Tina, Al's wife
@asavannah7439 thank you! I didn’t realize I could do that. I've been replaying and replaying to try to catch everything you are saying, so this will be a really big help!
@asavannah7439 hi. Thank you. I finally figured it out. Yay! I didn't realize that the little gear shows up when you first tap on the video so I can make those adjustments. This is wonderful! Thank you so much!

More things = more storage space!
