I would just like to add - this is a BEAUTIFULLY filmed video. I mean that's just the PERFECT angle of everything that we want to see. Thank you for that.
I have seen and played Whipping Post litterally thousands of times. And, I must say? The guitar work by these two gentlemen on this version is just jaw dropping! Incredible job by both of them! ❤️🎼🎵🎶🎸✌️
What a brilliant rendition and what a great sequence of solos. First JD's straight up in your face playing and then Jacks "outside the box" stuff. It complements one another beautifully. Perfection!
JD had his work cut out for him playing Whipping Post with Jack Pearson. A vintage Gibson Les Paul worth thousands and probably a Fender Squier worth (maybe) a few hundred - or it could be a genuine Fender Strat of JDs worth a great deal more, but the point is that's in the hands. We've all seen Jack play an Asian made Squier and blow minds. Great video.
+Jeff McLeod I think this particular Squire was $120 from a pawn shop. His last couple were $100 each. He makes them sound like they cost several thousand each.
I had the privilege of seeing J.D. perform this here in Wisconsin last month and he blew me away since I had no idea who he was. I wish I had captured that performance and thank you so very much for catching this for us. What a jam!!!
Saw an interview where Jack said he prefers the Indonesian made Squiers..’they just feel good’. That’s all that matters folks, if it feels good play your heart out and you’ll find your voice. Don’t waste your money searching for tone..it’s right there in your hands!

I was at this show at the hi - watt just a few weeks ago probably just a few feet away from whoever shot this in front of the stage maybe the girl I said looked like the go - gos drummer ? I meant the bangles actually not go gos lol anyway - simo jams !
ya know...squier guitars aren't that bad. The classic vibe series are a great example. They're still holding their value. I see what everyone is saying, and it impresses me too. But we're all guilty of buying into the name of something, and the "prestige" that comes with it.
I've got a classic vibe strat 50's and it's by far the best "low end" guitar i've ever played, although it does have 90's fender pickups in it. Paid £300 and is easily the best guitar I own!
What's up with the sound man ? ? Didn't they have a sound system powerful enough to provide enough volume for the mikes . . . . . sorry for the bummer, but the sound man should've known and had pre-sets for each song. Guitar work was absolutely the best. Jack continues to amaze even the most seasoned of guitarists wherever he goes . . . . . .
Disney absolutely loved Pearson. They were wonderful partners in ABB, but Jack,a rare couldn't take how loud Dickey,s playing got. Says he had to go to docs, so quit. A shame.
JD is working too hard. He's great but pay attention to Jack. His fingers do the walking and talking instead of his whole body. JD does have a good voice though.
+Winston Tucker Jack's special indeed, but I don't see anything wrong with putting one's whole body into a performance if that's what it takes to bare one's soul
Why do you care what kind of body language a player uses as long as the sound as there? Look at how stoic Derek Trucks is and compare that to the moving around that Warren Haynes does. The product is the tone, the notes, and the feel--not the gesticulations and mannerisms.
The taper was well inside the house stacks and within a few feet of both guitar amps. If the taper had been further away the PA was actually fairly well balanced at this show. I know that because I was there, walked the room while JD was playing to hear the mix and it was a good as it could be in that room. Then during Jack's sit in, I'm right beside the taper and we are both just a few feet away from JD. I'm Jack's cartage guy
I've had the pleasure of seeing Jack twice, both times he was playing a Squire. It's in the fingers.
Mike Barry 👍
Doesn't hurt to have a 59 LP though...
@@TheTechAndScience yes it does , it hurts your back eventually :)
@@TheTechAndScience I believe that's a 60.
And your wallet
The guy on the Les Paul smoked that lead. Very bold and in your face. The song is called whipping post and he whipped it by god!

Jack Pearson is beyond words. What a beautiful, masterful musician.
Gotta travel to Nashville checkout the station Inny maybe get lucky c JP he is it
Jack is so tasteful. Gotta love Simo’s intensity too. And the videography just makes it!
I know it was like front row. Talk about improvisation :-) Peace
Love watching two players of this caliber get together on stage!
Literally the best rendition I've heard.
Jacks tone. .....beautiful.

SIMO is a damn beast
Can't believe I got to see this happen live.
Jack says “Hold my beer!”😆
Just wow! First time hearing of him. This guy is incredible!

Winston Tucker
He really does!!!
+Jeff McLeod It's a 90$ squier Bullet :D It's all in the hands when it's about tone!
Jeff McLeod John does seem to be playing through a high end Marshall half stack so that might have some effect of the tone... :/
Great version played by two great guitarists.....👏👍👌😎
Great version !!
Outstanding!!!!!!!
Wow! This is just an incredible video!
freakin' awesum ...
didn't think JD was that great a player, but he really deliverd here ...!!!
JD is incredible! He puts every ounce of his being into his playing. Just amazing to see him in person and Jack well there is one better than him.
Guitar Master Class is in Session !!!
Speechless

What fun this is. Never heard JD before. Props to him for hanging on the same stage as Jack who is one of the great guitarists of our time.
Just awesomeness

Holy Shit.
I love the fact that jack plays cheap Squire guitars and makes them sound amazing. Says something about all the hubbub around expensive guitars.

You might need to name your first born son after him but it would be so worth it!

How the hell is he getting *that* sound of a Squier?! 0:50 should be used in *every* Squier ad campaign!
Holy crap...amazing....amazing.
Simo is the new kid, and he is great. But the old dog Pearson still has a few tricks. Great stuff.
HOLY SH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!TTTTTT
Just... Holy Sheeit.
Holy shnikeys!
I bet Jack's squire plays like a custom shop fender
All in the fingers and AMP
I think Jack plays Squires to say hey man pay me more .
That's a stock Squier Strat Pearson is using, for the record.
Folks, you realize that comment below was supposed to begin Dickey.

I haven't messed with a squire but last ones that I incountered were heavy, with spite pickups, frett sprout , thin pot metal tremolo. Ect
Is Jack playing a MIM Strat? the nut looks just like it.
Times are rough, still sounds damn good, though.
Believe it or not that is a squire.
Proof that it is in the player, not the gizmos!
Heavy Pedal Productions : heavily modified!
@@robertdillon9989 No mods. Just a rewired tone knob.
Brave boy breaking out the corisidin bottle. maybe shoulda left it in the ole pocket.
Who do you know better on slide than Jack Pearson?
@@rockinredneck57 Not many. Bonnie Raitt and Keb' Mo' are probably runners-up.
Oops! Derek Trucks ain't too shabby, either.

It's just JDs nature to move as he usually is busy fronting SIMO
The guy with the Lester was ok until he put on the slide. Then it's like, let me see how many sour high notes I can play. I'm outta here.
I'm a fan of Jack and JD but crappola... Vocals and Drums
...ain't they s'posed to be out front in a mix?
I guess the P.A. is less than loud enough
