I mean there are giants like Larry Carlton and Robben Ford and so on, but all in all I think Jack is even more creative and versatile than those guys. He's just _monstrously_ talented; it's hard to get one's brain around!!
Would've been better if he started off slower with the solo and added more space and ramped it up. Would've been a way better climax. I've noticed with his playing he doesn't add enough space and breathing room. He's a shredder type player
@@dpclerks09 I can see what you mean. Hopefully he gets better at imitating a sax player. Sounds "shreddy" to me, even when he's playing like a guitar player in older stuff.
@@kennethnick3213one of my gripes about Marcus as well. He is incredible, but lacks restraint and nuance in his playing. Sometimes sounds like he is trying to play every lick and scale all at once. I'm sure maturity will come. He is young.
Quite a conversation going on here. 2018 and rhythm is on. Guys like this thrive on rhythm section along with the rhythm guitar. Nasty tone displayed by both, leaving out repetitive cliche’ riffs. What a burning down the house. Thanks to all concerned.
Kid shot his load within 12 bars….Would of thought he learned a big lesson when touring with Derek Trucks… Less is more especially when setting in with a master!😎
This is pretty different from Tony Rice's Manzanita version. 🤣 The crazy thing is that Jack, as a rather wonderful mandolinist, could play on both tracks. Thanks for the post, albeit 7 years late. ✌
Who gives this a thumbs down? Jack is a muse in every sense of the word... music just flows threw him and you can’t help but feel his joy. Marcus is so unique, can’t wait to see him evolve as an artist. Great tune, thank you so much for posting.
This is perfect. Jack loves players, hes blown away by Marcus, as he should be, I am and i know a lot of other folks who are too, both of these guys are pretty special players. I have big guitar love for JP too. Thanks for this! I want more!
At 5:08 when they were making the change, to go into ending King's solo, the drummer and Jack start smiling, like Damn the KID, knew just when to come back in. Great playing Marcus.
Every single time the comments are about the commenter and not the music. Nobody is underrated here. You are not the only one. We get it: you think this is jazz. I know you can’t believe the down votes. Sit back and enjoy this. Jack is superb. To the casual listener, he’s “pretty good”. They don’t know what they are witnessing. Being critical about style, the amp or guitar doesn’t usually hit the mark. The surprise thing about this is Marcus’ playing rhythm. His support is excellent. The leads going off just demonstrate that the band felt the room and wanted to push it. Wish I’d been there.
I just learned of Jack Pearson. I must have been living under a rock. He’s truly a great player. If you see Jack with a Strat in his hands it’s usually a stock Squire! Granted it’s been set up to play great but, the guitar is stock!

I love Marcus and he definitely has tons of talent. I think he still needs a little more control though! He needs to build up. Jack does masterful things there at the end, he really plays to the crescendo whereas I feel like Marcus has a tendency to go from 0 to 100 in an instant. I think he's been steadily improving though as time goes on for sure and obviously, raw talent is off the charts. Maybe he'll go on a Billy Gibbons kick or something and master the use of the space between notes.
Hearsticles Fully agree. It's just a youth/exuberance thing. He'll grow out of it. As you say, the talent and ability is there. Taste comes with age. Like learning to appreciate wine. It all tastes the same when you're young. He's gonna be just fine.
Hearsticles he's grown tremendously in last 9 months ,saw him tonight with Soul Rebels..his jazz line were so beautifully fluent, it was so brilliant, you'd be impressed. He's endorsed by gibson now too.

Jack is one of the most respected guitarists in the business, and it looks like he’s having a great time

Very few drummers can break your knees with a shuffle like that!! Stupendous

WDeeGee1 absolutely. One of the most smoking shuffles i ever heard! A great shuffle beat turns your knees to jelly
Got that Texas shuffle 🔥

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Jack's look of approval in what Marcus is doing when he takes the reins. Man what a solo!
