Thanks for your question @@_Astol_. You won't be able to connect a racing wheel and pedal set to an iPad, however, a HP laptop will work fine, as long as it has a spare USB port. iRacing-the simulator I use in this video-is not very resource hungry, so most modern laptops will be able to run it. Check out the iRacing website for more details on specific hardware requirements. Hope that helps. 👍
Thanks for your comment Ash. For sure, the Wheel Stand Racer is a great option for those new to sim racing. If you're looking for something a bit more sturdy though, check out the new Wheel Stand 2.0: ruclips.net/video/RZEVk902xBc/видео.html
Thanks for your question Riley. When using a two-pedal set, the centre post is not an issue. However, if you want to add a clutch pedal into the mix, then I'd recommend using a wheel stand with an A-frame design, like the Wheel Stand 2.0: ruclips.net/video/RZEVk902xBc/видео.html
Thanks for your question Spartan. Unfortunately, the Wheel Stand Racer is not strong enough to handle direct drive wheels. For a 12Nm wheel base, I'd recommend the Wheel Stand 2.0 ( ruclips.net/video/RZEVk902xBc/видео.html ). Hope that helps. 👍
Thanks for your question Casey. Yes, you can fold down the Wheel Stand Racer with a wheel and two-pedal set attached (0:40). In its folded configuration, it measures about 30 x 48 x 50cm (plus the height of your wheel). Hope that helps. 👍
I purchased and installed my NLR Lite and was wondering if you had any advice on 2 small issues. 1) I have the Fanatec DD PRO 2 and the Stand mounting does not have a template for that. Am I ok if I only secure it with 2 screws instead of the 3 points that is recommended? I’d have to drill a hole down the middle in order to secure it with 3 screws. 2) when mounted, the steering wheel is in the neutral position, I feel it would be more natural to tilt/angle the Mount UPWARD but the Mount only tilts/angles DOWNWARD. Seems kind of silly and that titling downward would be a more awkward position? I appreciate any thoughts or help. Thank you!
Thanks for your question Phil. I haven't used the Next Level Racing Wheel Stand Lite before, but it's quite similar to the Wheel Stand Racer I reviewed here. Regarding the mounting pattern for the DD Pro, are you able to install extra T-nuts to utlise other mounting holes in the wheel plate? If not, two mounting screws should be fine as long as you don't run the force feedback too high. The Wheel Stand Lite and Racer were not designed for direct drive wheels. So, to use the full torque available, I'd recommend upgrading to a more robust wheel stand, like the Wheel Stand 2.0 ( ruclips.net/video/RZEVk902xBc/видео.html ). This also has both upward and downward tilt adjustment, so you'd be able to refine the position of your wheel better. Hope that helps. 👍
Thanks for your question Teddy. The wheel deck can be adjusted between 50cm and 80cm in height. So, to clarify, the shortest height is 50cm without a wheel attached. I hope that helps. 👍
Thanks for your question Ray. The base of the Wheel Stand Racer is quite weighty, so the side-to-side stability is good. As I mentioned in the review, however, there is some slight flex in the wheel mount upright. Personally though, I didn't notice this when racing using a Thrustmaster TX wheel. If you need a more stable wheel stand to mount a direct drive wheel, I'd recommend the Wheel Stand 2.0: ruclips.net/video/RZEVk902xBc/видео.html
Thanks for your question Mahler-apologies for the slightly delayed reply. You should have no problem mounting the Fanatec Clubsport V3 pedals onto the Wheel Stand Racer, since the pedal deck is quite adaptable. However, assuming you haven’t yet purchased this wheel stand, I would recommend the Wheel Stand 2.0 ( ruclips.net/video/RZEVk902xBc/видео.html ). This is a much more robust wheel stand that while enable you to get the most out of a higher end pedal set like the Clubsport V3s. Hope that helps. 👍
That's a great wheel base Mika; I also have the CSL DD. The Wheel Stand Racer will probably function with this wheel. However, you will likely experience a lot of flex in the centre post. So, I'd recommend upgrading to something like the Wheel Stand 2.0: ruclips.net/video/RZEVk902xBc/видео.html
Thanks for your question TN. With a peak torque of 2.2Nm, you should be fine running the Logitech G923 on the Wheel Stand Racer. I tested the wheel stand using my Thrustmaster TX, which has a peak torque of 3.9Nm. While I experienced some slight flex in the centre post, I didn't really notice it while racing. Hope that helps. 👍
Thanks for your question Ashley. While you can certainly mount the Fanatec CSL Elite wheel base to the Wheel Stand Racer, I think you'll experience quite a lot of flex at higher force feedback settings. With a peak torque of 6Nm, the CSL Elite is pretty powerful for a belt drive wheel base. I'd suggest opting for a more robust wheel stand, like the Wheel Stand 2.0 ( ruclips.net/video/RZEVk902xBc/видео.html ). Hope that helps. 👍
Thanks for your question Kama. Unfortunately, the Wheel Stand Racer does not come with a shifter mount. It does, however, have mounting points at the side of the wheel deck. These can be used to attach the shifter mount that comes with the Challenger seat add-on (3.37). Alternatively, you could use these mounting points to attach a custom mounting plate. If you want a wheel stand that comes with a shifter mount as standard, I would recommend the new Wheel Stand 2.0 ( ruclips.net/video/RZEVk902xBc/видео.html ). Hope that helps. 👍
Thanks for your comment mate. For sure, I think the Wheel Stand Racer is a decent starter rig for casual sim racers. For those needing a more robust solution, check out the new Wheel Stand 2.0: ruclips.net/video/RZEVk902xBc/видео.html
Thanks for your comment TW. This refers to the maximum supported height of the user, not the wheel stand. The actual wheel stand extends to a height of 80cm (1:29). Hope that clarifies. 👍
Thanks for your question Hafiz. I tested the Wheel Stand Racer with the Thrustmaster TX Ferrari 458 Italia Edition wheel and Thrustmaster T3PA pedal set.
Thanks for your question. The Wheel Stand Racer does not come with a wheel or pedal set, so you will need to purchased these separately. Let me know if you would like any recommendations. 👍
