Love your channel dude. Great controller reviews. I have always wanted a racing wheel setup but was put off by the whole set up stuff. That wheel stand looks awesome.
it's crazy how i got in the same "hobbies/obsessions" like you overtime. Espresso, Getting into Arcade games (bought myself a dreamcast recently), last year was starting playing more sim-racing games, Trying to master different Arcade sticks, hitbox. I love this channel somehow i always end up being on the same wavelength sooner or later.
lmao this was the funniest and most informative review I've seen for this
aaahhhhh I had WONDERED where the driving videos went .... the bulk of a wheel setup has always deterred me for the exact reasons you give but I will say this looks like an awesome alternative
Love how I went from watching your fighting game vids for a couple years ago and now I’m watching racing game vids
Thanks for the review. Looks good. I think I might buy one for my Logitech G29 wheel/shifter too. Cheers!
I posted a short of my extremely cheap DIY set up involving a clamping work table from harbor freight........not the prettiest set up, but is VERY rigid. I use a cinch-strap to keep my office chair from moving backwards......works very well, but I still want a nice rig. Great video!
really great review
The video just reminded me I have the same wheel and similar stand folded up in my closet for the last 2 years 😅
I'm just starting out with Bus simulators after a few years of watching and enjoying vehicle sim gameplay.
I'll invest in a wheel in a few months. But didn't enjoy the fact that I would have to mount it to my desk.
This seems like a great alternative to that. The distance to the monitor is actually not a problem for me, because I use a 40 inch TV as part of my dual set up and always have to make sure I'm a decent distance back from the screen (often about a foot away from my desk). Thanks for showcasing.
Mounting to a desk works fine for the first week but after that u need the desk back and the wheel ends up in storage. A cheap stand really sorts that out :)
Why to simulate a buss? Racing is expensive. But you can be a buss driver so much easier.
Channel is great 👍❤
I have the same stand. But playing in my 65" OLED tv in my sofa. Doesn't move at all and i having a blast. Nice stand for the money 💰💰.
I’d recommend this stand and lots of other ones like it for people using a tv instead of a monitor
I remember way back in the day race wheel controllers had a spot near the lower section of the steering column for you to fit it in your lap, in reference to your comment about not being able to put it in your lap. Just obtained my first wheel setup I wish I had done it years ago wonderful upgrade. Anyone who questions if you need one in your life, yes you do... did it feel fulfilling to play guitar hero on a standard controller or via the guitar hero plastic guitar?
I just got a Thrustmaster T150 wheel, and it's really fun with Euro Truck Simulator 2 on PC and Gran Turismo 7 on the PSVR2, but it is a bit annoying having to pick up and move the wheel whenever I want to play on PC/PS5. I found a wheel stand for $50 at Micro Center, it's Inland brand, I might try that one out. Also I have no idea why there aren't any physical PRNDL shifters for games like Euro Truck Simulator, I can only seem to find manual stick shifts and not automatic gear selectors. I can just switch from drive to neutral to reverse using buttons on the wheel, but it isn't as immersive
Kind of in the same vein as your fighting videos, it'd be really cool if you went back and played as many old school Initial D arcade racers with this setup, if you can :D
It's looking better than the wobbly folding side table I used for the Mad Catz wheel I used to have for my 360. The wheel had built in retractable legs which kept it steady if you had the wheel on your lap, but it was never comfortable, and what car had a groin-height steering wheel?
Bet were gonna get a racing chair and curve gaming monitor video in the future as part of the NihongoGamer racing series.
The stand needs the chair legs holder tray. Many other stands have this.
Great, short and sweet review. I never quite realise how high these can go. Same as desk, so... 70cm? Hmm I'm curious too now... how low can you bring the wheel down to?
I recommend castor wheels that can lock up. Also does your wheel stand have an adjustable height? It might solve the problem of your chair not being low enough
The stand doesn't stay in place. It's basically useless. I have it and just trying to press the petals is a struggle because it pushes the stand away. I have the shifter and emergency brake add-on brackets but the metal is so thin it bends when in use. Save your money and get better quality.
Had no idea you play racing sims too! you're like a one stop shop for a good 70% of my interests lmfao
What’s the other 30%?
You should get a giant 4k tv with VRR to use for everything.
I got locking wheels for my chair. Recommended.
thanks for giving a link to where we can buy it ourselves ..
Can someone please post DIY solutions that eliminate the wobble of the Vevor Wheel Stand? Thanks a lot.
Bro thank you...
I know its an older video but a great solution to the screen problem is to simply get a Quest 2 (a cheap VR headset) and setup a virtual room with a monitor in it to play the game (or some games already have VR built in mind which is super immersive), that way you are super close to the screen and you don't even need to face the desk at all
I like that solution too, but then picking tracks and stuff still requires you to reach for the mouse and keyboard
@@SeraphsWitnesssolution is to get psvr2 w GT7
@@madbrah8361 that's a very expensive solution for a very small problem. Lol
6:20 alternatively you can just get locking casters for your chair, the only downside is sometimes you bang your ankle off the locking levers.
personally i just replaced them with basic feet, "Gliders"
I need one of those
Monitor mount would be good
Getting a longer shift knob might be able to solve the problem
can you post the link to the chair stoppers
i bought that XD it snapped in a month
my wheel stand will tend to slide on my carpet! what do i need to keep it in place!?? i might be looking for the locking wheels for it instead of using the feet
I wonder if this has a height limit. I'd love to set that up in front of a TV.
can this set up for well for ACC?
Can the shifter be put on the other side?
What chair are you using? It looks really comfortable!
It’s a mesh chair from “Nitori”in Japan. It was $300 but I don’t really recommend it. It’s kinda prescriptive in the way it requires you to sit to be comfortable.
Anyone been able to find a stand with seat under $200? Also able to support 180-250lbs at least? I’ve been using one of those bedside tables people use when they’re sick eating soup. Lol
I just ordered a wheel stand after realizing having it clamped to the desk was a lot of work. I had to spend a bit more than 100 since I have a direct drive wheel.
How different is your wheel stand to make it work with direct drive? Is it more of a full cockpit style?
@@NihongoGamer I have a Fanatec wheel which is significantly stronger feedback than the logitech. I assume it's built sturdier, or it could've been clever marketing to get me to buy it. It does have the option to expand to a full cockpit though which is a nice option.
Ah I misread and thought I ordered a different stand. Ur stand is gonna be so much better than clamping to desk!
Are there any good pc or ps5 racing games that work with a VR headset ?
I’m tired of GranTurismo btw.
Have you tried Assetto corsa in VR on pc?
@@NihongoGamer I have not, no. Thanks for the recommendation.
What about arcade racers via emulation using the steering wheel?
|Initial D , SEGA rally or the modern Outrun games.
Wheel stands are a great step into the rabbit hole, just like custom mechanical keyboards and custom fightsticks... my condolences to your wallet.
why didnt you just move your wheel to the right and put the shifter next to it? put that arm on the other side as drink holder or something i dunno
Sadly here the cheapest one cost around $300 or more.
Strap a oculus headset on and forget all about that monitor
Perhaps a monitor arm purchase is in your future?
Actually my monitor is already on an arm :)
Nerf drill?
did you say logytech
Go American style and put your shifter on the right.
My desk has a drawer in the front and most wheels dotn have the clearance to clamp onto my desk
Sorry bro Omega GT Apex new $160 but far superior I got used one for $65. They even have a channel for chair rockers. But it's the 45° cross bars your unit doesn't have. That's way to much shake. Your running a very low under 2NM. My Omega had a 10NM No movement whatsoever none
