  • @TheMatx73
    @TheMatx73 4 года назад +1303

    Jimmy, I had a wheel like that, I think you made a mistake by missing an important bit on that wheel! These type of wheels actually should have a button on the back or front of the wheel where you could change the mode from "keyboard" input type control to "wheel" input type control which would have allowed you to use it as a normal wheel with normal rotation, and pedals with normal input, etc. I suggest you doing another one video with these type of wheels, but with the normal mode! :D
    P.S. Did you install any drivers? That might have also caused an issue why the wheel and pedal inputs were not registered normally by the game.
    P.P.S. For anyone wondering, these type of wheels are still terrible, but you can use them for shitty racing experience if you are on a pocket money size budget :D Nowadays I have G920 - a million times better experience!

    It comes from Poland XD
    Company name is spelled tracer, not T racer ;_;
    In Poland the asking price is 25-30 pounds, so you got it quite cheap. This company is known for making cheap "gaming" stuff and no one knows how this company still exists. The game that you got is sold for 1-2 pounds in newspaper stands. It would go really well with that wheel

      It’s so sad man. It reminds me of the Boot Theory from Terry Pratchett in Men at Arms. It’s expensive being poor because you have to replace cheaper things more often and they have less use as they’re lower quality. Whereas rich people can afford the higher entry price for quality and can buy the item once and happily keep the item for years. So by the time you measured up in a couple of years, the poor people would’ve spent more money than the rich.

    I've owned 4 Wheels, MadKatz, with an up down shift, which worked when it wanted to, 180 degree turn, which lasted year or 2 with hardly an usage down the track, then I got another cheap 180 degree wheel with vibration, with click shiftings, broke with hardly an usage. Then I got a wheel which claimed to be 270 degree's, yet it was 180 degree's, I returned that. Then I got my G920, which is still going after 1.6 years with heavy usage. Word of advice, keep away from cheap wheels.

    I used to have a similar wheel. It was called Logic3, it didn't have ffb or even vibration, just spring centering. The steering reached the maximum at about 45° (you could turn the wheel about 100°, but past 45 it wouldn't have any extra effect), and the steering was "notchy", from 0 to 45° you would get 4 or 5 places where the wheels would "click in", like it would jump from ) to 20% steering, to 40%, etc.

Now i have some ideais for you, i would like to see some honest steering wheel reviews and also some racing games reviews, like Assetto Corsa, comments about Gran Turismo Sport (70% sim maybe). In the case of the games would be nice for you to put some "stamps" on the games that trully are simulators (Assetto Corsa) and the ones that are not (Forza 7). And finally some track guides would be ULTRA NICE. I like this chanel very MUCH!

    Watching this video brought me back to the Playstation 2 era playing the F1 2005 and Gran Turismo 4 on the Fanatec Speedster 3 holding it with my knees. It had a tiny display on the wheel base to change deadzone, sensitivity and also had a digital/analog mode selector. It brings a tear to my eye to remember those early teenager days already becoming a lazy ass spending most of my time playing sports and videogames.

    My only sim racing wheel is a Logitech “Driving Force” force feedback wheel from I believe the late 2000’s, with no mounting gear and a nearly broken pedal connector, at a Goodwill for I believe it was either $10 or $15 dollars. I found a lower powered, but working dc barrel plug at home and I’ve fallen in love with sim racing! I use it with my VR setup in Assetto Corsa and Dirt Rally, and cant wait until I’m able to afford something nicer, maybe a TMX or something similar.

    Oh yes, the fabled Cheap Chinese Wheel Sold Under Various Names. I had a set of those waaaay back in the day, and used it until it completely broke. You guys know those elastic strings tracksuits have, so you don't have to use a belt? The center force of the wheel was kept by a pair of those. One of them snapped after like two months of use. The pedals fared better, and since both of them have the same spring tension, I even got some flight sim use out of them. And the worst thing is, that set was still better than the ones I bought before biting the bullet and investing in a proper rig (GXT 288 if I remember correctly, steer clear of these if possible). The UltraCheap ones lasted me for about a year and a half, the new one's pedals died after a month or so. A friend also got those after trying mine, and his perished in the same way.
    Also, that's a really nice garden Jimmy, as an apartment building dweller I envy your sheddy lifestyle.

    I've used a wheel like this on GPL, GTR2, RFactor with a laptop and you can get some ok results - force feedback and heel and toe are out of the question. My solution? Junk the pedals, use the paddles for brake and accelerate and the buttons for clutch, up and down gears.
