That note at the end that he hits is epic..
Yeah!! And how Dave hits that note, and Sab holds it for like 20 seconds, amazing vocalist 🤯🤘
Sebastian is for another planet! That note was brilliant
This song never got recognized, but this IS Skid Row and it is a true masterpiece. Sebastian gave it his all. A gift to us all.
Totalmente de acuerdo...si es de otro grupo más famoso la ponen hasta en la sopa. Cómo canta Sebastián, madre mia...
Me recuerdan también a Queensryche, Geoff Tate...
DAVE SAVO , SEBASTIAN BACH , ROB AFFUSO , RACHEL BOLAN , SCOTIE HILL ,... DIOS LOS BENDIGA ,
Greatest vocals ever!
No fucking auto tune, no effects, nothing! Just Sebastian voice! 👏👏🤘
Facts. Auto tune didn't exist on recordings until the mid-late 90s. You can definitely notice a change in the standard of vocalist after that.
For real ,.real
All they could do before is just change the pitch and add some echo
Yeah!!! I love that!
@@dumbgoof2731 Well, a bit more. Compresion, delay, reverb, equalization, maybe a subtle dimension, playing with volume on mix, but surely intonnation was always singer's talent at work. And expressions sound way more from soul when mr. auto tune is not around.
Children take note what REAL talent is !
Not really, unless drunken fool is a talent.
@@kylemc8851I mean, he can be both
The artists could sing
@@kylemc8851 what do you think dimebag was ??? he was a drunk too lol
@@kylemc8851 you only see drunken fool, we see incredible head dominant mix and fry + compression in both high and low regions
Sebastian Bach era of Skid Row is the only true era of Skid Row
What a voice!
Skid Row never is too late to find at the god's son. JESUS. What a Great Sebastián Bach's performance.
This was a time when being young was bad ass
She caught the melting sky
It burned but still the winter passes by and by
To the other side
A slow parade of wind
That blows through trees
That wilted with the season's children
Are we saved by the words of bastard saints?
Do we live in fear or faith?
Tell me now who's behind the rain
A maze of tangled grace
The symptoms of for real
Are crumbling from embrace
But still we chase
The shadows of belief
And new religion clouds our visions of the roots
Of our souls
Are we ashamed of our own fate?
Or play the fool for our own sake?
Tell me who's behind the rain
What do we need?
Where do we go?
When we get where we don't know
Why should we doubt the virgin white of fallen snow?
When faith's our shelter from the cold
What do we need?
Where do we go?
When we get where we don't know
Why should we doubt the virgin white of fallen snow?
When faith's our shelter from the cold

I'm 56 years old and I still listen to the original cassetta of this album I bought at the time. Among other things, I saw Skid in Italy on the tour of the same name and Seb shook my hand from under the stage. I couldn't have had a better musical memory than this! ❤️🔥🤘

I was fortunate to have seen the Slave to the Grind tour. Pantera opened followed by Suicidal Tendecies. It was in Houston and it was one badass night!
Saw them on this tour with Pantera opening! What a great frickin' show
Baz is what makes Skid Row Skid Row, sure the song writing is great but the soul of those song came out from those pipes.

Skid Row will never be Skid Row without Sebastian.... He and his voice just can't be duplicated or replaced. Been a fan since the beginning and the man can hit those notes live. He doesn't need the studio to boost his voice.

@@seagullfire799 then what are you doing here?, you must be more fool to listen to something that is not to your liking voluntarily.
Rachel Bolan Interview on May 24, 2011. The question asked was "Is Quicksand Jesus about religious tension or bouts with faith?"
Bolan answered: You pretty much hit the nail on the head. I grew up in a Catholic family and so did Snake. You know that good old fashioned Catholic guilt. It’s just about keeping your beliefs during good times and bad times. It’s so easy to not be spiritual when things are going really good and then when they go bad you start relying on whatever god you pray to to get you out of it. It’s kind of saying that whatever it is you believe in, you should probably put in 100% all the time. We started writing it and war broke out in the middle east. The lyrics just started pouring out but we did not have a title for it. Snake and I used to do a lot of dirt bike riding and we knew we wanted “Jesus” in the title but we could never really settle on anything. There was a busted Jesus in Snakes mom’s flower garden. The garden was there right before we took off to go riding on the trail and every time it rained the Jesus sank. We called it “Quicksand Jesus” and what we would do is touch it for luck and then we would take off. If someone would wreck we’d say, “You forgot to touch Quicksand Jesus didn’t you?” One day, we just looked at each other and said, “That’s it! That’s the song title!” That song was a labor of love. Snake and I never had such a tug of war on certain parts and elements of songs as much as we did with that one. That one took us a long time to write. It’s cool that’s your favorite song because that’s my favorite Skid Row song that we ever did. I’m proud of it and I’m so glad we still do that one.
Thank you for posting this, very interesting! 🥲🤘
WAY COOL....👍👏🫡.... TY for sharing this.. it's awesome hearing the info on a legendary song!!
You can most definitely tell it comes from Catholic theology. They pose the question, are we saved by the words of bastard saints, do we live in fear or faith. I'm glad you shared this. This is definitely one of my favorite SR song's. Sadly many people fall away because of Man- made Religion. They throw the baby out with the bathwater. Your comment gave me a lot of insight and I appreciate it. Thanks !!
Thank you for sharing!!
Up there with the greatest hard rock vocals ever recorded!

one of the greatest Albums.
so good,so underrated.
This great Canadian singer, in my opinion, is the greatest rock singer ever! LOVE YA!
I absolutely love this song! Way to go Baz!
Hearing this song on the radio here in my little corner of the midwest is an extreme rarity. All of the nearest rock stations only play I Remember You or 18 and Life. But tonight, this song came on one of them right before I got home. I had dinner for my wife and I, so I couldn't sit in my truck and let it finish. So I ran inside and got on here to listen to it.
Fuck yeah!!
he holds that last "so far awaaaaaayyyyy" down like a beast. grew up on this shit and still spinning it
Most underrated lead singer in metal history this man can do this live thank God I grew up in this era
No, I'd argue that Geoff Tate is the most underrated. And if you don't already know Queensryche, pick Take Hold Of the Flame live (Tokyo) as your first listen.
Charles Tinsman me too, I’m black and this all I listen to growing up, so I caught hell in the hood, but glad I like what I like and not influenced by other’s. Well kinda lol I did name my first born son Sebastian... everyone loves his name. Very gifted kid, something about that name, I guess.

Skid Row é foda demais. Essa música é a melhor da banda. Que hino.
Eu adorava os gritos do Sebastian Bach ❤
Um clássico ❤️
Among all the sex, drugs and swearing in their a lot of their songs, they really had some deeper stuff in there as well. This, In A Darkened Room, Wasted Time, etc, showed they were more than an 80s metal band.
Real music!
This song is so beautiful ❤️ and Sebastian voice is amazing 💖
This is probably my favorite Skidrow song, so fuckin killer.
Another undeniable proof music can be one of the purest forms of art and genuine human expression
Seb's voice is pure gold
Still rocking in 2023 love you Sebastian 😊 Great music.

Yup , exactly bro
What a pity that it lasted so little. They could still be making songs like this today.
Goosebumps deluxe.. 🤜🤛
This one song killed the entire music industry of today
Mind blowing vocals. Bas is the man!
the way he changes his voice register from the (first) distorted "Why should we doubt" to the following clean "the virgin white of fallen snow" is enough to drive anyone insane and fits those lines amazingly.
absolutely agreed
Him and steelheart the best

It's amazing what music can do... I'm Lost without it 🤘

@Demon Hunters Bloodgood is a classic!!! They were one of the first bands I discovered with a purpose behind their music.
Music is a pathway to God for me!! A refuge and a shelter!! A connection with him and he blessed me with the gift to be able to play guitar and bass and share my music!! It's always been a universal language!! Great post man 👍!
There's at least 17 years of my life inside that solo...
Never forget that night in Irvine , CA watching them live on slave to the grind tour. Pantera with dimebag (RIP) opened

I can't help but feel, if Skid Row came out in 86' instead of 89' they would have been as big as G'nR.
I think they wouldn't even exist without having GnR before them
(beside Sebastian would be a 15yo kiddo in 1986😂)
@@LaBigPopA Yeah, there's always someone that lays the groundwork for others to follow.
Guns N’ Roses suck
Not only that, but they’d have had time to evolve in the heavier direction they were going: thus they would have stayed relevant even into the grunge era.
If they came out in 82 maybe.
Best Skid Row song ever!
I love this song. He had the most beatiful voice in 80s and 90s.
I miss the music we had in the 80's and 90's... nothing but raw talent
These guys may get lumped in with "hair metal," but that misrepresents the band IMHO. This is a METAL band . . . these lyrics are miles away from "Cherry Pie" or "Pour Some Sugar On Me." :) So much more substance . . . incredible vocals.

i just like to call it hard rock. i like motley crue a lot too but i hate that “cherry pie” by warrant sound it’s not hard enough

This song and In a Darkened Room still go straight to my heart!!
From their first release to this… what an incredible elevation in songwriting, composition, and production. Highly underrated sophomore release, one of the best albums in a year with some really amazing music.
Uh… and that voice. I mean… I’m a musician. I look at composition and production. But Bas… his voice in this song is just… I have no words. Grit when it’s needed, smoothness when it fits. Those who say there isn’t a perfect performance haven’t heard this track.
Great!❤❤❤❤

Saudades do meu tempo de adolescente! 14 anos e já ouvia um rock top! 🇧🇷
One of the best songs EVER!
What a mighty masterpiece the whole "Slave to the grind" album🎉🎉🎉 And nobody in modern music created any better ballads than Skid Row, Cinderella, Guns and Roses, Motley Crue in the 80s. The last echo of that great time was Cinderella's "Still climbing on" in 96

There is a higher power installed in that song. Brings something spiritual out of me I can't explain. Amazing!!!

Ummm Jesus maybe lol.
Because they are a christian band . Every song talks about the bible and the fact that people forget God and we pay the price for it

Everything was going fine then grunge came.
Then it petered out like a deflating whoopee cushion. 🤷♂️
😂😂😂😂😂😂
The labels all pulled the rug out from under these great bands, and got on the grunge train, the only problem was there were only a few good bands from that time. Alice in chains, sound garden, and the Melvins were my favorite, that Nirvana bullshit just didn't do it for me.
You can't deny the talent of alice n chains. Jerry and Layne.
@@michaelobradovich4322 That was the one shining star in all that mess.

When I was a young boy back then I simply didn’t care about Skid Row , I was more into Metallica, Testament, Slayer, Megadeth and other thrash metal bands. Thought that these guys where simply hard rock , but with time I came to learn that they played on a very thin line between that hard rock and heavy metal and yes , I now understand them and I apologize for my younger thoughts on them ! This turned out to be one of my favorite songs due to it’s very unique composition and song structure . Love it , and sometimes i play it on repeat just to hear Bach’s voice .
PASSION!!!
