Pamela Mason was unique, in reading about her she dropped out of school at 9 stating that education only confuses the mind. Did screenplays for a few films, a bunch of acting credits to her name. I wouldn't consider her arrogant she just knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to get it.
James Mason’s ex wife was a superficial and shallow Hollywood opportunist. James Mason was left penniless and was able to continue working in film until he died. He returned to Europe where he was more at home and Pamela stayed in L.A. N.B: Mrs Mason couldn’t hold a candle to Mr Mason who was also much prettier. I’ll take Shelley Winters who could act and didn’t tolerate B.S.
