I lived in Hawaii for a bit, flying tours in a helicopter and some airplane flying. Even with tips, I got a lot of tips on top of the 400 a day I was paid to fly on a 7 days on and 7 days off. At times, it was really tight on my budget. Somebody was giving him money. Follow the money.

After 20 years in Afghanistan, there are a TON of very high end spec ops types dudes that are out of the service but have done plenty of details in crazy dangerous environments. Trump needs to hire some of these guys. Not as post standers, but as advisors to make sure things aren't missed. Some dudes really good with EW / anti drone tech would be helpful also. USSS is, for whatever reason, not getting it done and he needs better protection before a truly skilled assassin shows up.
Eric Prince discussed this after the 1st incident, he recommended budget of about $2.5 Million to protect till the end of the year with real pros.

What’s initially troubling to me with the choice of the golf course is knowledge and logistics. Has he been there before? Does he know the area? Why did was he staged at 2:00 a.m. at the golf course? Trump made a last minute decision to go golfing….was he persuaded to go and how much persuasion?

Trump was golfing with a "friend" chances are there intel leaked or discovered on the friend and not directly on Trump himself.
Has to be an inside source close enough to Trump to have access to any random or unplanned changes to Trump’s movement schedule. This is an obvious lead that should be investigated immediately. If I was Trump Id have a strong investigative oversight group in place working these suspected breaches in security as well as any foreseeable breeches that may be prevented. I don’t feel the SS nor the FBI are moving fast enough and could possibly be involved IDK. As a retired Special Agent I see several helpful leads that have evolved from the past couple of events here that stand out and should be investigated. I can think of a few investigative techniques if employed have a high probability of identifying these individuals. If you can take down just one conspirator and get the POS to turn on the rest you’d be able to clean this rats nest out. My hunch is its bigger than imagined.

I would think spotting a rifle barrel at 75+ yards sticking through a fence would be nearly impossible. A black barrel in a shaded area covered by trees and an agent still saw a rifle barrel, I'm in doubt that this is how it happened.

Yea initial reports mentioned a drone trailing him. I wonder if the good samaritan story and eagle eye USSS agent stories are cover for a thermal drone. Its possible Trump used his own money to buy his detail some off-the-shelf thermal drones and they were trying to keep it from being known to upper level Management so no one gets reprimanded for using kit not formally vetted and issued. Could also be an issue with the FAA if the drones weren't registered or emitting beacons.
My belief is they had thermal which disclosed this POS location and the barrel thru the fence was a DI cover story to conceal the fact that they use it. That is done to thwart a future attempt involving counter measures of eliminating or reducing the shooters thermal signature.

I "heard" that the SS advanced patrol was only a few yards (like 10) away from the gun barrel. It is still remarkable.
Imagine if the suspect had retracted it until his target was closer. He might have even escaped (at least for a while) had he concealed better & the witness hadn't been around at just the right moment. He could have been tracked down through other methods, but it would have taken more time. Remarkable.

I personally think he was frightened that Trump might follow through on threats to defund the Ukraine war.
Also, he may have acquired the weapon in or on the way to Ukraine, subverting felon restrictions (or just broken the law here, of course).

Between plea bargain or agreements to rat out others or using mental health to explain his actions, it isn't as surprising as it should be that he got off of so many charges. Regarding the "WMD" charge, first, isn't it ridiculous that a machine gun is stretched to mean WMD!?! Second, it seems possible that he could get off the charge by ratting out the seller.

The AR-15 isn’t “garbage” as a sniper rifle; many AR-15s can shoot 1 minute of angle if the barrel is any good and you buy some high quality ammo. No, they are not engineered for the task but they are way more accurate than Soviet-era dogshit weapons. With magnified optics, they’d do nicely from contact to 500 yards, assuming the shooter knows what he is doing.

Was that a clear shot 230 yards over the water from his location to the 5th hole green? That means it was even closer than previously thought.
5th green seems immaterial, other than indicating 6th green presence is minutes away, which is stated here as being 25-50 yards from sniper position.
Yeah. It is weird that all the TV coverage I have seen only consider the current distance when the _advanced_ patrol encountered the shooter. Seems clear, unless desperate or panicking, that he was gonna wait until the target was very close.
