I feel for Akali. This cinematic gets to me because I been dealing with anxiety and panic attacks at night. When you suffer anxiety, you are your own worst enemy. Just like the Akali Phantom is the doubt in her.
I hope both she and I can pull through this. That we can once again go into those happy days in the fields with the people we love.

I just wanted to say that you’re more powerful than you think you are. You can beat these awful things. Sometimes you’re too tired to win those fights, but that’s okay. I know it’s painful and a lot of people don’t understand you, but this doesn’t mean you can’t do it.
Force yourself to believe in you, and after some time, you will actually believe in yourself,

At 1:59 keep an eye on Kai sa's wrist. Her friendship bracelet dissolves, maybe symbolizing how her giving it up in the music video affected her and Akali's friendship or how Kai 'sa giving it up kept Akali from overcoming her fears and doubts.
Since this is all from Akali's point of view, it may symbolize that Akali thinks Kai'Sa is giving up on their friendship. Also Akali being filled away from Kai'Sa by her fears symbolizes that Akali's fears are damaging their relationship

It's fun to notice how Kaisa and Morgana share some details, like some twisted mirror.
the hairstyle, the wings and their familiars kinda look the same (Ina with the cape closed, Morgana's with the cape open as bat wings)

You might be on to something, actually. Because this entire time I’ve been wondering why Kai’Sa’s Star Guardian design has her hair shaped like horns. Perhaps it really is to create a visual connection between her and Morgana.
The weirdest part is that at 0:44 theres a sg crest that looks eerily similar to kaisa’s. Im not entirely sure what that means, but it has to mean something
Maybe morganna was kai'sa in another timeline or au, and turned to the darkness bcs her timeline got rly messed up and everyone was basically gone.

In the game, it’s hard to see how much Akali suffers from Fiddlesticks and stuff but this totally redeems it! This is scary!

The moment the reality broke for her mind and she started falling in shatters, we can see it was the moment kaisa made the deal with Lux and broke the window akali looks through.

A little fun fact: the voices you hear from the beginning are actually from Akali's mom in this Star Gaurdian universe. Here her mom is abusive to her, always calling her weak and useless.

At 2:01 Kai'Sa friendship bracelet disappears. This likely signals how Akali and Kai'Sa's relationship is dwindling. It could also be referencing when Kai'Sa got her SG powers in the "Everything Goes On" music video (where she gives up her friendship bracelet to take the oath).

The Star Guardian event might be disappointing ingame, but in terms of lore, animation, visuals... It's sooooo good!
This animation was so strong, really showcased how Akali is struggling with loneliness and the burden of being a Star Guardian.

This is a good animation and it really makes me wish there was an anime or some type of cartoon for the Star guardians especially for newcomers like myself since I am interested in this universe.
This animation looks so cool! The visuals, the voices and the background music just fit so well together. I really like this so far! This is just my own opinion though, so I respect yours too.
I actually didn't like it lol. It looked not real at all to me compared to the previous star guardian cinematics of this event.

This is a really good example of (a type of) social anxiety, from the way one negative thought leads to another as they spiral out of control, to fighting against yourself and resisting the pull of negative thoughts and emotions trying to drag you down into a place of darkness. Really fills out SG Akali's character between the Twin Stars story and the event story from Kai'sa's POV.
Star Guardian aesthetic and music gives me such a huge kingdom hears vibe and I love it.

I like how the ending of Akali reaching out to Kai’sa is a full circle call back to when Kai’sa reaches out when she wakes up in the music video.

I main akali for a long time, and personally I felt her, being so insecure around others, thinking that no one likes you and no one wants to be your friend. I saw myself in that. I am feeling like that these days. At least I have Akali! 😊 Thank you so much Riot for this cinematic!

I need more Star Guardian cinematics like this💜✨ Seeing the fear and doubts Akali has a Star Guardian shows her struggles, even the fear of falling to corruption. A masterpiece!
I hope she doesn't actually fall. Rides the line but is saved before it happens. Falling and coming back again is the Xayah+Rakan story (and potentially hinted at with Senna and Lucian in their comic). Would be a shame to have that be played out again making each of them less 'special'.
The voice acting in this is INSANE, Ashley is so good for Akali 🤧

Riot is really nailing it with the story, themes and small cinematics for this event. I hope they capstone it with something big at the end like a OST or long form video.

I think the new Star Guardians and their lore will theme around redemption and struggling with past doubts? That being a Star Guardian isn't as noble of a calling as maybe Ahri or Lux (and their respective teams) make it out to be
Also the balance between the darkness inside them threatening to corrupt them (doubt, pain, loss etc) vs. the light they cultivate (friendships, love, etc.)

I just realized, with the ongoing lore in the client, the whole "star guardian" thing is getting closer and closer to becoming madoka magica. I mean, there are witches (the fallen guardians) and you are doomed to battle them for eternity or become one of them. There is no other way out once you've taken the oath.
This video sets an example of why the Star Guardian videos are truly amazing!

Excellent. Very well written, paying attention to the dual-nature of Good v Evil, Light v Shadow, etc. Can even equate it to alternate universes. As an avid anime fan for 40 years, whoever is writing the Star Guardian story has my respect and admiration.

She shouldve taken her own hand, i hope thats the symbolism happening here. The shadow has the dumb joker smile, not really showing much emotion but at least at the beginning it didnt seem to want to fight.
What really made me feel this is in the final dream scene where theyre both just a mirror reaching out, shes trying so hard to reach something thats literally tearing her apart on either end. It makes it seem like if she reached kaisa she ofc would also reach morgana, but if she reached for her shadows hand...
Another way to look at is akali trying so hard to reach something she might not feel like she deserves, putting kaisa/what she sees kaisa as on a pedestal thats too lofty to be reached by a normal person. This in turn making her more hateful, more spiteful etc, corrupting her and playing into morganas hand
I really hope this is how it unfolds, probably not but still lol. It would feel really good with base akali already having struggles with balance
