As of how the story goes now, he es presumed dead after sacrificing himself to cure Xayahs curse and save the city of Valoran. We now have to wait for the next part of the storie :3

I swear, that section where Neeko runs up the tower feels like something straight out of NieR game, and Sawano’s track really helps solidify that feeling
The fluidity of Neeko's movements takes my breath away. I always liked how she ran on all fours in the game, despite her bipedal structure, but this animation turns it to sheer poetry.
Ah, finally someone else that understands the beauty in her running animation. I've replayed just that part multiple times solely for how well it was done, icing on the cake was her running on beat with the music. Ahhh the cherry on top was how flawlessly she jumped to that rafter, spun, and went seamlessly back into a quadruped run all while being bipedal.
Xayah came back for him when the floor colapsed (no she didnt tried to jump and save herself, its physics) and she just didnt sit around with rakan and help cuz if she stopped on trying to kill neeko and failed the missiom, both wouldve been killed.

I’m sure there’s some sort of musical science that better explains why it feels that way, but that’s the part that gets me to tear up the most out of the video. It feels powerful despite the situation; Neeko’s desperate attempt to use the last bit of her power to shatter Zoe’s corrupted labryinth is something to be noted!
I love xayah and rakan's whole relationship is absolute. At first it seems she doesn't care since mid battle there is no second thought for rakan to protect her and after he does both at the begining and near the end she just pushes past to continue the battle and he follows up, she doesn't thank or acknowledge what he did cause they been together so long its just understood she's grateful. And on the opposite end when he attacks her in the confusion there's not a shred of hatred or anger at him cause she instantly understands he did it to protect what looked like her injured and just moves past to continue to fight cause its understood he's sorry and she forgave him. She is so caught up in her sadness and anger and wanting revenge on the stars nothing else matters to her and yet when rakan is in legitimate danger at the end she is able to snap out of it and go back to protect him showing how no matter how much she wants revenge it's not even close to her feelings for him and the thought of losing him over it.

From what I could understand, Xayah was the one corrupted, but since Rakan loved her so much, he shared his starlight. (You can check that out when both of them recall). That's the reason why Zoe does not have full control over them as they are not fully corrupted. So maybe Rakan refused to leave Xayah's side even after their supposed "death" and just playing along. You can notice Rakan's special interaction with other Star Guardian seems half-hearted and kinda shallow bullying. Hopefully, one day, their starlights would return...
Their recall animation together hints that rakan eventually will just give xayah all his light to save xayah and my heart breaks everytime i watch them recall because of it

After Star guardian 2022 event, I only realised that this song is dedicated to Zoe. Which in the newest chapter we know that she missed Harp so much, the fallen sg. Neeko still viewing Xayah and Rakan as her allies since she can shift into them, Rakan, the healer and protector of the group being the clearest in her mind when she imagines them together because though he is now trying to kill her, he once helped keep her safe, Rakan sacrificing himself to Xayah only for her to be so corrupt and lost in the darkness that she can hardly recognize it, Zoe doing all of this out of betrayal and hurt, Neeko’s face lighting up when she sees Ahri and Xayah and Rakan’s faces when they see Ahri, the person they blame for their own deaths and corruptions… THIS IS SO DRAMATIC! I’m sure there’s some sort of musical science that better explains why it feels that way, but that’s the part that gets me to tear up the most out of the video. I love xayah and rakan's whole relationship is absolute. At first it seems she doesn't care since mid battle there is no second thought for rakan to protect her and after he does both at the begining and near the end she just pushes past to continue the battle and he follows up, she doesn't thank or acknowledge what he did cause they been together so long its just understood she's grateful. And on the opposite end when he attacks her in the confusion there's not a shred of hatred or anger at him cause she instantly understands he did it to protect what looked like her injured and just moves past to continue to fight cause its understood he's sorry and she forgave him. She is so caught up in her sadness and anger and wanting revenge on the stars nothing else matters to her and yet when rakan is in legitimate danger at the end she is able to snap out of it and go back to protect him showing how no matter how much she wants revenge it's not even close to her feelings for him and the thought of losing him over it.

From what I could understand, Xayah was the one corrupted, but since Rakan loved her so much, he shared his starlight. (You can check that out when both of them recall). That's the reason why Zoe does not have full control over them as they are not fully corrupted. So maybe Rakan refused to leave Xayah's side even after their supposed "death" and just playing along. You can notice Rakan's special interaction with other Star Guardian seems half-hearted and kinda shallow bullying. Hopefully, one day, their starlights would return...
Their recall animation together hints that rakan eventually will just give xayah all his light to save xayah and my heart breaks everytime i watch them recall because of it

Rakan doesn't seem fully set on the whole dark side, but is just there because Xayah is.
At 0:49, Rakan gives his Starlight to Xayah in order to heal her.
Also on the recall animation, Xayah transforms back into her original star form upon touching Rakan's starlight. Implying Rakan's corruption is only due to him giving Xayah his starlight
At 2:09 At least Xayah made a split second decision to jump to save Rakan when the floor was about to collapse. She still has some light in her.
yeah in addition to all the other comments, it's cannon in Rakan's lore that he has no intentions of doing evil, but he loves xayah so much that he plans to take on all of her corruption in order to purify her completely.
