For those who don’t know how insanely multi-talented Woodkid is: His real name is Yoann Lemoine from France. He is a movie and video director, a graphics and FX designer, a musician, singer, composer, songwriter and orchestra director. Also a music and artistic director. As a video director, he started his career as an assistant to Sofia Copolla and directed some scenes of the "Marie Antoinette" movie. Then he delivered music videos for the greatests: Lana Del Rey (several), Katy Perry, Harry Styles, Drake, Rihanna, … He also created some visual and graphical masterpieces for his own songs (check the video of his hit "Iron") As a music and artistic director, he collaborated with John Legend, with Lorde, with Pharell Williams (on his megahit Happy !!), and more recently for the new album of the french superstar Mylene Farmer. His songs are a recurrent in Video Games soundtracks (Assassin’s Creed, Dying Light, Granturismo, …) or movies soundtracks (Divergent series, Hunger Games series, Umbrella academy, Ellis, …) He has performed also very beautiful duets with Lana Del Rey, Elle Fanning, Lykke Li, Son Lux, …
Hell yeah, I'm such a huge fan of Woodkid. First heard him on the Assassin's Creed Revelations trailer and immediately went to find out who's music it was. Dude is incredible
Also I think his live performances are so freaking awesome. There's one on RUclips from few years ago that he orchestrates the whole crowd and they sing a choir together... I wish I can get a chance of seeing him live
@@clover6708 It's the joke template of a higher authority telling some to do to make something and then the person who's making cooks something spectacular. Doesn't really work for this show because Arcane is premium 6 Michelin star cooking through and through from start to finish.
Did you even realize that not only this song could be understood from the perspective of the arcane? It also feels eerily relevant to our current global situation. It reflects humanity's dangerous pursuit of power-through advanced technology, weapons, or control-without fully understanding the consequences. Lines like "You summon storms, you play with nature, now watch it hurt you" mirror how nations push boundaries in nuclear weapons, AI, and even environmental exploitation, often leading to instability. The call to "lay down your weapons" is a powerful plea for diplomacy and cooperation, reminding us that unchecked ambition can turn everything to ashes and blood. It's a stark warning for our times.
This fight was insane. Flashing between two different scenes. Watching the two sisters finally letting go of the fear between them and going head to head was awesome to watch!
You could say this song is about a battle between sisters but really it’s about Jayce. “You summon storms and play with nature” that’s Jayce throughout the course of the series to now. He’s played with nature, experimented with things that he doesn’t fully understand, and now he sees what has come of it. Him researching Hex-Tech lead to him making the Hex-crystals, which lead to Powder finding them and becoming Jinx. Which is why there is so much focus on the transitions between Jayce’s terror and the sisters fighting. None of this might not be happening if he hadn’t researched Hex-Tech and “played with nature”. You could also say this song is about him and Viktor, hence Jayce saying “What have we done.” Great song, you could look at it in many different ways.
@@candygoteaten5415Not really saying he’s at fault, his character is my favourite, but it’s interesting to see just how important Jayce is to the story when you really think about it.

@@azanyahyisrael101 I'm glad you asked! When the opening gets to Ambessa and Mel sitting on a couch, they ressemble how ancient Greek actors (or at least how we imagine them play) would dramatically lay down. Especially with their white gowns and dramatic lighting!

The scene where this played was peak and why animation needs to be respected. The intense animation, the emotions, and this song are truly glorious, and I dare live action to just try to capture the magic it invoked.
Both mediums have their own merits. That Arcane scene was really well made though. While not in the same vein in terms of the context of the scene I think some live-action shows have some really crazy cinematography. Shows ranging from Severance, Mr. Robot, Dark, Maniac, Twin Peaks, etc In terms of movies, Blade Runner 2049, Mad Max Fury Road, Enter the Void, etc
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SONG TO DROP SINCE THE S2 TEASER TRAILER, FINALLY!!! 😭😭😭🙏 THE WHOLE THING SOUNDS DIVINE, ESPECIALLY THE CHANTING and I'm *so* glad it's not just a small segment and there's so much more to it 😭❤🔥
The soundtrack for this part was so fitting. You can really hear the discourse with a sense of hope in this piece. It feels like it’s foreshadowing the absolute hell that’s about to be unleashed and it’s so amazing how it can be conveyed with just music!
The mix of ancient Shuriman and modern music creates such eldritch sounds... mixed with the visual effects of the Hex-core in the sequence, I really hope the entity that Jayce, Ekko and Heimer found will have some elements of the Void in its future development
the visuals alone of the hextech corrupting was very chilling, and then the choir in this just knocks it out of the park. after this and guns for hire i have to start listening to this guy. can’t wait for more…
When choir starts camera scene shifts from vi to jayce looking at the wild runes. That gives me chills. Also the lyrics fits with scenery : you summon the storm play with nature now watch it hurts you
They do NOT miss with the music in this show. This scene was a masterpiece in every regard (I am obsessed with the transition of Jinx leaping into the air with Fishbones)
My interpretation of the song is very simple: The one singing the song is Arcane himself. He is warning them that if they continue using their strength to make hextech and weaponry, everything will go to shit. That's why the weapons glitch and because of Jayce he realizes his mistake.
How nice it feels seeing that Arcane S2 is not disapointing 😎 and I was right about something: Vi and Jinx can hurt each other, but they cannot kill each other.
Spoilers: This scene was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. From the weapons glitching out, to the swapped perspectives, from the jojo references(lol), and the emotions. This was beautifully choreographed and I did not want to miss a single detail of what was happening. If there was a word I could think of better than masterpiece, I would not hesitate to use it.
CRY when they shattered the rock with the sketch of vi standing by powder, it's like that girl completely is gone, it'll very heartbreaking to see Vi have to face off on her like this 🥲
@lunasam9 to elaborate on my point: The very first thing we see in the whole show is through Powder's eyes, witnessing an enforcer executes a man lying on the ground. We know this is through Powder's eyes because the film briefly flashes with Jinx's scribbles, turning the enforcer's facemask into a grinning monster face. This shows us 1. that even way back then, "Jinx" was already a part of her, a trauma response to cope with the violence Piltover inflicted on them and 2. That for all the monsters her and Vi made up together, the monster she was afraid of most was real, and wearing a breathing mask and enforcer uniform. Which is why it's so heartbreaking to see how years later, when Jinx spots her sister through the toxic gas, wearing a breathing mask and enforcer uniform, the exact same monster scribbles pass over Vi's masked face, showing us that in the end, Jinx is still the same little girl, scared of monsters. Only now, her sister is no longer there to protect her, worse, her sister is one of them. And now, that little girl has the means to fight back, her contraptions finally working... Jinx didn't kill Powder, she IS powder, just how Vi is still Vi, yet the world around them has changed them both so much that neither is able to recognise the other anymore, neither is able to see that, while this change can never be undone, it wouldn't be impossible to move forward and grow together again, each clinging to the memory of who the other _used_ to be, so convinced that that version of them is "dead". And so they fight, a fight that is, like every tragedy in Arcane, somehow both avoidable AND inevitable
These two scenes placed together is the best example of masterclass characters meeting masterclass world-building that I've ever seen. Both were cranked up to the absolute maximum.
I like how the song was sad and not badass…reminded me of score in Avatar The Last Airbender when Zuko fought Azula..both of them had to fight the siblings.
This is the best comparison I have ever seen. In my opinion, ATLA and Arcane are two amazing shows that are on the same level of greatness in terms of storytelling and how they write their characters.
I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily sad. It feels like a bunch of mixed uncertainties surrounding the Arcane and hinting at the hell it’s going to unleash.
What's funny is that the Arcane itself actually seems to agree with him, if you read the lyrics as coming from it, which makes by far the most sense imo, you can hear how DISGUSTED it is that it has been used in this way
Man, I was totally speechless during this part of the third ep, couldn't stop smiling from the amount of craziness that I was seeing on my screen. That was definitely PEAK, can’t wait to see other episodes

Combining this song with The Line, which is Viktor talking to Jayce, makes it all the more emotional.

It's the joke template of a higher authority telling some to do to make something and then the person who's making cooks something spectacular.

This was one of the most emotional and intense fight scenes I've ever seen. Arcane never disappoints
My interpretation of the song is very simple: The one singing the song is Arcane himself. He is warning them that if they continue using their strength to make hextech and weaponry, everything will go to shit. That's why the weapons glitch and because of Jayce he realizes his mistake.
It's Warwick/Vander singing.

CRY when they shattered the rock with the sketch of vi standing by powder, it's like that girl completely is gone, it'll very heartbreaking to see Vi have to face off on her like this 🥲
Which girl? Vi or Powder?
They're both gone, and yet they're not.
@@void-creature hmmm suppose so
@lunasam9 to elaborate on my point:
The very first thing we see in the whole show is through Powder's eyes, witnessing an enforcer executes a man lying on the ground.
But then its a Powder drawing that blocks the way and saves Vi and Caitlyn 👀
This show bro
that fight was absolute cinema
Yeah. I wonder what would have happened if Caitlyn hadn't interrupted the sisters.
