Yossi has made clear well before October 7, 2023, that he wants the current Israeli government gone and wrote a few articles in the times of Israel begging Americans to get involved in order to accomplish that. Obviously that didn’t work and it also doesn’t help that he speaks with such contempt and disdain towards his brethren, who he portrays as deplorable yet they are supported by a significant portion of Israeli society. It’s this kind of rejectionism that drives wedges in society.
yes, &, still, he fancies himself the wisest, the most tolerant, the most insightful. but, he's got a great voice. he's not a bad man, in fact, he tries to be & in many ways is a good man. but, he doesn't know nearly as much as he thinks he does &, as a celebrity author, allows himself to opine on matters about which a wiser man aware of his limitations would choose silence.
As a non-Jew : I had always known that the Jewish people were distnct in almost every way, and that to try & place them into some standard category just somehow didn't work. And now, after hearing your guest's basic description of the 'Jewish Story', that of returning home (as opposed to x,y,z..) something just clicked. This element alone helps me better understand the whole thing, and I'll be able to use it (conceding my probably clumsy rendition of it) as a backdrop next time someone wants to argue about the 'settler colonial state that occuppied the oppressed Palestinians for 80 years' or something. And we all know how frequently that one comes up.

I think that Klein HaLevi is still understandably tied to his earlier vision of a Jewish Palestinian coexistence although he has had to modify that due to reality. He still does not want Jews throughout the West Bank because it is an encroachment on Palestinian autonomy in what ever form that might take .
