I just replaced mine,,,the starter is a booger to get out,,and back in around the exhaust manifold cover,,,I took off the rubber crankcase vent tube,giving a little more wiggle room.seemed to help.just don't forget to put it back on.

You can replace the brushes in the starter motor. Might be cheaper than replacing the whole starter motor.

No your daughter wont appreciate it long..they just built like that early lol
