    Absolutely love this channel… Bought a 2015 CR250 , used your videos to rebuild… took me over a month..lololol.. I had to sell at a major loss to help with my newborn granddaughters surgeries…. Maybe one day I will be able to do it again… at least I have your videos to remind me of what I accomplished with the 2-stroke….

      Solid rear end .. it won't do it any good but that's not a real differential another word that doesn't have spider gears.
      The word differential on a rear end means tires will spend at different speeds going around the corner remember that's a four-wheeler and they don't have that they're positive traction

    I have the same machine w/ plow (But in mint condition)! Mine only has 1200 miles and has been a plow quad / farm tool it's whole life and well maintained. That's a great quad and not well known. I got mine for $2,000 with plow and winch. On another note, I've found simple issues that render machines useless to certain people, typically college grads who are among the dumbest people, offer a great deal to other people who have real world knowledge & experience. The owner of a company I previously worked at, who was in his mid 20s at the time and had inherited his ownership from his Father, asked me if his household furnace ran on gas or electric. This guy had a Bach degree in Mechanical Engineering but didn't know what his furnace ran on. I told him it actually used both electric and gas but the primary energy source was gas. That was 15 years ago. I'm certain the colleges are churning out more idiots than ever before.

    You should have taken the plastics off to repair them. Then afterwards tape all the cracks on the front side the side you would normally see. And fill the backside with a little epoxy to help the staples and for extra strength. You could even tape the holes and add epoxy to fill the few holes in the plastics

    I am so happy to see you working on this Suzuki.
    I have the same unit and it runs and shifts fine but my shifter is sloppy. So now I see it is not intimidating to adjust it.
    My rear breaks work but the foot break is solid so I have to figure that out but the hand break works.
    Also need to change the gasket on the valve cover because it leaks to the point of smoking as oil burns off the head.
    But it is a workhorse.
    I know about mechanics and not afraid to dig into things.

    All good work. One suggestion for the plastic frame, one that will change your life.
    Super glue and baking soda. Mix the two together (Wear gloves obviously), and brush it on the seems as to join two pieces back together, clamp into position, allow to dry. Good as new. It will be a stronger bond than the surrounding plastic.

  • @dinosaur6756
    @dinosaur6756 9 месяцев назад +8

    Try taping the outside of the plastics together nice and tight before pushing the staples into the underside. You'll get a better result. Obviously, then you remove the tape. Give it a try. It's way better than trying to hold it together while trying to insert the staples. Good luck. Great deal for $250.

    My grandpa used to say "Some folks can break a crowbar in a sandbox". Neglect, abuse, and stupidity run rampant these days and its why we find things like that in that shape.
    In 1986 I bought a new ATV, I sold it in 2005 to a buddy who had the same model around the time I moved here. He and I bought nearly identical bikes, his showed 1,800 miles on it and looked like it fell off a cliff, mine looked new with 22k on it. Mine got parked in the garage or shed, mine never got driven off a dock into the lake, mine never was used to ram trees or jump motocross hills. He's had mine for less than 2 years when he killed it. First the starter, then he submerged it and filled the motor with water, after that the clutch failed, then he broke a rear axle, and finally it caught fire one day parked to close to a bon fire they had going out in the woods while drinking. He tell me it didn't last nearly as long as his did though. (His still runs but hasn't moved in about 22 years since he bent up the front suspension hitting a tree in the woods at full speed.
    I didn't realize that all of the newer models had gone to belt drive?
    I think I like the old set ups better. My older models all had oil batch clutches or straight manual transmissions and a hand clutch. No belts to replace ever.
    Its sort of like driving a car with at timing belt, everything suddenly depends on a couple foot long strip of rubber that can fail and leave you stranded. The worst thing that I ever had fail on an older model was a clutch cable, in which case we just push started it and drove home shifting without the clutch.

    Check spring to be in the correct spot and the shifter arm spring to. Cause it could stuck clutch plates due to out of fluids in the case.,or just shot out. That pin has to be there for sure. There's your problem with it your right on that part Joe. Without that pin it will not shift into gear at all. It's not allowing it to go fully into gear all the way cause it's missing now.

  • @johnhicks735
    @johnhicks735 9 месяцев назад +2

    I'd check the bead seal around the rim and tire. And check the valve stem for leaking to along with the tire to rim bead seal. Soapy water in A sprayer bottle does the trick on that part. And simplifies it to. Witch basically narrows it down to the exact location and problem of what's actually wrong with that tire and rim not staying aired up to Joe.

      No it has a centrifugal clutch, so even if the primary was jammed, the engine can still spin freely. Because it technically has no contact with the outer clutch until revved up.

      Doesn’t it make the plastics brittle ?

    The starter works now because the commutator got moved and the brushes weren't making good contact at that particular spot. A tap with a hammer would have done the same thing.

    Just a question for you Joe, is there a washer missing behind the nut that holds the primary drive on? looks like a witness mark on the primary for a washer, and also, I think those rollers are suppose to have a light amount of grease on them in the primary?

      I thought that also but it may have just been marks left by the impact socket.

    Just a little tip Joe. I hate telling people how to do things, but when you test a starter, best to put the positive lead on the nut and then arc the negative. You can weld that nut on there the way you did it

    I might be wrong but dont all tyres have to be the same overall diameter, otherwise in your case the front tyres will cover the ground slower than the rears? It might make is squirm a bit in mud and do damage on the road!

    Hi like what you do with all these vehicles. But you forgot to put the washer back on the big pulley.

    Those staples are designed to follow the crack and not across it if possible. Great find for 250
