Yeah man- I sold my 400ex just about 5 years ago for 2k. The guy I sold it to just sold it for 4k! Crazy... The used market went nuts...
Man i hear ya 8 years ago i picked up an 03 Kawasaki prairie 440 for 400 bucks with no issues. If someone offered me 1500 i would honestly turn it down..

Yes, that 280cc king quad was an amazing machine. I sold suzukis, Hondas, yamaha, & kawi. that machine didn't look like much but it would out work anything.

The scrambler 4x4 ftw. I had one they’re solid performers. And fast enough. Faster than the others.
I had a 2000 king quad 300 4x4... best quad i had back in the 90's era. Those sub transmissions are bad ass. We use to cut a lot of firewood to heat our house so we needed a good quad and trailer. When I got this quad we would just cut down the tree and drag parts of it back to the house to cut them up, lol. I bet money on the king quad. Little underpowered but for its time it was a great quad.

The 450 quads had their time. I built em all into serious race quads, people would dump 10's of thousands into them.....and I'd smoke em all on a YZ250 with PC exhaust. Bikes are just faster. They are fun but there's a reason the only 450 made is the Yamaha. Renegade and Scrambler 1000's are just as fast and 4wd (3x the price too). I don't think they'll make a comeback which is sad. Even the 80's had some awesome quads. The holy grail 250R, the faster in a straight line Kawi Tecate 250, the LT250, and then the bad boys.....the Banshee and Quadzilla. Wish they'd have kept making them all through the 2000's like the Banshee.
The sport 400 is the fastest of the bunch. The scrambler is the best choice probably. Ive been wanting to find one for years. I loved the old polaris 2 strokes.

Slap a pipe and clutch kit to match on her, good to go!
I have a 1998 Polaris 400 sport two stroke and I will say the thing is insane it’s really fast and I had it bored out really fun machine

I used to clear the big step up jump at Amerherst MX (ohio) on my scrambler 400. My girlfriend at the time said people couldn’t believe I was doing it cuz it was such a heavy quad!

Nice, this is going to be the best challenge ever. I have a 1998 polarirs 400 sport 2 stroke but will not engage forward, only reverse, and I can't find the parts or a used transmission anywhere to fix it but is like new

I used to own that exact quad Matt got!! The KIngquad is an awesome machine!!!! Oh and Leo guessed exactly what I paid for mine in great running condition(abt 7yrs ago....) $300 !! It's not great at anything but who cares its a little tractor!! If you have a towing competition no doubt the King in lowest gear will dominate!!! Can't wait to see what you guys do!!!

Most don't have brakes let alone front ones sooo burn outs are kind of hard especially on utility quads like these only 1 sport quad in the bunch

I picked up a 2001 Grizzly 600 in 2016 for $1,900 (sold it 3 years later for $2,500) but that thing was a beast. It's actually fairly light in the front end and the straight rear axle made sliding in corners a breeze. You'll have fun with it I'm sure!

I had one of those King quads mine was an 88 and it was a beast. Dont luagh at it too hard. it made it through everything my Brute force did but a little slower. I would love to have that quad.
I'm pretty jealous of Doug's quad... I'm in the Davison/otisville area and finding a cheap 4wd quad isn't easy right now.

I have several scrambler here in MN. My 10 year old boy rips a 01 scrambler 500 4 stroke 4x4. It's a great machine. Down side is that a lot of the parts are not avaliable. There are several models that share the same parts, so used parts are pretty easy to come by.
I’m doing a 1500$ build myself, picked up a decent 650 prairie Kawasaki for 500$ newer tires cost me 300$ for some bighorns. Not sure what I’ll add next

Own a Polaris sport 400 with fmf gold series rental bars and some goodies into the motor & must say still an amazing machine for being 98 race banshees and yfzs and have beat them on asphalt plus have reverse 🙏🏼 awesome buy

Grew up with my dad having a 400 sport that is an awesome bike everyone in our family had one or the 400 4x4 2 stroke I miss that bike what a find I would give good money for one in good condition!

Few years back I got a 96 and 97 scrambler and sport 400 for 500. Was a hell of a steel and the best fourwheelers I've ever riden.
I'm so excited. I wish u could do this and incorporate ur fans like the danger ranger. If u could get the insurance to cover the event it would be a great way to generate revenue for the channel. Do it out behind the freedom factory.

I have a 96 400 scrambler it wins if the transmission works.. I replaced mine but took forever to find parts for it
i got a 97 polaris sportsman 500 for $400 and it ran and drove the only thing that was broken was the wiring
that was 2 years ago still running strong, tons of power
Scrambler 400 all day had 1. Had a suzuki mule to it will never let you down but is no race horse it's a pull horse.
Loved the old sled challenge and looking forward to this! Looking at these $1500 quads is almost depressing, these things are all turds! Should make for great content.
