I’ve got a bird sona, and there’s a lot of bird species with little to no representation that would be cool to see more of: terns, plovers, dippers, frigatebirds, flycatchers, kingfishers, grebes, martins, peacocks as you said, the list goes on
I'm surprised I havnt seen a tree frog sona yet. Cause I know that geographic mag I saw in middle school with the green and bright orange tree frog on it stuck in my head almost as hard as sabertooths

I'm an Eastern Quoll, a cousin of the Tasmanian Devils found only in Tasmania. I know of three other quolls in the fandom, but that's it, and they're all different species. I'm the only Eastern Quoll!

And about picking fursonas, I'd say in short that I have chose myself for being a crocodile mainly from these large comparisons why I identify with this particular species. And in my opinion, each fursona has its own unique representation and is unique in its personality. I don't want to judge by saying that, for example, all of a given species have the same features. Everyone is different and I see everyone has their own values.
I'm genuinely surprised by how litte scalies and featheries there are in the fandom comparing to mammals. And I'd like to see more fictional character sonas :))

I think the wolf equivalent to Foosa are Tasmanian tiger/Tasmanism wolf. They went extict nearly 90 years ago and even though they don't have as crazy stories as foosas associated to them, they still have a pretty unique origin story tied to them (they have nothing in common with neither wolf nor tiger in terms of hereditary, go check wikipedia for more info) and that's also why they are my favorite animal and the species of my fursona. Anyways, great vid Finn, can't wait to see what species you'll cover this month in the shorts

I'll probably try to come up with a sand cat sona. They look almost like domestic cats, and are as friendly to humans as them, but at the same time they're these desert hunting specialists, doing what no other cat can do, and just built differently despite looking so similar to house cats.
I think a pangolin would actually fit me very well, I wanted a scaly fursona and a quirky one at that (which dragons aren't being the most used fictional characters in the fandom) but I'm gonna think about the "cool factor" because it doesn't really have a lot of it.
Ever since getting more active in the furry community, I've gained a friend group of axolotl furries! There's so many species out there that I'm shocked that there isn't a larger diversity! I also hope to see more of what you listed, a peacock suit would be stunning!!

As soon as I saw the video title I thought of pangolins! There are so many amazing potential furry species but congregating around a few species is definitely effective for promoting community.
I’ve very recently started learning about pangolins (because of my favorite Pokémon Chesnaught) and binturongs (which I didn’t know was actually a real species). If I didn’t already have so many sonas, I’d probably take in more of the obscure ones like these. Especially since I’ve thought about turning my bear into a cat a few times.
First species I hear is PANGOLIN AAAA I'M SO HAPPY THAT THEY GET KIND OF A SHOUTOUT I made like 4 Pangolin characters eeeeeeee!!! But yeah it is true they aren't really seen in the fandom but I have seen a hybrid and a pangolin once
And despite the name it doesn't have to be an animal with feathers or fur or even scales, that's why I want to see more animals that are on the more balding side but still have a little hair... like farm pigs, and due to the lack of hair it will actually be easier to make into a suit, a lot of people in the west grew up with Looney Tunes and yet nobody has been inspired by Porky or Petunia? especially Petunia... she doesn't get as much screen time as Porky but holyshit is she adorable♡
I'm surprised at the lack of domestic cats in this fandom. They are so common in cartoons, yet the only cat furries seem to be the Warrior Cats fans. There's also a lack of variety in dog breeds. I've noticed furries tend to gravitate towards the more wolf-like breeds such as huskies and german shepherds, so you don't see a lot of other popular dogs such as poodles, dalmatians, cocker spaniels, etc.
You did not just say male peacocks... peacock is a male term TvT the female version is peahen, and the overall species is peafowl! Peahens deserve more recognition, most people don't even know their name it's so sad.

I would love to see more fursonas based on prehistoric animals. Not only dinosaurs, but animals like inostrancevia and simosuchus for example.
