Even rarer than axolotls are olms! Dragonflies definitely have good potential, I never really considered them before. And Flygon could be a good starting point/inspiration for those
Out of this list, I've seen an Axolotl and a Slug fursona and the slug actually was a fursuit. The only slug character I have ever seen which is wild. As a goat person I thought I was under represented but this list is top tier. Never thought about insect species furries especially a beetle.
Oh yeah, insects are defiantly used as fursona spices :3. Personaly I have a worm and firefly fursona which I'm working on making costumes for in the future.
I wanna see more primates, specifically lemurs and monkeys. I feel like they have a lot of potential and are a good place to start when making your first fursona. They're already somewhat anthropomorphic, have apposable thumbs which are easier to draw for me, and have quite a lot of options when it comes to coloring.
Yeah I love seeing unique fursonas! Some of my fursonas are Crab, Jellyfish, Angler fish, Starfish, Luna moth, Tarantula spider, Firefly, Caterpillar, Gorilla, Barn owl, Emperor penguin, Pill bug (roly poly) , Centipede, Tardigrade (water bear) MicroOrganism. Yeah :P
Oh my gosh :3 I have not come acrost someone that has a firefly sona too. I love unique sonas as well, alot of my favorite being insects. A few of my fursonas are a Earth worm, firefly, jumping spider, and hellhound. I want to make other insect sonas, but for now this is all i have. A rolly polly sounds like it would be super cute 😊
My fursonas are a zebra moray and an aardvark/long-nosed armadillo hybrid! Searching references for them was a pain😅 I like making anthro and hybrid characters based on weird or seldom-seen animal species, some of them are cuttlefish, ants, anglerfish, velvet worms, Megaloptera, Andean flamingos, discus fish, arrow worms, marine snails, oarfish, beaked whales, lesser rhea, kingfishers, coral, antlions, aphids, colossal squids, storm petrels, crab-eating raccoons, silk worms, piranha and ammonites!
Hey me too. I have always been a fan of unique character, espeshialy Insects. The majority of my fursonas are insects. Do you share your art on the internet?
I have a bat fursona, not sure if he'll ever live, but I 100% agree, I don't think I've ever seen a beetle on the interwebs, I would love to see one though!
if splatoon and spongebob taught me something, you can make many fun designs out of sea creatures. i have a cursola character which is a pokemon based on coral and she's one of my favorite characters i made :D
Choosing a unique and rare species for a fursona: This is nice. Creating an entirely new species for a fursona: This is great. Me, an absolute madman, creating a completely new species designed specifically for an entire fictional universe I'm making, and choosing to make a sona out of that: This is unorthodox... uncouth even... but I'm happy.
I actually have 4 axolotl fursonas! And I came into the fandom as an axolotl. (My pfp) and my sea bunny is named nugget! But I do agree ya don’t see many of these species around.
My fursona is a varying mix of a barn owl, A raven, A spider, A cat, A bigger cat, A butterfly, a snake, and a hatzegopteryx. He's basically his own creature at this point
I thought about making a goat sona back in the day, but I think I wanted to able to make sense of his skin being shiny, so I eventually decided on a yellow dragon instead---but I did keep the goat nose!
I actually made an anthro damselfly once which is close enough to a dragonfly. I vaguely remember making an axolotl at some point too. I definitely wanna do something with most of these species eventually though.
I swear even some mammal species are rare within the fandom, like only me and one other person I know has a wallaby sona, not to mention the abundance of wallaby species there are too
one of my fursonas (not my main one, that is a protogen) is a bee. I've seen 3 insect fursonas, one was a bee the other 2 were moths. i also have 2 dragon fursonas. I've kept them around, even though they were my first fursonas and badly designed, i actually love them. one looks SICK, and one is so fluffy and lovable. they would be, if i had a fursuit of them i can't afford a fursuit yet but I'm working towards it new fursona alert: proto dragon
Never seen anyone mention turtles, can't belive sea bunnies get more recognized than turtles, doesn't make sense to me, turtles are very well known reptiles.
I was sort of asking myself "Hmm, why isnt the ampwave in here?" but after that I started to think "Is it not rare? Or is it not a species?" Maybe you could tell me why its not there? Or you could make a video on them?
I've had 2 rare fursonas for a year now a leopard gecko and a hegdehog when I joined the fandom I wanted something blue I did not want to be a off brand sonic so I decided on gecko for my main and my hegdehog sona is of a stuffed animal
As A New furry, i don’t have a fursona or a fursuit yet since i just chose to become a furry today im choosing either a turtle or a Arctic Wolf i need your opinions because i cant choose
Yes! I have a Sea bunny fursona! Finally happy to see them mentioned

My slug fursona has to square up with them rn

people after watching this video:
*IM RARE NOW*
Well one of my characters is a hybrid with a chicken. (And I've only seen 2 people online with chicken fursonas)
@@catsplayharryholmes9482 uh ok nice.

Jellyfish personas too, they’re practically nonexistent and it makes me so sad because they’re so AWESOME

I personally have a crayfish fursona, kinda rare to see crustaceans mentioned anywhere tbh

As someone who has an eel fursona, thanks for mentioning us! This is the first time I think we were ever mentioned in a furry species video 🥲
Clearly everything pales to the legendary Nautilus fursona, an absolutely insane meta development banned in most formats
Yay I finally got mentioned. I technically am a wolf-axolotl but still finally axolotl got mentioned.
I thought about making a goat sona back in the day, but I think I wanted to able to make sense of his skin being shiny, so I eventually decided on a yellow dragon instead---but I did keep the goat nose!

I feel like at some point there will be a boom in axolotl fursonas
3:20 Orchid Mantis?? I love that band!!
I have seen almost no wolpertinger fursona, I love wolpertingers so I'm starting to make a lot of wolpertinger ocs (yes ik they aren't real animals)
as a person with a cormorant bird fursuit, i agree, I probably also have the only fursuit of my species. credit me. if i am
I just recently made the switch to axolotl in memory of Axol from SMG4.
Actually, a lot of dinomask furries have axololtl fursonas and dinomask!
Great video to have stumbled across !
~~100% not biased due to my axolotl fursona~~
My side of the fandom is all wolves, foxes and dragons.
I'm the only caprine, help
We need more crustecean sonas

Thanks for video in RUclips
first in the list axolotl: me MMMMM DONT THINK ABOUT AXOL
I’m gonna make a fursuit of all of these mixed into one
how about the entire world of microorganisms? that area is barely explored yet
