Really appreciate you taking the time to make these videos. I’ve been after a Helix for a couple months now and enjoy wrenching on my bikes. These videos have been great to not only know how to fix it after I get one but also what to look for before I purchase to know what’s stock or replaced.
Thanks again for entertaining me with your video and humor. I know why you put all Honda parts on and I usually do the same with all of my bikes but I was not a fan of the fuel pump. Maybe it would be better if the ethanol wasn't in our fuel. I kept having problems with the diaphragm sticking to the seat causing it not to pump fuel. I took the pump apart and saw the problem, oiled the diaphragm with Marvel, and reassembled it. Worked fine until it sat for a month. I guess I own too many bikes because I don't ride it enough.
Hi Scott, I'm actually not a fan of the fuel pump on this bike or the Ruckus. I've seen the fuel pump fail on both. Honda cared more about storage space, putting the gas tank under your feet than using a better system. But.....I still feel using their pump is a better option than the after market Chinese junk on Ebay. That was the message I was trying to say in my video. I've now added a fuel stabilizer to my gas every fill up because of exactly what you said. Ethanol messes everything up.
@@rubytheelite After the problems I had with the pump I started adding a little of Marvel every time I filled up thinking the oil would keep the diaphragm from sticking. I changed the fuel pump in my wife's Helix but still have the stock one in mine. I never understood why they ran the pump off the alternator pulses.
Hi Mark! I use www.hondapartsnation.com/oemparts/l/hon/5053e046f870021c54be047c/1999-cn250-a-parts to find part numbers because even if the part is not avaliable you can still see what the part number is. Once I get the part number, I usually prefer to order from Revzilla.com since shipping is free over $50. But I also try Amazon and Ebay as well for the best price I can find with shipping.
@@rubytheelite Thanks for that! I've found all your Helix video very informative and educational while working on my newly acquired '99 Helix. Looking forward to seeing everything else you are going to do.

Good stuff! Subscribed! Any ideas how to convert the foot brake to a hand brake? Thanks.
I never researched that to be honest. Wish there were two hand brakes! Welcome to my channel!!!
Do you have a website where you order all your Honda parts?
