There have been reports and news about my home state of Alaska having the perfect weather for EV's, at least in some parts of the state around Juneau because it never gets too hot or too cold so the battery doesn't deteriorate. I heard of one guy who has 70,000 miles on his Leaf and has absolutely zero degradation
@@azera55555 It seems to play a role in cold Norway as well, but don't get fooled by someone telling you the battery does not deteriorate. Nissan unfortuneately have been very clever in they way they display this to the owner of the car and how their battery reports are written. The top most bar on the degradation-meter in the Leaf will only disapear when the battery exceeds 15% capacity loss, the same is true for the battery report. So if you want to know at what state the battery really is at you need to connect to the OBD port and use LeafSpy or a similar program =)
wow so cool to see three different ev's on the road in new zealand without even trying, it's very exciting when you actually see these cars on the road! what was the plug in market share in NZ in 2018?
You are not the only one pissed off by toyota's self charging marketing. I don't know if you follow Robert Llewellyn with the popular Fully Charged show, he did a rant on the same subject recently. Anyway. Good to see you are back in an EV, even if just for a short period of time. *shouting in Japanese* Wishing you all the best!
According to my manual it is a matter of a few seconds to change the display language. Settings-- Language-- select -- Select Language. My first LEAF was Japanese Import to the UK, so presumably the same as the one in this video.
Kiwi EV .??? I would go to next english leaf and learn push button seqvence, of choosing languadge, write on something and do same stuff on japanese one! Thank me later😎😎😎
New Zealand imports a LOT of used cars from the Japanese domestic market. Such cars were never intended for export and as I understand it, those Nissan Leafs menus are locked into Japanese and with no easy way to change them. Yes it does cost $500 or more to have a Nissan Leaf (Jap import) modified to have an English reading display. Previously with ICE cars it was just the radio where the FM was restricted to Japanese only frequencies.
Good to see you in a EV again, you have a challenge in front of you convincing new zealanders to go electric. But I am sure you can do it, it is the superior option. Here in Norway 1/3 of all cars sold in the first months of the year have been tesla model 3. It's weird how a few incentives can change peoples mind about what they drive. Best of luck to you.
Don't have Leaf and "Leaf Box" but installed "PHEV Box" from the same company into my Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV last night, it's turn my absolutely useless "ECO" button into (almost) pure "EV mode" button.
Great to see you in an EV again. I had a red iOn like you had. :) Nissan Leaf has now 5 generations: evdb.io/Nissan/Nissan_Leaf This is the first gen Leaf: evdb.io/Nissan/Nissan_Leaf/24kWh but there is an another 24 kWh Leaf from 2013 which has almost 10% more range and used prices are very similar evdb.io/Nissan/Nissan_Leaf/24kWh-2013
Yeah the misleading adverts of Toyota are sad. Especially since they sell a hybrid with a plug and will go the BEV route in the future... (Disclaimer; I really like my Toyota hybrid :) )
... There's no used EV market to speak of, 2 used EV's in British Columbia Canada in last year (non leafs). Leafs have a few lemon years people are dumping on the market and i don't count those...
I love my ENV200 van , only 24kw battery but I drive every where in her , fantastic vehicle
Oh my 11/12 bars after just 40k, thats rough.
Good idea Gav, a short review of used ev's are certainly going to be usefull in coming times!

11/12 bars is good, that car is a 2011! 7 years of age on a Lion battery...
My leaf announces speed traps on the highway. That will be the japanese speech while you driving.
Love your show 👍🤩
Thanks for this. I've always enjoyed your videos.
9:22 "Self charging hybrids", hehe I enjoyed your reaction :-)

Huh, Vidiek, Nechajte si ju album...
Great choice! :-)
that's the greenlane vector charger within the first minute, have used that one a few times while cruising around the city
Greeeeen is the name of the band m8! I'd be jamming to it anyday. Sadly no modern japanese cars can be brought to the USA normally. :(

You didn't do a guide to buying a Nissan leaf???

To turn the music off PRESS THE POWER BUTTON ON THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN
Super popular electric car imported from Japan to Far East Russia .
I always thought you live in Slovakia 🤔,
Nice-oscar he used to do it. But he’s Slovakian wife were cheating on him :/
Why don't they give the option to change the interface language in the menu, like VIRTUALLY EVERY OTHER electric device with a user interface does?
The only Japanese word I understood was the word "Please". Japanese are very polite.
I think you make a mistake when sell the Peugeot Ion, it is a decent car for the money.

I have a sudden craving for fries after watching this video.
