Fantastic! Your experience has me promoting the IMEV as a great first car here in Oz. Hopefully you find a much renewed electrified NZ. We even hired an e-golf from Eurocar on a recent trip there. Thank you.
Thankyou Gavin, I have been following your adventures since you built that EV in New Zealand and you've provided plenty of fun videos over the years. Enjoy your break and look forward to what you get up to next time!!
Aw. We'll all miss your videos. Your cross-Slovakia trip helped us plan a London-Glasgow trip (700km) in our iOn earlier this year. Been a blast. Have a great holiday.
Thanks for all the videos. You were a main influence in my aquiring a used I MiEV. If you get to the east coast of Canada you are welcome to take mine for an adventure.
LOved your videos and wish you all the best turning a new leaf in your life. Would you consider a recap of financials regarding your ownership of the car? I liked your humourous honesty about the purchase and I'm sure people could learn a thing or two about financial viability of owning an ev.
Hi Gavin, I've been enjoying your content, watched all your original EV conversion videos, and followed your adventures in Slovakia. If you're in Hamilton NZ I'd like to have you over for dinner - it's hard for me to get out as a family man, so dinner at home is the norm with us. I'm married with three kids, also my brother-in-law and my wife's niece live with us, so a full house! I'm a kiwi bloke, my wife is Chinese. We have 3 Motels in Hamilton and 8 Tesla chargers - more Tesla chargers than anyone else in NZ, I think.
Thank you for all the good moments watching your adventures. Very professional job. I also own a Ion and I love it. I consider buying an i3 Rex, but not sure I’ll do it. PLEASE continue with your next car !!! Why not an i3 ?
I'm sorry to see that cute little car go. I still remember stumbling across one of your videos a few years ago and thoroughly enjoying it, especially the part where you dressed up in a suit at the end despite the heat just because you wanted to make a 'serious' statement :D You should definitely get the Zoe with 400 km range. The era of low-range EVs is over. You need a range of at least 250 to 300 km to be future proof, or at least be future proof until the next big EV leap occurs. By the way, what do you think of the Swedish EV start-up Uniti? I've been following them for a while, and I love the work they're doing. I even prebooked my next car from them. Uniti has the potential to make a real mark in the EV field if they persevere.

ohhhh what a shame....see this channel for the first time ...and now i see that you sold your ion. I bought mine last weekend...and my first ! drive was a nearly 500km journey...with fear and hope i survived and now i am happy to play around with canion etc....and winter will come ;-)
Thanks to you i was looking at the triplets but did go for an Leaf instead. Mixed feelings about it. But it got some better range and bigger car - much safer. Driven it four months now. Already noticing that the car (battery/range) dont like norwegian winter. But saving 100€ a week, probably have to QC couple days a week. Loving the car so much! An Zoe is quite good choice, only downside is that it can’t QC. Can recommend Soul EV as my little brother drives it. Love how much more range it got compared to my 24kwh Leaf.
Hey Gavin. Great to see another video of yours. Enjoy NZ and I bet your next EV will be a great step up from Peugeot Ion. Australia is excited about new EV options becoming available too
Pretty good to see a repeat customer. My imiev is currently sitting in the carport looking pretty surrounded by alot of snow. Only three more months to go before it will be warm again🙄. I told my mom it’s sort of like buying a snowmobile… A seasonal toy. How many kms did you put?Since June 2016 I drove 34,000 EV kilometres out of 47,770. Used 1,281litres. Which gives me a score of 2.682L/100kms!!

I bought my Leaf 24KWh for 11,5K€ and I will add a big pack in and ask for VAT invoice. So I will end up with 16,5K car and 300km+ range..
I expected this would happen, after the video about the battery degradation. The EVs available these days are just on a whole other level compared to what was available when the i-miev was new. It's a good time to avail yourself of the better technology out there now.
The newest version of the cells the iMiev uses are called LEV50-N they last longer (better chemistry). No sweat changing the cells yourself if you get your hands on a worn out iMiev for cheap. I don't know of any other EV that get 125Wh/km, no short of amazing. Battery box is also so simple in layout, that it would be possible to experiment with larger cells in it.
+Kiwi EV adventures Monica Lewinsky, was that the actual name of your ex or just a name you gave her for whatever reason she may have reminded you of a certain White House Intern.
Hehe. Her first name is actually Veronika, but "Veronika Lewinsky" fits so well that it's become her nickname. Now, I'm not saying she sleeps with a lot of men, but decades from now they'll have to bury her in a Y-shaped coffin... :D
