I remember having idle issues test-driving my friend's 03 Terminator KB2.2L car back in 2008 with monoblade design. Hearing you talk about the fundamentals such as high compression, high vacuum, and surface area really puts a 3D perspective in my head.
@@VMPPerformanceTV Please respond! I bought a fully ported air flow solutions cobra jet gen 2 intake manifold and I want to know if the 137mm monoblade will be ok to drive on the street? Will it be way too much on that blade? I want the drivability not just straight line full throttle
I had a 2012 GT500 (w/a 2013 SC) and bought the mono blade. Could not get it tuned; bad idle etc. Bought a VMP twin bore and a custom tune and bingo, great idle and WOT performance.
problems mono blad TB such as fail safe mode not catching idle .. 90% i need to adjust the stop screw so it can help the motor with startup and idle and part throttle its an old method but it works all the time it’s a trial and error process but i used it with KB and whipple TB’s with great success
In the 163R-G we use a softer stop spring so the motor can close the blade more easily for return to idle, but it does require a tune change to default angle.
Literally have a 16 gt/cs FBO with a ported cobra jet and stage 3 cams catless and my vmp 69mm just fried so I ordered a mini blade 163mm and I my tuner(lund) said these have a 50% fail rate although I just bought one, should I sell it and get a dual 69mm 🤷♂️
Had 2 69s fault on my 18 within 10k miles N/A. Got so sick of it i added plastic to the mouth of my cj to get the 163 to seal and havent had a single fail safe in 20k miles…

What’s the outside circumference of the twin 69mm? I can’t find anything for the life of me that tells me what size silicone I need for this TB to work. I want a tight snug fit. Also what size clamp?
That's nonsense. A butterfly valve is neutral to oncoming air. One side is trying to be pulled open while the other is trying to be pulled closed. Due to the pivot point, the forces equalise. The oval throttle body is probably sticking due to contact from thermal expansion or clearances not as accurate. A round throttle body is far easier to make precisely.

I have a big VMP mono on my Cobra.. love it!
Great explanation. I sold my mono for a twin 67. Driveability suffered before swap
Love my VMP TJ 67 thank you VMP!
Thank you for your business and support!

Good info. I imagine some of these issues are why Ford went to the dual TB setup.
Not quite
Thanks for the info
Nice information about them

Would that twin jet work on a 351w truck manifold? Obviously massive porting for the inlet. And different air intake hose

So for n/a on a coyote is the monoblade 137 better then a twin 69?
Extremely GREAT VID!
Any update on when the 21+ F-150 5.0 superchargers will be available?
No formal date yet. We are working at it and will publish widely as soon as we have something firmer.
Good info
Why do aftermarket cams help alleviate the vacuum? Shouldn't they increase the vacuum due to more duration and lift?
No you get overlap…where the intake and exhaust valves are slightly open at the same time which helps with scavenging

Hope all is well,, Is the bolt patterns the same on both throttle body’s
Which one would you recommend on my 2012 gt500 it’s stock
Thanks very informative

So you’re saying the drivability sucks on the mono blade. ?
No, tuned right its very good, but most people have unreasonable expectations from their 1000rwhp cars.
@@VMPPerformanceTV I am sure that is the truth.
