      Wolfey and CybertronVGC I recommend to newer players because they're good at analysis for gameplay. Though Wolfey is a bit more unconventional with his building, it helps you get team ideas when you get a grasp on the meta Imo

    Totally loved this. It really shows how much intelligence is needed to play competitive Pokémon properly. I feel like an idiot throughout the whole video but my interest for it just kept me wanting to see more. Great Job Wolf!

    I've watched the educational playlist but I still don't know the concepts behind building a vgc team. I've been playing pokemon since it first came out when I was a little kid and finally want to try competitive, so I'm looking for any info I can on the concepts behind it.
    I can infer a lot from the way you do it, but I really get a lot of benefit from things just being clearly explained.

    I'm still learning how to play competitive format, but it's always good to remember that even a world champion can lose sometimes! This makes me feel better about my losses and motivates me to keep on improving.

    I find the pre-round thought process the most interesting bit. I never played competitive mostly because I never had a Nintendo console, so I have to emulate the games. The battle tree, which is the most challenging game mode (that is not self imposed), actually made me think about the fights. So I can recall my own mental process of team building and it's so exciting to see how much above Wolfey is. His strategy is on a level of his own.

    I didn’t have much background info on this tournament, but I had a question. In the first match I noticed you knew what items some of the opponent’s mons had (eg pachirisu sitrus). Were some of the players’ sets public or was this an educated guess based on common builds?

    • @cuttlefish6839
      @cuttlefish6839 2 года назад +23

      Since it's the first tournament in this meta game they are using information from their previous performances.
      So yeah its more of an educated guess

    This was good to watch. I haven't played a main pokemon game since actual DP era, so getting BDSP was real special to me. And now that I actually have friends I can obtain my fav pokemon ever for the very first time, Steelix, and attempt to make my "Gym" steel type team. Very excited to learn more competitive strats and try this out.
