MAKE THIS A SERIES AHHHHH
love your vids
This was such a banger of a video, thanks to all the stuff I learned here, I could anticipate what was in store and enjoyed it very much :)
Rilaboom part actually got me
But where’s Blaziken? 😢
A full series for every type in a video like this would be nice

Would be cool, but like cmon, not gonna be a whole lot of contenders for bug, poison, ice, and maybe flying
@@MEISMUDKIPS fair, for flying i bet it'd be landorus so i guess you are right
We need this in our lives, Wolfey hear our calls
Parting Shot is such a funny idea. Incineroar basically just calls you a bitch as he leaves. 😂
LMAO💀
Nobody:
Incineroar: You got bad credit! *bails*
I mean he IS a dark type.
And then he comes back, calls you a btch again with intimidate and slaps you in the face
I picture star lord flipping off Thanos and then portal away 😂
The funny thing about a world champ discussing competitive pokemon history is that sometimes it sounds like "And then the trojan horse was accepted as a gift and wheeled into the village. I was one of the guys in there it was crazy"

What
My favorite thing about Primal Groudon was that it actually hard countered Primal Kyogre on the lead. If your opponent had a Primal Groudon, you could never lead your Primal Kyogre, because their Groudon was probably slower than your Kyogre. In that case, your Kyogre would revert first, and then their Groudon would overwrite your Primordial Sea and your Kyogre no longer threatens it.
Thats why Wolfe brought Ray-Ogre to worlds.
All these fire types and the hottest thing in the video is still Wolfey

Actually think its Rillaboom, he seems to be always a Fire-type in my games...and also a world champion already
Watched till the end gang
Agreed 👍
Was gonna type that but I suppose I’m a few hours late
monke go boom 🔨
rillaboom is on fire when he comes out ( literally )
Not to mention, theres no gimmicks behind incinaroars power. As long as he is legal and his moveset doesn't change, he's generation proof.
He's a genuinely well designed pokemon.
If the rest of the dex was given a similar power level smoothing treatment the game would be insanely diverse.
He's an honest pokemon. He doesn't rely on just pure offense, defense, typing, ability, or movepool. He dips into everything and supports any pokemon that comes with him.
The guy is the protagonist in battles because he's the jack of all trades. If every other mon had his versatility then everyone would/could use their favourite pokemon in competitions without feeling like they're gimping themselves or throwing.
@@SkyNinja759But then a lot of Pokémon would feel same-y. Incin is well-designed, but… I think Syndrome of _The Incredibles_ fame said it best
@@SkyNinja759Smaller metagames are just better to play.
yeah, keep acting like giving a pokemon, parting shot, u turn, intimade and fake out in the same set inst OP.
@Madifuhao-ym1ut oh there's no denying that. It's complete bs. But he's here, legal, and dumb strong
To think that Typhlosion and Charizard were shown for defense and offense respectively is remarkable, considering they have the same stats. Fire is truly a remarkable type.
Waiting for the dark type video to be Incineroar as well
i mean it is
Yep
That's the only downside to doing this as a series is all the crossovers.
@@xretcyvbnimo He's probably gonna say something like "and also, I'm not gonna talk about Incineroar since I talked about him enough in the first video, but know if i did, he would proably be #1", with some extra time to plug his old video and encourage you to watch it.,
@@Endershock1678no because that would spoil the video, making the viewer less curious to watch it if they already know the result
I agree with the incineroar take because of how insanely flexible he is and how he could buff any team he’s added to
But it nerfs every Team. It's a furry
@@TheRealAquazso true
Incineroar is simply that guy, he is literally constructed out of a different material just built completely different.
I dont play Pokemon competitively, but I think it has to be Incineroar. It doesn't need a Generation Gimmick, and as long as it has Intimidate and access to pivot moves, it'll always be good.
Agreed, people always forget that typhlosion has the exact same stat spread as charizard, that goes to show how disgustingly overpowered the gimmicks are.
@@tady_toestyphlosion is pure fire and has a worse movepool
@@falconx8402 but eruption strong and go boom 💥 💥 💥
@@tady_toes
Typhlosion could gain 10 stats everywhere and still wouldn’t see play.
Likewise. I play doubles in Scarlet and Violet on occasion and the fact that I almost always see Incineroar on opposing teams, so I get tired of it pretty quickly and go to single battles. Here's your guy looking to play shiny monotype teams, organizing around that theme as much as possible, then Incineroar comes in and ruins my day. It's one of the reasons, along with the fact I really learned to not take Pokemon as seriously as others, that just makes Pokemon not a fun experience unless I'm playing with friends or family.
Can I just say how insane the sound design is on this video?
None of the sound effects overpower Wolfe’s voice, and they’re all equally entertaining without stealing the show. Big props to the editor.
true
Nice catch.
Yeb
a
Yippee!
And to think that both groudon and zard need to use a gimmick , while incineroar is straight up busted without using anything really shows something
Incineroar uses the Hidden Ability gimmick from Gen 5 for Intimidate. It might be my most hated gimmick ever because it was almost impossible to get ahold of the Pokemon with the Hidden Ability I wanted back before Gen 8. It was just taunting me with what I could never have.
groudon doesn't "need a gimmick" it's super strong on its own, it just isn't a fire type so it wasn't mentioned in this video
@@Asp_N ...isn't Groudon fire ground ?
@@nether_prince3021 Primal Groudon is. Regular ol' Groudon's just Ground.
@@masterplusmargarita *insert Pikachu's surprised face
Wolfey: “What is the WORST fire-type?”
Magcargo: “oh no”
Wolfey: “Blacephalon”
Magcargo: 😮💨
😂
Macargo is good in everything but typing. If you set up trick room and u turn out with a fast pokemon, macargo can deal massive damage. Priority still hurts him though
imo Magcargo has a nice design at least. Blacephalon is an unsettling head-asploding clown ghost abomination, and probably the least cool Ultra Beast. and in terms of version exclusives in the Ultra games, Stakataka clears. love that thing.
In singles its absolutely pdon, it warps every metagame around it so significantly its absolutely insane. It's power, bulk and utility with stealth rock (and now spikes in natdex), as well as primal Kyogre not faring as well in singles makes it very hard to deal with both defensively and offensively
21:19 I understand what you're saying, but this is so funny to see. "Perfect Well Balanced Fire Type" and Primal Groudon in the same sentence is hilarious
“Those words, can they even be used together in a sentence like that”
The moment I clicked onto this video, I just knew it was gonna be Incineroar. I will never forget Wolfey's rants about Xerneas and Incineroar lmfao
Another crazy thing about Incineroar is that it didn't require a regional gimmick to reach its heights - G-Max Charizard and Primal Groudon are limited to their respective games in which those mechanics can be used, but all Incineroar needs is an Ability Patch to give it its hidden ability and its ready to wreck shop. Great video! I'd love to see a series for every type expand out of this!
It never occurred to me that Hidden Power water would be useful in Desolate Land because it does water-type damage while technically not being water-type. Also nice to hear that random little opinion on what you think is the worst fire-type. Never realised it was something I always wanted to know.
The move still fails under Desolate Land. It's boosted by Rain, weakened by Sun, etcetera. It's only a Normal move when Z boosted or displaying itself to hide the power.
I am so unbelievably excited not necessarily to see incin return to vgc but to see the counterplay to it when it does. Clear amulet, covert cloak, and moves like upper hand are gonna make incin's interactions that much more interesting. Can't wait for the incin vs. iron hands battles
Not to mention with nerfs to abilities like Intimidate it can’t rely on constantly switching in and out for multiple activations
Incineroar out here single handedly balancing the game by its existence alone
I can already tell you, the Counterplay is gonna be use your own Incineroar.
@@Cloud_Danceris you on crack.
@@Cloud_Dancer what nerfs? It still operates the exact same as when it was created.
One interesting thing to note is that incineroar never had knock off and parting shot in the same format, but might have both in the indigo disk since knock off is a tm in the teal mask
I love the balance that Wolfey has for being the right amount of smug. He's humble enough to not mention he's the world champion all the time, but also doesn't ever miss the opportunity to slyly bring it up when he's the innovator of a particular strategy
I would genuinely love to see you do this series for every type. I know it will take a while and involve a lot of work but I think it would be worth it. I’m very interested on combining the history and facts
Doing every type almost certainly isn't worth it when the dark type video will come to the same conclusion as this one
Shoutout to Mega Blaziken for terrorizing UBERS in singles 👍
I never knew it was GOOD in ubers, just that it was in it. What generation was this?
@@daniellejackson6543 Mega = Gen 6. But yes. Speed boost + 160 Base Attack is good :D
was it really good tho? both mm2, mega mence and mega gengar are way better pokemon and were way more used in UBERs from what i rmbr. was it even better than mega lucario? in my memory it was just too strong for OU but certainly did not "terrorize" UBERs and while it was clearly not OU i think there were way more broken pokemon that were initially OU like marshadow or mega kang. shit gets walled by giratin and even toxapex can check it as well
@@ahmadadnan4773 i am not talking about the matchup against them but the opportunity cost of using a mega blaziken instead of a better mega pokemon. mega mence has way more utility (like checking the best pokemon in the tier and defogging on it, primal groudon) and mega gengar can trap arceus fairy or chansey while mega lucario can revenge kill geomancy xerneas.
also knock off doesnt ko either giratina forme even after a swords dance and you cannot hit both giratina and toxapex with the same set unless you drop a STAB move.
theres also flare blitz recoil and the tier has strong priority users like e-killer arceus or marshadow, i think mega blaziken is better on paper than in reality.

Another cool thing about fire types is that all 3 of the type's weaknesses have 1 common weakness so if your fire type has even 1 grass type move (like solarbeam which most of them get) they are pretty much completely set with coverage
Thats not really how coverage works, you need to cover the types that RESIST fire and those are Water, Rock, Dragon and other Fire types.
Thing is very few Fire types not named Scovillain and Ogerpon H have access to reliable Grass coverage
very true
@@walaceandrade4046 to be fair that just makes it a bigger deal considering grass deals with 2 of those too
@@Roflmao6173 not really. Being able to hit dragon and other fire types at least neutraly is more important than dealing non-stab-supereffective damage to a type you should be running from anyways.
Incineroar is my favorite Fire Starter from the start and been so happy with how much it has gotten love over time and caused such chaos.
While not overriding the weather, Air Lock (and Cloud Nine to a lesser extent) could also be included as one of the few other ways to hit Primal Groudon with water moves.

Great vid as usual. The more frenetic editing went a long way in keeping the energy up!
I love Incinaroar, and very glad he is getting some recognition. One of my favorite starters and my favorite fire type.
The editing in this video is actually insane, wow 🔥
I think it's Incineroar tbh. It's flexibility of it's moves and the fact that you don't need a Red Orb or Dynamax to use it makes it even better.
Can we get a video like this for every typing? Amazing animations, effects, presentation as always 11/10.
Man I watched like 4 of your videos today… I’ve never seen so many unskippable ads in my life man… that makes the viewing experience super awesome dude!!!
You should’ve given an honorable mention to VGC’s newest riding star, Hisuian-Arcanine
Same reason chi yu and Ogerpon weren’t on the list. Only been legal for one full season
@@therealivysaurit has 2 4x weaknesses and 2 regular weaknesses not 4. Plus it has a good base stat total and move pool.

@@eelishanninen5153 Yeah but it's winning everything. While it has 4 weaknesses, it also has 7 resistances and grass or fairy tera cover it's weaknesses very well. Coalossal is goated!!! I remember having him with stealth rock flamethrower iron defense and will o wisp and being dominant
With this retrospective here, I am kinda thinking what a format would look with everything legal:
-Mega
-G-Max
-Z Moves
-Terra
-All Versions of all abilities and moves
-etc.
Just everything legal, what would that format look like and what would be the best team?
I am guessing G-Max Primal Groudon would suddenly be the new best fire type, having also access to the Terra Type swap at any time.
please do all types!!!!
In my opinion, Primal Groudon is the best. It placed 2nd through 8th at 2016 with the exception of 6th, and the team that managed to stop it had both Rayquaza AND Kyogre. Plus, the amount of Pokémon that can reasonably and viably run a mixed set is VERY few - pretty much just Groudon. The tools needed to deal with it alone is a good show for how powerful it really was.
I agree Prim Groudon is the most "Powerful" fire type..
But not the best fire type
Thank you for immediately mentioning Arcanine and its versatility. It's my favourite Pokemon of all time overall, and I always try to make teams based around it because of the sheer volume of usefulness it has in battle.
Thus was fun, informative, and very entertaining. Thanks for a great video, Wolfey!
It's gonna be Incineroar right? Incineroar is such a customizable Pokemon and with access to some great support moves, it's just the best.

These kinds of videos you make are my favourite ❤ your sense of humour really shines
Poketubers always have the best fire type puns, my favorite is shofu "if you want some fire I'll show where the mag be" referencing Magby and a magnum firearm commonly shortened to mag. (Ex. .357mag)
Chandelure because I like him. :)
But yeah, Incineroar definitely wins. The amount of trauma that thing gave me as a kid was insane.
Incinaroar's natural resistance to Prankster has led to many team rebuild, and it's bulk is often shocking. But I'm very curious if it will continue this streak in gen 9. I have a feeling clear amulet will get very, very popular
Intimidate is already dominating thanks to ol' reliable Landorus and newcomer Hisuian Arcanine, yet Clear Amulet is virtually nowhere to be seen. Why?
Because Clear Amulet is a noob trap; every offensive-inclined Pokemon that could theoretically benefit from it would always rather have another power-boosting item instead.
@@randallsage2Your onion, m8.
Definitely agree, although my top reasoning for deciding between the three is the elephant in the room not mentioned. It’s the only 1 of the three that doesn’t rely on a gimmick meaning it’s the only one that will be in future games.

In national dex you can now use heatcrash with primal groudon. Meaning that it now has a 120 power physical fire type attack that CAN'T miss
Yeah Heat Crash is pretty cool but it isn't that good for Pdon i think. Pdon is very heavy but so are most legendaries it faces in Ubers, so Heat Crash will rarely reach it's maximum 120 BP.
For similar reasons, Low Kick is basicaly Close Combat but better in Ubers since it will consistently have 120 BP without the defense drops.
@@Luragon9876 It all depends on what the intended targets of Heat Crash are at the end of the day. Precipice Blades covers most of those heavier legendaries pretty well, with only Celesteela and maybe Yveltal using Roost mindgames taking all of PBlades, Heat Crash, and, say, Stone Edge for coverage particularly well. Meanwhile, Landorus, Gliscor, and of course Skarmory, Corviknight, and Ferrothorn all get more or less annihilated by 999.7 kg Heat Crash.

you should try to make a snow team by taking advantage of aurora veil and snow cloak. with Iron bundle using snowscape, reflect, and light screen, while also having speed maxed and a defensive ev spread, and light clay. Articuno (for snow cloak) using aurora veil and blizzard, and a weakness policy. And maybe Mamoswine, I don't have the rest figured out but I hope you see what I am going for.
I would go with Groudon, though I completely understand your call. To me, the only reason that Groudon wasn't the same level of spamability as Incineroar is that when it was viable a SIGNIFICANT portion of your planning was dedicated to specifically it. If you only have an ok incineroar check, you still have a chance. With Groudon, you either had a plan for it or lost. So it didn't win one tournament, but it's telling that the sheer effort of beating it is what proved your World Champion Difference.
I love Incineroar - its design and competitive build are top notch.😄 Especially with Tera, it can remove its weaknesses to get a better type if needed. But its greatest moveset with Fake Out and Parting Shot can be bypassed with Covert Cloak and Clear Amulet respectively. So i curious how it will fair in Gen 9. What is your take on this? 🤔
those items won't make any difference to Incineroar; the meta is already full of Fake Out (Iron Hands, Rillaboom) and Intimidate (Landorus, H-Arcanine) and yet those two items are rarely ever seen
Cloak has only been used on Tornadus which Incineroar can just pivot out of for free and Clear Amulet is a meme; offensive Pokemon would far rather run offensive items that boost their power
@@randallsage2 Sure but Ogerpon made players run Tera Dragon. Intimidate made players run Clear amulet and Lash out when there is Defiant and Guard Dog. I am basically saying anything is possible, so things can be said with Incineroar around the corner
