Great info as always.. My 2017 SS has the stock converter and I am seeing that common issue with vibration. Need to upgrade any suggestions?
My van has six bolts but the circle D converter they sent me only has three bolts
What was the pre-fill fluid capacity for the Circle D GM 258mm Pro Series C6 6L80E torque converter?
I have had 2 circle D converters fail within 6 months. The first time it failed it sent debris through my trans and destroyed my clutch. Had a brand new GM clutch installed and circle d sent me a new upgraded race series converter. it only lasted about 30 days. completely fed up with them. I was wondering if you had any issues with yours? I went with a 3200 stall the first time and down to a 2800 the 2nd time.

So who is the best rebuilder for these transmissions, I’m at 94k and have dark fluid , at the flush/ fill servicing
What stall did you go with? Also it looked like there was an access area on the drivers side. I don't remember seeing one on my 2017 SS. Did I just not see it?
Did you have the tc shudder everone is experiencing with the stock coverter now lethal?
I haven’t had a stock converter for over a year. But never had the shutter issue

Probably not.
At 6:10 sounds like you are either working in Cooter’s garage or the taco truck showed up.
Is it true when you CAM these A8 transmission on the 16-18 models you have to upgrade the Torque Converter anyways ?
Depends on the cam spec. If you want to avoid surging on a stage 3 cam, most will swap the converter.
Why did you remove the converter? Why did you choose the one you replaced it with?
Was way too loose, got a FTI.
@@Lethalgarage Thank you for the fast response. I'm currently in the market for a Gen 5/6 and I have concerns with the automatic transmission (shuddering, slow to shift, overheat etc). The plan is to daily driver, autocross 10+ times per year and do a couple road track day. per year. I don't mind changing some parts out including the TC, I just like knowing what I have to do to get the car driving right.

I have a question my transmission is vibrating when I drivin or shudder I still have power train warranty in the car the dealer told me I have to pay for the car to do a expection is it true even tho I have full warranty?
They should cover it under warranty
warenty will just cover a flush and the upgraded fluid. this normally fixes it.
Have you ever done a torque converter install and car won’t start afterwards? My car has been down for near 3 weeks. Put in high stall and shift kit and car won’t even crank over now.
Might not have pushed it all the way in. Id take it out and start over
Rocko Nido it ended up being a connector above the transmission that was super tricky to get connected and one of the prongs inside bent so it wasn’t making a good connection. Bent that back and plugged it in right and it was perfect. Now my reverse isn’t too happy. The whole car shakes when I put it into reverse. Thinking about taking it to the dealership and having them go through it.
How much different did the manual shifting feel compared to stock?
it doesn't like when I shift too soon.
What is the labor cost to get this done?
Depends on the shop. But labor and trans fluid usually $500-700

Nope
So how do you really feel about putting in a roll cage lol? I think you're easily going under 9.9 I guess dragging and roll racing are what most muscle car people are into its just the gen6 chassis is also made to run laps, once you get a taste of the drag strip it's too much fun though.

@@Lethalgarage would a 3200 circle d torque converter be ok for daily driving ? 8 speed automatic.
@@armyofone2134 it will rev out a bit more, but would be fine.

@@armyofone2134 maybe if you were drag racing the car light to light. If you have a good trans fluid, you’ll be fine. These cars have a lot of trans cooling.
Why did you do this? And what about your warranty? I got 2 years left on my factory warranty then an additional 5 year extended warranty I purchased. So I dont gotta fuck with anything..
Being fast means not staying stock. If you’re worried about your warranty, you’re on the wrong channel.
What do those stock a8 handle horsepower wise?
most say 700-750 is pushing it, but I have seen them doing okay at 800-900. Honestly I think my trans is on borrowed time.
LethalGarage so does the new converter allow for more torque? I’m building the LT1 in my stingray and should be in the 800whp range
It support more power for sure, but it mainly allows me to launch in power.

You mean the converter feels looser. So basically you are saying you have to give it more gas compared to stock converter to get it moving....I had a yank PT4000 w/3.23 gears in my 02 SS Camaro. It was loose but it didn't bother me because when you go WOT with a loose converter. Hold on lol :)
