  • Hey, you guys thanks so much for all the positivity and great feedback on these videos. I love the community we’ve created here and it just keeps growing thanks to you guys!
This concept of filming yourself in whatever capacity you can and listening back is a great tool. It helped me to get out of my own head and realize that sometimes it’s not as bad as you think!
I suggest trying this as soon as you can to gain some perspective about your own playing.
Have fun with it and thanks again!

You're some kind of genius teacher by just playing and talking...

Great artists like John Oats and Billy Gibbons gravitate to Guthrie because he does something they can not, or have not done at the level Guthrie does. Improvisation on the edge! He has got to the point that what he hears in his mind he can transfer to his hands with no delay. These lessons and advice are all steps that will get us there. Maybe not in this lifetime, or a couple of lifetimes! Lol! That’s how special this guy is. Appreciate him. Bye the way, love that hat!!!!!

Guthrie, As player of 50+ years who is still trying to get better, each time I watch one of your video's I learn more. It seems like after watching a bunch of your video's about the cage system, now when I watch this video its all making sense now and its getting to be second nature to me when Im soloing....Each of your video's seems to be better than the last imo. IMO this is the best one yet. Please keep up the great work.....!!

I think this is one of my most favourite videos from Guthrie, and I’ve been following him for so long. I would normally not even bother trying to play anything this fast but him showing it slowly and playing it at slower speeds is so great. I have his ‘In the Jam’ but haven’t even bothered because it’s so fast, but this has given me the confidence to at least give it a go at slow speeds and appreciate it and learn what he is doing. Thank you 🙏
