    I agree with you trying to schedule my RUclips content was crazy! Sometimes i would be up in the middle of the night doing the editing part. The filming part is easy but when you re-watch your footage you see all of your mistakes lol. Since i started putting out my ship with me videos i started getting new views and subscribers. When it is just a one man\woman show its like having 10 jobs in one lol. A schedule is essential in this business. Im loving my journey and thankful that I get a chance to do this job. Service, income and enjoying what I love which is shopping and saving clothing from land fields. All a win win!
    Your family is blessed to have you!

    Hey Sean, hope everything is going well! I love the idea for this video and I'm someone who really, really likes to have a solid routine. I have a part-time employee as well who almost exclusively photographs & measures items for me. Here's what my life looks like (and I run on 2 week cycles): I source every Thursday and every other Monday in a nearby city. Sourcing days are early mornings to pull and pack orders and get on the road so that I'm at the first store on my circuit when they open. I'll source more or less all day and head home so I can have dinner with my family and help with the evening routines for the kids. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and my "off" sourcing Mondays are all about the same during the winter months -- I prep items for photography, manage inventory, pack & ship orders, address customer service issues and returns as well as all of the listing. When the weather is nice, I usually work half days at least 2 days a week and will work outside around my acreage those afternoons. Gardening, building things, taking care of livestock, mowing, maintenance, etc.
    Since I have to travel to source (like you do), I think it really helps to have a set sourcing schedule. It takes time though to figure out what stores make sense to stop in more frequently and what stores aren't worth stopping in at all. Believe it or not, I actually have a reselling coaching client on the south side of the Metroplex and I've been down there several times to DFW to source with him and get a lay of the land of what it's like down there. He has 120 thrift stores within an hour of his house. It's insane trying to figure out what stores to stop in, when the sales are, who puts out good inventory and how much they put out and when they put it out. I really have been challenged by the circumstances he's dealing with. I can't imagine sourcing in that area and having a 4 hour commute to get in there. Would make it so much tougher!

    • @TaylorExchange
      @TaylorExchange  7 месяцев назад

      That's a great breakdown and schedule.
      Ya the Metroplex is vast and full of thrift stores. I don't know if you've seen "K and M Resell" on RUclips but that's my friend Mike and his wife. They live down there and have a 90k 90 day total. It's a 2 person team but the proximity to all those stores is what gets you the opportunity for great items.
      I pretty much just scrap the bottom and find what I can. I plan to make 2 trips a week and see if I can work the business that way. Definitely more driving than I like but until my other incomes increase I believe this is the move.

    • @3acresandacow
      @3acresandacow 7 месяцев назад +1

      If I remember right my client and I have decided that his best path forward is to hit the Thrift Giants and the other thrifts that have reasonably proximity to them in the Lewisville/Frisco/Plano areas and focus on them. There's still probably 50 stores in a 20 mile radius that can all be counted on to get good inventory. And yes, I've seen the K&M channel and watched a few of their videos. I have no doubt the proximity helps them out a great deal.

    Hello, sort of new "full time" reseller here. In your video, you mentioned that you aim for a certain amount of items to buy from the thrift stores you source from. Do you worry about sell through rates at all or do you more focus on the volume of your inventory in your store to make your money?

    • @TaylorExchange
      @TaylorExchange  7 месяцев назад +1

      Sell through rate is extremely important, I don’t just buy anything although I have a lot of space to store items so I don’t mind some slower moving items.

  • @jondurand12
    @jondurand12 7 месяцев назад +2

    How much would you recommend reinvesting back into inventory?

    • @TaylorExchange
      @TaylorExchange  7 месяцев назад

      Ideal situation is you make more money profit each week then you spend on inventory.
      No right answer as it depends on your personal budget and finances.
      Bar math for me would be maybe 30% of incoming sales per week. 4.5k sales a week and spend 1.5k
      But if I came across an opportunity to spend 5k-10k I’d have to make the investment if I think the return is there.
