Guys from TDR are incredible people, not only their plugins are very useful and well thought out, they also release them for entirely free! What a selfless and great bunch!
Thank you for translating this deeeeep compressor for us. I think if you dig this one through and through, you'll know most important things about compression. I'll watch this several times. This new TDR one reminds me a lot of the great U-he Presswerk, I am using a lot. MolotGE even goes up the road a bit further. At first I thought I don't need this one but as I demoed it, I couldn't resist in the end. Nowadays I tend to use compressors (from Fuse Audio, Klanghelm, Softube or Kush) mostly as boxes to add color with a max of GR around 1-2 db. But MolotGE, what a workhorse this is. Suitable for all kinds of processing scenarios. It's such a welcome addition to Unisum and Presswerk for me. And with what a fair price this is coming along. I appreciate a lot what the TDR guys created over the past years and what phylosophy they have and with what consistency they act. The cooperation with Mr. Worrall here seems to make a perfect fit. Thanks. Stay safe and sound.
13:12 me thinking "it would be great to have a settings transport function" ... 13:23 Dan showing "copy setting from Molotok to Molot GE". This function shows how great TDR simply is. So well layed out. Provides everything you really need. I will buy the TDR Everything Upgrade today.
My goodness this isn’t a intro this is a full fledged course! I believe I’ve found the real life inspiration for Iron man’s Jarvis you’re voice tone, flow and character are iconic!
I love the GUI on this. Slightly oddly, it reminds me of Atari's Battlezone arcade game from 1980; the one where you look through a periscope and try to shoot wireframe tanks. That game had a radarscope that is vaguely similar to the meter on this.
Just came here because of that middle knob.. lol.. I was thinking it was RMS, Also, I never knew TDR had a RUclips Channel.. definitely watching a lot of your videos 🙏💜🔥
Imagine my delight-during a late-night (early morning?) plugin crawl-at finding an awesome new (free!) TDR compressor with a *proper Dan Worrall overview video* to boot! 5:57am never looked so good! Now I'm mildly regretting the USD$60 I _just_ spent on Waves CLA compressors (and their Rhodes instrument, which, admittedly, is quite good).
Molotok is hands down the best free character compressor plug-in there is, and Molot is also one the of the best commercial character compressor plug-ins IMO. U-he Presswerk and DMG Audio Trackcomp 2 are probably the ones that can compete with Molot in terms of tone and versatility, but there's just something about Vladislav's algorithms that make TDR plug-ins pure magic. Klanghelm's DC8C3 used to be my go-to ultimate compressor for a long time, but since I bought the TDR bundle it hasn't seen much use. Still a great comp though, and probably the best bang for your buck.
I needed new compressors because i have a new pc setup and my waves plugins don't work anymore. So needed alternatives... I found the molotok and the blue one from Tokyo dawn. I downloaded those free versions. Now i don't need the waves plugins anymore because i lime those plugins more and they sound better. 😎 Insane you are makting free versions of this, thank you tokyo dawn. This plugin is awesome.... and GREEEN!
I bougth this plugin as soon as I saw it was available (Love all the TDR stuff), but I have been struggling a bit to find my way around the interface and get to the sounds I wanted. I believe this video has helped - thanks
Little did I know when I thought I wouldn't need the TDR Molot as I have VladG's original Molot-design he released many years ago. Now, while watching Dan's video it made me laugh hysterically. This compressor is overwhelming. I need it.
Thx for the great "intro" of Molog/molotog ... Learning a lot of compression in general by just watching this !! Q: what kind of tool do you use the visualise respons (eg at 9:00) - seems a good educational help to me ...
it depends on what those "things" are, and how transparent you like your glue to be. you really have to take the time to abuse the ever-living snot out of a compressor - and on many sources - to begin to 'get' it's potential.
This is a general question. So in my chain which is purely dialogue based, I set my HPF at 110 on a previous chain, so once I go about adding molotok, if I set a sc on to my HPF, do I set it higher or lower then my previously set HPF so it doesn’t cause issues? Would u set a side chain on ur HPF ur already set a HPF that could potentially make u sound worse
I find myself preferring Molotok, even though I own a Molot GE license. Molot GE has too much parameters to be used intuitively, especially since it's not always clear how parameter settings interact.
Firstly many thanks! You guys are awesome! A tip off(?): Do you think you could possibly 'acquire' Magpha EQ? Seems the developer has lost interest in it & wont be updating anymore... [no need to reply here, just a thought...]

I thought buying the sonible suite would save me time, and let me just make music 🎶? Its just not flexible enough to get the specific tonality expressed for me. I found logic stock compression, saturation, eqs just as relevant with Sonible unfortunately. But, now Kiive was intoxicating me, and IK medias suite as well, then I said hell with it, I'll just get Fab Filters package... Then Dan pops up, and clearly cleans the floor with them all, even Fab... I prefer the sound of this frequency articulator... This compressor sure doesn't hold back on features. apart from multiband. the one thing missing. Or TDR Nova where every bands compressor is a Molot GE

Seriously! After watching Dan explain the new filter pack, I ended up buying every TDR plugin except SimuLathe!
I only start using plugins after Dan tells me everything I should know in 20 minutes.
Ok
Right!? I love Dan's videos. I'll even watch them if I don't even own the plugin because they're so informative (and relaxing)! 🤣
The best company with magnificent plugins ⚡💎🔥
The coolest thing about this plugin is that no matter how it is set it plays nice ragga hip hop🙃
Just bought the GE version via Plugin Boutique with a nice discount. Great stuff TDL ❤

Whew, this is a lot to digest. However, I can see how there are so many possibilities with this compressor. Thank you so much for the tutorial!
Thanks Dan. Another informative video. We appreciate you!
Ah yes yes, TDR and DW, my kind of TV...I can binge watch your plugins introductions anytime
I just discovered that hovering the mouse over the VU meter and scrolling with the mouse wheeel changes the scale of the meter values. Fun!

These Spikey Tee tracks are really dope. Thanks to Tokyo Dawn Labs & Records!
there is something very beautiful with this compressor, it doesnt just compress it adds life too, thanks for detailed analysis, i love it
That is the main reason why I love it as well. I own FF Pro EQ3, but nearly always reach for Molot!
i think this is the best plugin maker on the market of whole vst world ...all their plugins have a tweakability impossible to find elsewhere
DMG and Melda have much more tweakable plugins.
Not that that makes them better than TD plugins.
