Vox vox Vox Vox Vox... so you're telling me we get pedals now... well we'll well
wanted to check these out see if they're worth the hype!
Let me know what you think about them?!
Truth be told, I have the Vox MV50 clean (mini 50 watt 1/2 stack). I love the new tube stuff, reacts similarly to a tube amp but great for home/ small gig stuff.
Been contemplating getting one of these. I truly believe NuTube is the future.
Always love hearing your style
I really loved the sound of the copperhead drive. Nice!
I liked the idea of Nutube when Vox first introduced them a few years back. Never bought one but am always looking for one.
😂 I loved the wizard story! Great content Mike
I use a tube amp, a solid state, and amp-in-a-box pedals. They each have their uses for me.
Amp in a box pedals are all I use. Straight in to return of an amp. Or in to front of a clean amp. Or even straight in to IR loader.

I've yet to try a proper amp in a box, but I do have a hybrid system set up. My pedal board has all of my regular effects running into a Stomp, which has presets geared towards modulation and EQ for when I'm running into an amp, or sims and IRs for when I'm running DI. There are even some stereo and hybrid set ups I have, which is a bit complicated, but sounds amazing the rare chance I get to hook those up.
love the old thicc bass tones from vox, you can't beat it
Love the vibe of your "project". Can't wait to hear more. :)
I know that 153k subscribers is a lot, but you definitely deserve more

My wife got me the Mystic Edge for Christmas, and it sounds awesome for direct recording. I’ll also be using it when going direct for smaller gigs in the future.
I've been watching all your videos (as much as possible), and love them! Thank you for doing what you do! But, for me this is something that is common, and in a way, not what I started watching your videos for! the heaviest to lightest thing (I think I know where this is coming from), but isn't you! I love your stuff man! please be the person you started as! but this is still a good video! thought I'd leave a comment as a fan, with my honest critique!

For gigs, always an all-in-one solution like a Kemper Stage. At home or rehearsal for my personal enjoyment, an old tube amp turned way tf too loud.
You want vox sound? Get the MV 50 AC amplifier. It is a few years old now, but it sounds amazing.
I’m using a Silk Drive as my always on drive pedal for at home practice, but I’m very curious about using it for recording at some point! As for the tone, I think it’s amazing
I also use the Silk Drive as my always on! Along with my Origin Effects Sliderig (dual chained 1176 compressor). Love it dearly.
I love my Vox ac 15- I have the alnico blue in there and serves as the best possible pedal platform for me personally ! Can’t go wrong with the green backs too!
Amp in the box pedals are cool- I dig all the creativity in this industry. Nice video :)

Vox!
i love my vox valvetronix tonelab st pedal.
I ditched my PC's amp sims and I'm getting a DSM & Humboldt Simplifier
Let’s go, can’t wait( is it a podcast?
I am in for everything... tube to solid state to digital
as far as the tube amp or digital thing goes, I generally like digital in the studio and amps live. There’s something about the push that into him give you that I feel is lacking in most digital amp simulation. And this was kind of confirmed for me when I went and saw Polyphia a week ago. The tone was good, but it felt like it was missing some beef. but maybe the answer is in the middle because I run a tube amp with cab sim and analog drives and digital modulation/delays for my live rig
I also feel like it depends on the situation. I record ampless, and there is some pedals that I have moved on from because they just didn't work on my rig. The hizumitas from EQD is one where into something digital it sounds VERY ok and overloads it quickly. However, that sucker into an amp is fantastic. I see us crossing paths again somedays but for now its not working out.
Oh just wait until you try a UA ruby.
Actually considering getting one, the mystic edge has been on my board for quite a while, is the extra few $$$ worth it for the upgrade?
Mike, what are you using to play along with?
I think if korg/vox would make adapters to the tubes thier tech on nutube will make them more profitable especially since the tube shortage happened lol
I have yet to hear a pedal that emulates the Orange hyper-saturated distortion without creating a ton of noise or uncontrollable feedback. The closest thing I've played is JHS's Angry Charlie (love that thing). But still, by the time you get to high-gain tones on most pedals, they tend to fall apart in my experience. Maybe it's just me though! These pedals are definitely doing something right. Personally, I'll be sticking with my tube amps for just a bit longer till I find the right piece of gear!
I use the Fuzzlord Effects FET120 for my Orange sound. I'm not sure how far you push it but it gives great Dopesmoker tones to the people who actually are fuzzlords, and it gives me a wonderful Fleetwood Mac's The Chain sort of tone. Wampler had a pedal cat the Cata-Pulp which was modeled after the Rockerverb. It's been discontinued but you can find one on reverb for around $160 usually.
@@baileywatts1304 oof! Thank you, I will definitely be looking these up! Thanks for the recommendations!!
Orange Getaway Driver, Orange TT Stamp, Orange Bad Bangeetar, Earthquaker Monarch, Orange Guitar Butler, One Control Fluorescent Orange, AMT O-Drive, Joyo Oxford Sound, Joyo Orange Juice, Tech 21 Oxford Sound.
For heavy try keeping your right hand closed. Helps me
it depends on what's more comfortable for you for me it's the amp it has that feel idk

Tone X pedal, that is what is next it seems like. Just picked up one and started tooling around, man it sounds great.
Love your video, thank you for your great content! Actually I'm not quite sure what the future of tube amps will be. Mainly because there are not a lot of tube manufacturers left. Even though everybody praises tube amps, it's old technology. Tube amps are heavy, need constant maintenance, need a certain load/volume to sound good etc. And in the end, all they do is changing an electric signal. I like tube amps but you can get the same results either digital (Amplitube etc.) or with amp simulation pedals, Kempers etc. (Remember, it's just the change of an electric signal, no wizard magic happening inside those tubes =) Further you don't need to put a microphone in front of those "digital" amps, you can go DI out directly into the front of the house and you can deliver your sound directly to the sound technician without all the hustle with microphone, cables or heavy lifting. I get that tube amps feel cool when you play them, but in my oppinion, we don't really need them anymore.
FWIW, the nutubes in these pedals & some new Vox amps *are* electronically tubes, just lower power in a different smaller casing. They are repurposed vacuum triodes originally used as digital displays in appliances before LEDs. They can only be used as preamps, hence the use in pedals, amp sims & hybrid amps. They respond as tubes, if not precisely as as older high power tubes.
The magic of Vox amps lies in the TUBES that are used in them. There's no substitute for vintage tubes in real amps.
Finally Adrian, Been reading all these comments waiting to see if anyone actually knows that the secret is in the TUBES…. You my friend have wisdom and great “ears"
@@J.OKRoadrunner It's simply fantastic how much of an "open secret" this seems to be! Try to stock up on your vintage replacements now before prices get even crazier! :)
NuTubes ARE tubes, designed specifically as tonal replacements for a 12AX7. When they figure out how to do it in a power tube format, it’ll be a huge game changer.
Amp in a box sounds old in 2023...
I prefer amp-like-eq pedal for the market today.
Drop the tim colab Mikey ol' pal 😉😉😉
Vox vox
why use an amp in a box with an actual amp? I don't get when this happens
It changes the character of the amp to sound like a different amp… pretty simple, right?
man, when you say heavy, play freaking nadir from black tongue
But.....DOES IT FUNK?!?!?!?!
Not really. 👆ʜɪᴛ ᴍᴇ ᴜᴘ ᴏɴ ᴛᴇʟᴇɢʀᴀᴍ ᴜsɪɴɢ ᴍʏ ɴᴀᴍᴇ ᴀʙᴏᴠᴇ 👆
