Fantastic stuff. Short, to the point, with a quick example of how to do it. Looking forward to more!

Why didn't I think of that?! So much more effective than trying to follow the tail and pound 20 rounds at once. thanks!

Ur videos are awesome. If u ever need ppl to fly with id love to have some extra guys to fly with. Ur videos really helped with the small things i had problems with. So thanks for that.

personally i would rather use steep boom angle from right above the target and aim for the wingtips, as they usually are the weakest point of any aircraft, and even small cut off portion of the wing will bring the plane down. this worked especially well against il-2's which in 1946 at least were literally flying tanks, but which would fall for two or three cannon shots to the wingtip.
don't know how similar are the fuel tank placements in BoS compared to 1946 (if they were realistic in 1946 and if they are in BoS), but another extremely useful tactic is to fly against the heavy bombers in offline mode and practice the wing shooting to find out which parts will burst into fire when hitted. this worked especially well against b-17's and b-25's where the flaming fuel tank between the engines would always lead into a exploding wing. such a komodo dragon tactic often required only 5 cannon hits in between the engines and 1-5 minutes of waiting until the wing exploded.
there's a problem in the tactic presented in the video, since when approaching from so light angle the gunners are always able to eventually lead into you as well. you might bring the bomber down, but in return would go down yourself as well.

Sure, a steep dive can work but in this case the target is so close to the ground that there is no altitude underneath to pull back up.

you shouldn't dive under the target because the deeper you dive, the more you lose energy. also by diving under the target you need to pay more attention to avoid the front guns and possible frontal turrets of the target :) it would again also require you to bypass the rear-firing defensive guns. when i played 1946 i always pulled up maybe 50meters away from the target firing shorter burst, zooming back into higher alt, and if required and if no enemy fighters around, i would boom him again. only few bombers had a dorsal turret firing directly above, so with this tactic mastered you would be untouched by the defensive armament of the bombers :)

Sure, whatever works for you. These videos are not intended to represent the "one true way" to fly. Everyone has their own flying style.

Funny you should say that. I'm a big il2 46 fan and have just started using this very aim point myself. Works much better than just dumping 20mm rounds into the fuselage.

I've never seen this weaving in actual German gun camera footage of attacks on bombers. Any brief opportunity to attack is taken.

cuz real humans cant perfectly predict and lead like AI so the need arises to constantly be changing vectors in order to spoil their (perfect) firing solutions or move out of the gunners' envelope entirely (by provoking the scissors)
