That's invaluable advice for repurposing a Wii remote never intended for old school light gun arcade games! You just need to set the Mayflash Dolphin Bar to PC input mode and use a gaming pad for other buttons. There's a good chance of getting into CRT lightgun games for 8 bit home computers with this method.
thanks for that video! really helping out. i use the Ultimarc AimTrak light gun but when i push the trigger button for 5 sec to start the calibration process... the targets are flickering?! i dont know why this is... do you had the same problem? i can finish the calibration process but caus of thr flickering of the targets the gun is not 100% correctly calibrated... maybe you had the same issue? thanks
Awesome video! Do you know if there are additional settings and mappings that are necessary for Sinden light guns? I am getting inconsistent gameplay and feel like something like this could help a ton. Thanks for any help!
Just update to latest version and it's all plug and play. You can calibrate the aim and then it's pretty much on point. Make sure you have a dimly lit room and no light source in front of the gun that will create a glare. That throws the sensor off considerably.
I wish I seen this comment before I bought all the Wii controllers and attachments v39 works great with retro shooter plug n play . @@OfficialChaseBrogan
I'm using a raspberry pi 400 and I have the Aimtrak light guy which has 2 buttons one on each side. For some reason I can get the trigger to work if the port 1 controller device index is still set to my joystick. But when I do this the buttons on the side can't be detected. If I change the controller at Device Index to the actual light gun, now the buttons works but I can't control anything with my joystick and the trigger doesn't work. So I tried to be slick and I mapped controller 2 to the light gun buttons and the trigger was mapped to port 1 controls. This worked but the 2 buttons now were start and reload for player 2 and not player 1. It's super frustrating that I can get so close but can't get it to fully work. It's like the gun is a mouse and a separate controller in 1. Anyone else run into this and have a fix by any chance? Everything I find online is for a Windows machine. If it was on a PC there's supposedly an app I can install from Aimtrak but the batocera image I'm running doesn't have that. I really want to play time crisis which is one of the main reasons why I'd love to get this working properly. I also wouldn't mind being able to continue from my gun instead of walking to my arcade every time lol. Thanks again for the help!
Again - just giving you a heads-up: The special claim with Batocera 35 is that a generic Wii sensor supposedly works BETTER than a Dolphin Bar. Not sure if you’ve tried it… ruclips.net/video/jQfML6XoFPM/видео.html
Lightguns... The hardest thing to ever get working on any machine. The wii / may flash method is easier and is recognized on every machine. Not so lucky with my Aimtrack , its frustrating too ..
Awesome can’t wait to give this a try. Thanks my dude
Hi can I use two Wiiremote as lightguns in batocera 40? If it,s possible can you teach me how? Thanks

Will this work with sega Saturn, ps1, & ps2 light gun games too?

Yep I just recently upgraded to 35. This video was done on a previous version with the mayflash dolphin bar

Please tell me you sell this for the raspberry pi!!
You’ve showed everything except how to calibrate your light gun.
