  • Today I'm exploring painting Free-Form Watercolor Autumn Flowers, Seeds and Berries in a loose, semi-abstract way to capture the atmosphere of fall. Watch as I encourage forms to emerge from a random loose wet in wet background and then try it out for yourself. For a detailed video on how to do the background take a look at • Watercolor Autumn Leav... which gives full guidance on the method.

    Love frondy things! I need to figure out how to send you some pictures. We have had some awesome Autumn skies! Lots of Payne's grey!
    As a child I remember playing with my water colors and watching the colors play on the water on the paper. Prang was the brand, they came in a metal box and their brush had a good point. Good memory.
    Always enjoy your videos!

    Question Diane....you mentioned you shouldn't be using your brush to waken up your paints. Is there a particular reason for that? Too hard on the brush? Thanks....Denise xoxo

    • @DianeAntoneStudio
      @DianeAntoneStudio  2 года назад +1

      Hi Denise and thanks for your question! Yes, the reason is that using the nice brush to loosen up the pigment - especially a pigment based on particles of rock! - is likely to wear down the hairs and lose the point quickly. I should have taken the time to grab an older brush to mix up the paint- or better still I should have dampened the pigment earlier!!
